Unfortunately I sprained my ankle later that week and when I asked for a refund, they offered me only $75 back, even though I didn't go to a single class. Not to mention, they charged everyone for the whole month when they were closed the last two weeks of the month. They should have only charged for half the month. The management is extremely scandalou and unreasonable.

I had some prior martial arts training, but never really put it all together into MMA training. Each time I drove down Washington, I would eye Sonora MMA and tell myself "I'll give it a shot oneday." Eventually, one day came and it was probably the best thing I did since moving to Sonora. Mike and Elisha are the managers and they are some of the nicest, most down to earth people you can come across. They do their best to keep the facility clean, safe, and cool. The team that trains here is non-judgmental, accepting, and occupied with the goal of improving their skills. Here is the sample schedule: Monday: either Judo or Jiujutsu, but usually jiujutsu. Tuesday: Striking with an emphasis on conditioning Wednesday, the owner, Tom Theofanopolous, teaches a world- level jiujutsu class that is really invaluable. The last 15-30 minutes of class is reserved for live rolling Thursday: Striking with the last 30-20 minutes reserved for live sparring. All in all, a real wholesome place. If you want to get/stay in shape, learn a new skill, and learn more about yourself, this is the place for you

"I hate to complain, but the schedule at this gym is truly terrible. The other day, I arrived when…read morethe website indicated open mat should be. I was told it would begin in a few minutes, so I purchased a day pass. However, upon reaching the gym, they were already finishing up. I requested a refund, explaining that I was there specifically for open mat, but was denied. So, I just went home. (Although a worker said they would contact the manager for a refund, which I do appreciate, I don't think I received it, but thanks for trying, nonetheless.) I returned the next day around the scheduled time, and again, nothing was happening. I called them later and asked when I could come by for an open mat session. They told me it would probably start later than the schedule stated, so l arrived then, and still, nothing. I apologize if I sound harsh; I usually never give bad reviews. I was just frustrated because I had to walk to the gym twice for no reason. If a gym wants to attract new people, they should honestly stick to the schedule or at least update their website. As someone who trains at a gym in Austin, TX, this was not the best welcome, and it was made extremely difficult just to get to the gym at the correct time. Just trying to be constructive, the people in the jiu-jitsu area seemed pretty friendly when I spoke to them while they were wrapping up. All I'm trying to say is that a strict schedule makes it much easier for people who are new to the gym or even traveling.

Last Wednesday, Eric taught some great "Butterfly Sweeps." Then, we drilled techniques and sparred. Excellent training! I enjoy the challenge of training in high altitude because it humbles me as I gasp for air. LOL I encourage anyone that's in Mammoth for vacation or otherwise to visit this academy. You won't be disappointed. July 2019- I wish there was a 6 star rating. I had another great training session at Mammoth Lakes BJJ. This time I was blessed to attend a "Take Down" seminar by one of Eric's collegiate wrestlers. The guy was a great instructor! Excellent training!! As always, Eric is the nicest and most welcoming instructors I've ever met in my 2 decades of BJJ training. Thank you Eric.

On my first day, I had trouble accessing the gym through the app. Although I was hesitant to bother anyone, I texted the owner, Rob, whose number was posted on the door for after-hours assistance. He responded promptly and patiently helped me get everything sorted out. The next morning, I arrived around 4:30 a.m. and once again found myself unable to get in. Feeling terrible about reaching out so early a second time, I sent Rob another text, only to learn that the gym doesn't open until 6:00 a.m. on Sundays. Despite my mistake, he was pleasant, professional, and incredibly helpful. The gym itself is clean, well-maintained, and equipped with the majority of the machines and free weights that most gym-goers need. While the facility is somewhat smaller and the dumbbells top out at 75 pounds, that's completely understandable given the location and size of the gym. I'm genuinely grateful that a facility like T-Fit exists in the mountain town of Arnold, and the day pass pricing is very reasonable. Although I have never met Rob in person, I hope to do so during a future visit. Based on my interactions with him, he appears to embody the qualities of both an outstanding business owner and a true fitness professional. I would gladly return whenever I'm back in the area.
