Miguel did a wonderful job on our backyard! We asked him to remove all the weeds that grew from the rain, trim our rosemary bushes and remove the dead ones. Miguel did a spectacular job repairing and improving the complicated (3-controller, 12 zones) irrigation in our very large backyard! Several other people tried but were unable to take care of it. I really liked that Miguel explained everything to me. He and his helper were always prompt, polite and extremely hardworking. He even came out once when I was worried about one zone not watering with hot days coming up - no extra charge. I highly recommend Miguel's Landscaping for professional service, quality of work done and timeliness of getting the extensive job done at my home. Miguel and his crew arrived promptly and got right to work removing many tree roots from my lawn area. They then installed a RootBarrier product around the island where the two Ash trees are growing. The barrier will prevent roots from invading the lawn area again. Next, they installed sod, installed new sprinkler heads to meet coverage of all sod. Finally, they removed the paver walkway in order to remove the roots that were creating a walking hazard. Note: This review is being left for a family member who recently hired this company for a landscaping project and is intentionally vague and without photos. This is to keep the family member's identity hidden for privacy. The actual landscaping work was not great, and this is mostly to do with aesthetics. I don't know if this is due to the company's lack of knowledge or just a common characteristic of the type of landscaping work and material. The biggest issue was their carelessness while doing the work, lack of professionalism, and difficult attitude. In the process of doing the landscaping work, other things in the yard were damaged. Think like dragging tools and materials over the existing garden or breaking boards in the fence while working with tools and materials (not exactly what happened, just examples to give an idea; see Eileen J's review which is very similar). They also did not clean up at the end of the job, leaving yard waste. They did not answer or return phone calls or texts after leaving one day when the owner (my family member) was not home, so in addition to having to clean up after them, there were repairs that had to be done as a result of their careless work. Throughout the project, they were difficult to work with and helped themselves to other items at the house. They seemed to not like having the damages pointed out to them, nor being given feedback about the progress of the project (for example, seeing that they were removing a bush that was not supposed to be removed--again, just as example, not exactly what happened). My family member is naturally unhappy and very upset and wants others to know how this company handles business. However, since the company has their address and was at the house for an extended period for this job, there is fear of retaliation. In fact, we suspect that some of the damages and left yard waste was done in retaliation as there is damage and yard waste was left in other areas of the property that work was not done in. read more
