One of the employees raised his voice at me several times when I questioned the quality of the completely obvious mistakes and lack of attention to detail. Note the messy finishes everywhere, not to mention the huge utility box that they never requested PGE raise up that basically makes the pad they poured unusable to park my boat on. To begin, contractor, John Fruin met us to provide one of two bids for our project. He was the second we interviewed. Despite our plans to go with the first bid, he quickly won us over with his level of expertise and easy, no-pressure demeanor. He had clever ideas we had never considered. Long story short- he won us ten times over! And, the bid was dramatically lower than the other. Dramatically! We also loved the payment plan with no interest! Now... about the crew! AMAZING group of such dedicated, hard-working young, strong men we have ever seen! Our project was estimated at a little less than 2 weeks. And, guess what? It took 3 1/2 days!!! Unbelievable! The crew under foreman, Ulises worked so diligently and with such attention to detail. They arrived promptly early AM and left just before 6 PM. They impressed us and the neighbors in their last hour of work, power washing the project before their return the next day which included the street. Clean-up was quite impressive! And, the work was expertly executed! Each had their role and there was so much respect and encouragement between them all! Such a happy crew! Many small cracks remained unsealed and seal coating was extremely thin resulting in underlining marks and seals showing through like a road map. Looked pretty bad and the owner did not even ask me to check out the job when they finished. Just sent a worker for the payment and left. I had to go to local Home Depot and buy several additional cans of seal and spread it myself in order to get the driveway surface to look decent. Buyer beware with this company!! North-Cal first gave us a fair estimate on the job that was very detailed and clear on the process (unlike other bids). These guys worked long and hard to do the job right. They started at 8am with a crew of 5-7 and worked a 12-hour day to finish it up right. They took their lunch breaks in shifts to keep the job rolling. Paving is a multi-step process and they kept returning to problem areas to soften the asphalt and smooth it out until it was perfect. Unfortunately their spreader broke down near the bottom of the driveway but that didn't stop them! They completed the last few feet BY HAND, well after dark. They could have bailed and said "good enough", but that's clearly not how this company rolls! Highly recommend.

I wish I could go back in time and go with a different company. Our concrete is horrible. Weeks…read moreafter it was poured there were cracks and splotchy spots everywhere. Fast forward almost two years later, it has gotten worse. I'm very disappointed as we were very nice and accommodating with them and even provided food and beverages while it was hot outside. We got a few different quotes and they were all within the same price range but with the good reviews this team had I thought it was the best choice. WRONG! They also said they can come back and re pour an also to fix a couple other things and we followed up twice and they never showed up. I feel like we were robbed and have decided to consider seeking legal advice on how to go about this. I'll update with more pictures soon. Don't give them your business! I'll be updating with new pictures to see how bad it is.
