While browsing car rentals in PR, I wanted to support local businesses. I reserved my rental online a few days before our trip which said all fees and taxes were included. This is not true. We were charged an additional $200 in fees and taxes on top of a $200 refundable deposit. Transparency will go a long way in retaining your clientele. Please don't tell me I'm paying all taxes then charge me more than I already paid. Not a great way to start a vacation. Shuttle available from the airport. This co. goes under flex way rental as well. This is probably been the worst experience in renting a car I've ever had. It took about 2 1/2 hours to rent a car because there's two people working, they check you in and take a ride to the airport to pick up more people they check you in take another ride to the airport to pick up more people so you're sitting there like sitting ducks waiting for them to go back-and-forth to the airport. They took about 45 minutes to originally picked me up for something that's literally a two minute drive they're arrogant, unprofessional, nasty and rude. Their lack of customer service is by far not a representation of what the island is about. They speak to you as if they are your parents scolding you with the constant "if you get into an accident" "if you hit somebody" Trying to bully you into their policy if you opt to use your own. Then they give me the wrong key and repeatedly try to explain to me that it's a push to start that I'm not doing it right. I rented a car from EASEWAYat the LMM Airport in San Juan PR Upon return the car showed a scratch on the lt font corner. Thy held my$ 500.00 deposit. Weeks later I received a letter demanding I forward the documents to my card for payment of the balance of $2,419.72. I notified the credit card about this flagrant overcharge and they'd denied all charges. In addition notice the overcharge of $70.00 in the final bill. Pedro was good when we first pick-up the car. At returning the car Andrew or Andres was very rude an just ignorant. It's only been two days since returning the car so can't say about the deposit, the deposit amount was $250 which was my personal insurance deductible amount, and they said is 100% refundable once the car is returned with no damages. The car we received was in great shape, it was a 2025/2026 Kia model with less than 13K miles. The pickup and dropoff at the airport was fast with the shuttle. Easeway (Aguadilla, PR) provided me a $153.45 car rental, acknowledging my fullcover auto insurance. Notwithsatnding, they added to my invoice a $ 91.85 for tires and auto glass coverage. Be careful, they use to wrongly charge an undue duplicate coverage. read more

This place is easy to get a rental, but when it's time to return the car they will charge you extra and if you call to claim they will block your number. I rented a car for a week, left it clean inside and out, gas on full and they still took my $200 deposit. Horrible! SCAM! My car broke down on the way to return it. They showed me a picture of a crack in the bumper. They blamed it on me. At the time I could not pull up the photos I took of the damage when I arrived. They charged me $506.94 for it. When I got home my photos loaded. It starts with December 28/2024 I arrived late due to our flight was delayed. The Shuttle picked us up at the airport the driver was excellent But they want to hustle you they want to force you to use there insurance even though I had my insurance card. They didn't not except it they said they needed a declaration page My app didn't work and it was 11:30 on a Saturday night. I called them on a Monday they told me I had 24 hours to show them my letter I told the young lady no one specified that. Horrible customer service. Wouldn't let us in with our colleague due to the tight space. Service really NEEDS to improve. Horrible, horrible service. Made a reservation through Priceline and purchased insurance through Priceline. They charged me their insurance, $500 deposit that they claim it was returned 5 days ago. When I called my bank they said that they were lying that there's no deposit on hold, that they actually charged the amount and never returned it. I had to do claim through my bank. Do not rent a car from here!! This has been a terrible experience. Not only has the customer service been extremely rude, but the cars are in very bad condition. The first car we rented, the tire pressure in the back tires was 20 PSI more than it was suppose to be. We noticed once we drove the car nearby and the car was jumping because the tires were so inflated. We came to return the car and they wanted to charge us for an entire day after only using the car for two hours. Additionally, they did not allow us to put an additional driver on the rental car which has never happened before. We changed to another car and switched the drivers and the new car had a hole in the tire which caused us to have low pressure and the need to refill the tires throughout our trip. I was driven to Easeway Car Rental for a vehicle and was told they would honor the rate Sixt gave me. BS!!! My credit card company covers all auto rentals and I even showed them the provision on line under "benefits." I had the worst experience at EASEWAY OF CAROLINA. I returned my rental car on 30oct 2023 after 4 days. He inspected the car which was full of dents but found one that supposedly was new. Was not in the video they had taken before. I had insurance but usd500 deductible....they kept the usd200 plus 300 to do an appraisal for fixing the car. Of course its a company that works for them right there locally and ups the price of the damage...this should not have been more than usd200....the same rental agent Angel E told me that. I said well what can i do.....Never saw the damage until that moment....(the car was full of dents everywhere}....i mean everywhere....cant imagine how many people have fallen on this trap. Today i got the appraisal they are refunding 50 dollars of the usfd500.....they didnt want to make it that obvious. Would give zero stars if I could. We were fourth in line to pick up out rental and were there for 2 hours. They only had one person working the desk. Every group took 30 minutes. We were forced to buy insurance that we did not need. Confirmed that our auto insurance covered the rental. We were too tired to fight with them anymore. Payed a fortune for a car with no wiper fluid. I had to dump a bottled water on the windshield to see. Awful experience. Lastly, shuttle driver wore his mask like a chin diaper. read more

I rented a car through Easeway/ Nu Car rental, or whatever they are calling themselves today. The experience was pretty poor. I dealt with Adrian and Kiara M., who if I were their boss, would no longer work there. In short, I had issues and questions when it came to the deposit. They said there would be a once-off, refundable $200. I paid that, but they took an additional $99.40 off my card and when I called to inquire about it I was either put on hold for indefinite periods of time, hung up on, or given short, vague answers that really didn't answer my question. In fact, in talking to more than 1 person there, their feedback contradicted one another's. Additionally, I have tried emailing them multiple times, but no response. The car was decent, but the customer service, hidden fees, and overall processes are subpar. I would not recommend renting from them, and again, if anyone in management is reading this, I would have a serious conversation about how they engage (or don't) with your customers! read more

BUYERS BEWARE !!!! If you are looking to be scammed and charged more than your reservation initially stated then this is the place for you. After arriving at SJU they werent there to pick us up which was the least of it. Upon arriving to pick up the rental they stated that because my vehicle wasnt 2015 or newer it is there made up "policy" you carry their insurance which added a additional $200 to our total. No where in writing did they provide that this was the rule. I contacted my insurance company Allstate who gauranteed my insurance is full coverage and covered the vehicle I was renting 100% but to no prevail to the Representative whom Im sure is receiving some additional bonus for force selling and or implementing their coverage which is not required. As you can imagine my family (kids ages 1 and 3) was beyond tired from traveling so I bit the bullet not having time to search for another. I called multiple times throughout my trip to speak with the branch manager who conveniently made him self unavailable everything time I called and NEVER called me back. Stay clear away from this company. I was out their with multiple families who also rented vehicles and was not subjected to this treatment.
