Part one of a two part foundation project Recently we had…read moreour house foundation repaired by Groundworks out of Fairfield. One bedroom had sunk by almost 5 inches as that part of the house had been built on fill. In order to restore the house to it's proper level numerous foundation jacks and floor leveling screw jacks were required. In addition some landscaping bushes and pvc sprinkler pipes had to temporarily removed. Groundworks had informed me prior to starting work what would be required to successfully complete this project and had my full approval. The house is now level, the doors no longer swing on their own and the interior cracks between the walls and ceiling joints no longer exist. Prior to the crew leaving the yard was cleaned up and the pvc pipes replaced. Best of all Groundworks will come back annually to the next 5 years and make any necessary adjustments. The Groundworks crew that made this happen was Andrew, the site supervisor, Charlie and Allen. Their performance and daily communication was superior on all levels. This is part 2. The Groundworks Poly crew of Anthony & Brian were very fast and efficient in completing their part of the foundation repair contract which was to level our family room slab floor. Fast, yes, but Anthony did take the time to not only explain what they were going to do but also walked me through the process as they were working. I have no problem in recommending them & Groundworks to other home owners who need to have their foundation repaired.

I spent approximately $30,000 with Groundworks, and I deeply regret hiring them…read more I called Groundworks for one reason: contractors working on my floors noticed a slope and told me the beams underneath my house needed to be stabilized before they could continue. Groundworks assessed my crawl space and recommended a system they represented would address the problem. I relied on their expertise. That is the ONLY reason I agreed to spend approximately $30,000. When the project was about 80% complete, Groundworks suddenly told me I needed to call a carpenter. They did not explain that there was significant dry rot underneath my home or that the condition of the wood needed to be addressed before the work they were performing. I learned that later, after hiring an independent home inspector. By then, Groundworks had already been working throughout the same crawl space installing stabilization and encapsulation. My inspector identified significant dry rot and explained that it needed to be addressed first. Had I known that before Groundworks performed approximately $30,000 worth of work, I would NEVER have moved forward with their recommended system before addressing the underlying damage. And here is the worst part: THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED. The slope remains and appears to have increased since their work was completed. I am now facing additional repairs and expenses, and some of Groundworks' work may have to be undone or worked around to properly repair the underlying damage. The encapsulation has also been problematic. It was supposed to help keep my crawl space dry, but it was not properly secured, leaving openings that allowed rodents into my crawl space. I also later learned that the dehumidification equipment installed did not cover the entire crawl space as I understood it was supposed to. Then there is the customer service. Once they had my money, getting meaningful help became incredibly difficult. I have contacted corporate and have gone more than a month without a meaningful response. If Chris is assigned to your project, based on my experience, I would be extremely cautious. My advice before hiring Groundworks: GET AN INDEPENDENT INSPECTION FIRST. Do not rely solely on the assessment of the company selling you the system. Get everything in writing and ask specifically whether anything underneath your home needs to be repaired before their system is installed. I trusted Groundworks to identify the problem and recommend a solution. Approximately $30,000 later, my original problem remains, the slope appears worse, I discovered significant dry rot that should have been addressed first, I am facing additional repairs, the encapsulation allowed rodent access, and corporate has been unresponsive. I would NEVER recommend Groundworks based on my experience. $30,000 spent. Original problem unresolved. More repairs ahead. That speaks for itself.

To begin, contractor, John Fruin met us to provide one of two bids for our project. He was the second we interviewed. Despite our plans to go with the first bid, he quickly won us over with his level of expertise and easy, no-pressure demeanor. He had clever ideas we had never considered. Long story short- he won us ten times over! And, the bid was dramatically lower than the other. Dramatically! We also loved the payment plan with no interest! Now... about the crew! AMAZING group of such dedicated, hard-working young, strong men we have ever seen! Our project was estimated at a little less than 2 weeks. And, guess what? It took 3 1/2 days!!! Unbelievable! The crew under foreman, Ulises worked so diligently and with such attention to detail. They arrived promptly early AM and left just before 6 PM. They impressed us and the neighbors in their last hour of work, power washing the project before their return the next day which included the street. Clean-up was quite impressive! And, the work was expertly executed! Each had their role and there was so much respect and encouragement between them all! Such a happy crew! Of course, we will continue to recommend them to anyone we know and have already referred to a few of those dog-walkers we never knew before!

