I imagine that a lot of thought and preparation was put into honoring this man and this funeral home did him justice. Houses graves and…read morerevolutions The Oak Hill Cemetery is a huge, old graveyard that has been a Southington, CT landmark for a long, long time. Founded on a hill back in 1733, it grew and grew over the centuries. The cemetery has a wide assortment of memorials, some very simple and others massive and imposing. Many huge obelisks from the mid nineteenth century are scattered around. In the middle of the cemetery is a huge boulder with a plaque that marks the site of the first town meeting house. It stood there from 1726 to 1757 and was finally moved when the cemetery started growing up around it. The boulder is also a memorial for the soldiers that fought in the Revolutionary War. A huge and very cool old graveyard to walk around. A whole lot of history is contained up on that hill
