I started training at Ease in March of this year but really committed to attending classes consistently since July. I found Ease and Professor Ian through the invitation of a friend after mentioning that I wanted to learn self-defense skills, as well as find a fun form of exercise. At first I was hesitant since about 10 years ago, I attended a trial week at a different bjj school and just felt bullied and turned off to continuing. But since day one at Ease, I've never encountered any egos and every single person that I've trained with has been helpful in showing me small ways to improve in various positions. It's a culture that I immediately appreciated considering my past experience. Since I'm starting at age 31, my biggest regret is not finding the right school like Ease earlier in life. I was hesitant to come because I was moving in about two months, but after the first class I decided I wanted to join. I wasn't expecting to join since I was moving so soon and the I knew joining wouldn't be worth the hassle. I have been training at Caveirinha Jiu Jitsu with professor Ian since Jan 2021. Training jiu-jitsu has been an amazing experience so far. I was a bit nervous at first because I did know what to fully expect but it has been very beneficial for me, physically and mentally. This is an amazing gym! They have a lot of different times for classes, and professor Ian and the coaches are very kind and helpful.

Because my daughter is so skinny and shy, I wanted something to build up her confidence and physical strength, and martial arts comes to mind. After doing some research on the web, Jiu Jitsu seem to be a good option for her. Professor Ian and coach James were excellent with the kids and make practicing Jiu Jitsu fun. After a few lesson, she seems to have funs rolling with the other kids in class. Last weekend, we went on a weekend getaway. At the hotel pool, she said playfully that she will submit me. To my surprise, I felt that she got stronger while we were play fighting, and she did a few moves that were really impressive. The gym is very welcoming, and my daughter felt like home here. I have been going to this school for years now. Prior to coming here I trained in various martial arts styles for the past 12 years. The professor at this school is as cool as he is talented. His positive and chill attitude trickle down to his students to create a friendly learning environment. He always encourages people to play it safe with their training partners.