Originally, last May, we wanted the side driveways and a concrete slab to put our Tuff Shed on in the backyard, but within a week, we knew Innovative Concrete Solutions would also do high quality work on the patio portion that we wanted stamped and colored, so we added that to the backyard project. The owner Ramon designed a color for me after I showed him pictures of the shade of terra cotta I was going for. I received so many compliments on the unique color of my patio concrete from friends, family and neighbors. He can work a color to your preference, he has colors ready or you can come up with your own like I did. My husband and I were super pleased with the entire look of the two sides and back yard! Four months later in Oct, we were ready to put a couple of concrete walkways in the front yard. Again, I had specific designs chosen for stamping and colors and Ramon delivered again on another unique design and color impression sample that satisfied the look I was going for. For the price he was charging me for the two walkways, it was indeed worth what I got in return. The work done was professional and high level. We were beyond happy with the vibe and look created. THEN UNEXPECTEDLY, the ground below the main walkway started uprising within a month of the completed walk way work. My husband called Christian, and both Ramon and Christian came by within minutes and ensured us they would redo the concrete edge so the sidewalk and walkway would be seamless again. Not that any of this uprising was their fault and yet Ramon didn't want to charge us for any of the work he did today to get the concrete even with the sidewalk again. As customers worldwide would agree, customer service beyond the original project or product is everything to us. I reached out to multiple landscaping companies and All Season Landscaping were the only ones who truly listened to what we wanted. Others kept pushing for "this would look nice" or kept suggesting things that would cost more money. Others kept calling and we were trying to decide a landscaper. We finally decided to work with Jerry. Jerry was responsive and respectful to our time. He listened and worked with our budget. He kept us up to date with the project. Jason arrived as expected, surveyed the issues and discovered a leak in the valves. Turns out the neighbor's tree root had infiltrated the pipes and caused a crack. He dug out around the valves, determined the repair and had everything done within 2 hours! He ran through the entire system to make sure all was well and made sure everything was back to normal and clean despite the fact he was a muddy mess. Jason is an expert, had all tools and parts in his truck, and fixed everything to my extreme satisfaction. I highly recommend their service!

Alejandro and his crew did an awesome job! They cleaned up our side yard with gravel and edging, refreshed the front with decorative rock, and completely transformed the backyard with artificial turf and modern concrete squares set in pea gravel. Everything looks clean, sharp, and super easy to maintain. The crew was professional, fast, and detail-oriented -- you can tell they take pride in their work. Alejandro was easy to work with and made sure we were happy with every step. My husband and I were looking for a licensed and insured contractor and charge at a reasonable price. We've met with other licensed contractors and charged $10k more, and for the same design I envisioned. My husband did his own research on how much items would cost and Zoe Landscaping didn't seem to charge too much or too little. Don't be fooled by contractors who say they are licensed but don't give a licensed number and have a cheaper price. We think his charge was reasonable and affordable. As far as the time the backyard being done, we were estimated that the backyard would be done in about 2 weeks. It took about 4 weeks, but that was because we had that one week of rain. Which is something we can't control. I felt bad, but they had to work on Thanksgiving. Overall, will hire again, and recommend to others. Thank you and great job!

The reason for me choosing one star is because of the ridiculously expensive estimate that I received, I was quoted $1250 , and $1000 after discount if I pay cash to remove already half cut a medium size tree . I called another 3 companies just to make sure I will not over pay , they all quoted less than $500 , I end up doing the job for $250 including removing the routes with a special equipment that grind the roots 2 foot below the ground. The person that I hired is licensed bonded and insured , it's took them less than an hour to finish it. $1000 estimate it's a rip off and I'm warning everybody to shop around and get another two or three companies for the estimate . And for this company I wish good luck and actually I don't think they're going to stay too long in a business.

The crew that came every day were consistent with their timing, courteous, and willing to take input. We were starting with a vague diagram of what we wanted, so there were many details to finalize during the process, and they made sure to discuss each of those with us. Nick's bid was less detailed as to what would be included than other bids, so we had started out a little bit uncomfortable, but everything that we'd discussed and expected was included in the price, including adding in trenching to set up for electricity and gas lines that the other companies wanted to charge a lot for. Several months after the job was done, Nick came by to do a wellness check on the yard, including making sure that the irrigation was working properly. He also had some of the crew come by for a few touch up items. We highly recommend Vizcay Landscaping and would definitely hire them again in the future!

The "before" picture is actually after we mowed the weeds!! I really wanted large concrete steps for a walkway and wanted to keep a little bit of green so they installed a patch of artificial turf for me and everything turned out great!! We went from one of the worst front yards to the best on our street!! (I am biased, of course!) Nick and his crew went above and beyond by replacing the existing river rocks by the garden hose with the new gray rocks. This was not originally included in the quote and I didn't think twice about it but Nick suggested replacing them so the rocks would all match. Awesome customer service!! I would highly recommend Nick and his crew!!
