While looking at funeral home options, every one of them was trying to upsell us and had the most outrageous pricing. All of the big name funeral homes were treating us like we were just another number and looking to profit. When I came across Care I knew immediately they were the right choice. When I spoke to Courtney on the phone I explained everything to her. You could genuinely hear the emotion and empathy in her voice. I explained to her that the hospital didn't let us see my brothers body for whatever reason. She was not happy about that and neither was her husband Aaron. Aaron assured us that if they were the choice for us they would get my brother before closing that day and we would be able to come and see him the very next day, And that is exactly what happened. Every promise they made to us they delivered on it. Arron, Courtney and Anastasia made such a difficult time in our life a little bit easier. They walked us through the entire process and gave suggestions where needed. When I arrived the day of the funeral they had already set up the flowers for us and the room looked beautiful. During this hard time we forgot to bring a belt, socks and shoes for my brother. On the day of the funeral I remembered and asked Aaron if my dad and brother brought the shoes, socks and belt, he told me no but he went out and got a belt and socks for my bother himself. I could not believe that he cared that much. While our mind were scattered and not in the right place he didn't want to add to our stress, So he went out and handled it for us to make sure our little brother was taken care of. I Will forever be grateful for that. I was the first person to arrive the day of the funeral and was scared to go see my little bother, Aaron walked me into the room over to my brother and put his hand on him and told me " Its ok you can touch him" When I did, He took a few steps back and let me have some time with my little bother. Unfortunately, I have now had to lay both of my parents to rest at the…read moreSouthern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery after they passed away in San Diego, California. My mother has been resting here for about 12 years, and most recently, my father was laid to rest here with military honors after proudly serving 25 years in the Navy. His military honors were absolutely beautiful and incredibly meaningful to our family. Seeing his years of service honored with such dignity and respect is something I will always remember. Having to coordinate arrangements from out of state during two of the most difficult times in my life could have been incredibly stressful, but every person I've interacted with at the cemetery has been kind, respectful, and supportive. During both of my parents' services, I could see how carefully and respectfully they were treated. I never had to worry about whether my parents were being cared for with dignity. Over the years, I've traveled from San Diego to Boulder City to visit my mom, and now both of my parents. Every time I visit, the grounds are beautiful, peaceful, and incredibly well maintained. One thing that especially means a lot to me is how those laid to rest here continue to be remembered and honored throughout the year. Whether I'm visiting around Memorial Day, Veterans Day, the Christmas season, or other times of year, I appreciate the flags, wreaths, and other special traditions honoring those laid to rest here. Living in San Diego, I can't be there with my parents all the time, so knowing they are resting somewhere that continues to remember and honor them means more than I can express. There was one issue with my parents' headstone where the inscription was entered incorrectly. It was disappointing, especially because I had selected the wording carefully. However, when I contacted the cemetery, they responded immediately, replaced the headstone, and sent me updated photos so I could confirm everything was correct. I really appreciated how quickly and respectfully they handled the mistake. Losing my parents and planning their services was incredibly difficult, but worrying about how they would be treated here was truly the least of my concerns. The staff clearly understand the significance of what families are entrusting them with and treat the veterans and their loved ones with honor, dignity, and respect. I'm incredibly proud that this beautiful place is my parents' final resting place. I would absolutely recommend the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery to any military family considering laying their loved one to rest here.
