Because it's Sphon Ranch-designed, we're talking about a generous, $800,000 outdoor skateboarding facility here and what's more, unlike the Sphon Ranch park in Gainesville, this one has night lighting and thus is open to around ten at night. The variety and quality of skate terrain is impressive, there's a decent-sized bowl, handrails, stairs--good stuff all around. The local kids are pretty impressive too, really--you'll meet some skaters here who really rip. There are a few trees for shade near the playground but the splash pad is mostly in the sun. The splash pad is seasonal and $2 cash per person, is fenced in, and has an attendant. The playground has swings and couple fun climbing structures. The bathrooms are clean and there is a changing table in the women's restroom. We would come back to this nice park again!

Blue Jacket Park is definitely one of my favorite parks to visit. While it is a lively park and can get busy from time to time, especially on the days the run/walk clubs are there, it is usually a nice park to visit solo and enjoy the peace of the surroundings offered. There is more than enough open green space and a good amount of seating throughout the park. The park also maintains various courts/area for various sporting events like baseball, volleyball, soccer, and various other outdoor activities. As far as proximity to other areas, this park is also located a short distance from the shopping and food eateries in Baldwin Park. So, after enjoying a great workout or just strolling through the park, you can pop over to Baldwin Park for some food and beverages. The only challenge, at times, is parking. Parking in this area (in general) is just tricky; however, there is street parking throughout the neighborhood near the park as well as a designated parking lot for the park itself. However, you can also park throughout the Baldwin Park area and just walk to the park from there. Before I close this out, I've gone to numerous events in this park as well, so it is great for hosting various community events (of course, with the proper permits, etc.). All in all, Blue Jacket Park is really just a great park.

Rats. Orlando Skate Park has Two soda vending machines. One has a broken cover on it, like someone…read morehad kicked a hole in it, and a couple of selection windows were missing the labels. You can see a part of the inside. I inserted Two dollars and pressed one of the labeled selections. Nothing came out. I held them in a few seconds longer. While looking at the windows, I was surprised to see a RAT crawl past the two Unlabeled windows. I went into the office and told them, that not only is the machine not working, but that there's RAT running around in there. They wouldn't pay me back, but they said they would place an OUT OF ORDER SIGN ON IT. They never did in the remaining two hours we were there. I'm guessing it's free money. Still, It's probably a good thing it doesn't work. Who knows what's all over those bottles kids would be drinking from. Dave M
