Dyment's Market and Bakery is in Dundas with sufficient free parking. There are a couple of…read morehumorous signs on the outside of the market. See photos. At the market, they sell jams, salsas and assorted fresh fruit and vegetables including sweet corn and tomatoes. They also offer butter tarts, beautiful pies, fancy cookies and other baked goods made daily on the premises. We tried the artisan pizza slices with unique toppings like sweet peppers, mushrooms, zucchini and olives. They were delicious but lukewarm even after they were reheated. Outside, there are picnic tables available. I found their prices high; you pay a premium for freshness. There was a long, slow moving line inside to pay. Social distancing was not adhered to because the market is so small. They had a large, attractive field of sunflowers.

I got a few items to try - so far the mini quinoa salad and chicken, mushroom and leek potpie were both incredible, fresh and very tasty. Service was great although most folks are behind the counter to give extra room for shopping. The vibe is high end grocery store / deli - spotlessly clean, organized with mood lighting and the whole nine yards. We got our turkey for Thanksgiving here one year and it was a crowd pleaser. Amazing neighborhood staple in Dundas.

Let me give you a disclaimer, I don't eat a lot of meat. I have been here twice. I was dragged here…read moreby a friend of mine who recently moved to this sleepy little hamlet to work at a nearby university. From what I tasted, the meat is very good. I don't know that it is in the category of Lobels in New York or Peoria Packing of Chicago, but from what I had, it was very good. I also just learned that the Senator Restaurant in Toronto uses Cumbrae's beef. I haven't been back to the Senator since 1991, but it was at that time, a very good restaurant. My review is not for the meat, it is for the staff. I don't frequent butcher shops, but my past experiences have been very different from this shop. There are no old, grumpy, loud men in bloodied white coats here. Instead, they seem to have found a stable of really hot, cute young girls that love to handle raw meat. I don't get it, but each one is cuter and prettier than the next. Brunettes, blondes, red heads, its like the Sunday Funday girls of the Playboy Mansion are working here. I could cast a Bravo reality show here."The cute coeds of Cumbraes." You could do a calendar that would make the Tempe 12 look ordinary. The guys in the back are also young, like a college hockey team. I am not sure if this hiring is on purpose, or the norm for small Canadian butcher shops, but it works. I think even hardcore vegans would have a hard time avoiding this place.
