The shuttle picked us up from the hotel and drove us out to Tierra Sagrada. The driver was friendly and we chatted the whole way over. We saw whales from out the windows along the way and then we were off on our adventure! At the conclusion of the day the shuttle dropped us right back at our hotel and we all agreed it was the best part of our trip!

My relatives recently gifted us with a dolphin experience in Cabo and unfortunately I did not do my…read moredue diligence and read these reviews from my fellow Yelpers before our trip. The company Cabo Adventures is a total scam and preys on vulnerable families. I will NEVER use them again for any other activity despite us coming to Cabo every year. I encourage every one from Yelp not to use them as well. Each ticket cost over $200 per person to be part of a group dolphin experience. This is not even private. A child MUST be accompanied by an adult so that forces more people to join. You think after spending over $800 for 4 people they would treat us like royalty right? WRONG. They do not mention any photo pricing online because they don't want to scare you away before you purchase your tickets. But let me tell you, it's an all or nothing photo package (you cannot pick a few or buy per picture) and it was over $500!!!!!! The b*tch working at the photo center must get off on making kids cry because when you call her out on the ridiculous prices, she shuts off the computer, takes her booklet, and says "ok good bye, there's the door". They do not negotiate at all because they know you have no other option. It's truly heartless. How insulting after we just spent $800 just on the tickets for a 30 min SHARED experience. They allow observers who are not doing the dolphin experience but they conveniently put them far away from where the dolphins are so it's impossible for them to take any pictures or video. Note: females you are NOT allowed to have anything in your hair such as hair ties or clips which there is no mention online or even when you check in. They don't give a reason why and it really sucked because the day we went it was super windy and our hair went everywhere ruining a lot of the photos plus making it hard to see in the water with hair in your face. My poor daughter had to take out her cute braids :/ Many other great and reasonable experiences. Go elsewhere and do NOT support Cabo adventures. Shame on you guys. UPDATE: I'd like to respond to the manager Lorena who tries to justify these ridiculous prices instead of listening to her customers' feedbacks and making adjustments. No, it's not optional to get the photos because what's the point of doing this experience if you do not have pictures to keep as memories? Yes, I understand there's safety regulations about not having cameras with us in the pool but forcing bystanders not in the pool to be over 100 ft away to take pictures which will be blurring, you leave us no choice but to purchase the photos. Nobody is asking for free photos but charging $500 is a scam. Even Disneyland only charges $80 for unlimited photos for a whole week! And respect gets respect. After spending over $800, YOUR employee is the one who was disrespectful to me first with her attitude about the price and not even trying to talk to your supervisor or work something out with me. Clearly, you only care about profit, not about customers leaving happy or having a good experience.

The package we purchased also included a tequila tasting at the end. The tequila tasting was only for the adults. We were picked up from our hotel by the G-Force bus on-time. We packed it in, and I was given the control to the music on the way to their headquarters. From Cabo San Lucas it was approximately :45 minute drive so good music was essential. When we finally arrived at the location we had to check everyone in, pay, get fitted for our helmets, and had a safety meeting prior to heading on our 2-hour adventure. The experience was awesome, but I would definitely recommend prior experience on the ATV even though it's not necessary. The instructor does like to go fast and there are a lot of turns, bumps and hills. It will also be very dusty, so bring a face covering, or purchase one at the check-in lobby. One of the ATV's gears was slipping on the hills, so after a few mishaps, we had to wait until they exchanged the ATV's out. That took an extra :20 minutes, but thankfully we were reimbursed for the ATV. The best part of the ride was the beach. After riding through nothing but hills you feel free! Although one is not able to pass, or get out of line, the temptation is there. Believe me if you horseplay and don't follow the rules, they will not hesitate to pull you to the side. Once you get back and dust yourself off you can grab your belongings from the lockers you were provided at check-in and head on over to see the pictures!! A few of the crew members follow you around your adventure, in order to capture this memorable experience. After we got our pictures, we headed over to the tequila table for our adult tasting. The tequila presentation was exceptional. We were given a backstory on the tequila they produce locally. There had a few different types, but the chocolate liquor flavor seemed to be the popular one. All of the tequilas were flavorsome. The bottles were available for purchase after the :30 minute tasting. If your a tequila lover, I highly recommend it. Overall our group of 13 were completely satisfied with our adventure. The same driver took us back to our hotel, and even did us the favor of dropping us off in downtown for some tacos. Thanks to everyone for making this a memorable experience.

Booked a 3pm slot so the shuttle picked us up at 1:50pm from our hotel. Took about an hour with some traffic to get there. As soon as we arrived they knew which reservation we were. They signed us in and we paid the $15 per person fee plus insurance. Once signed in we went to get our helmets and took a picture at the beautiful butterfly. We waited for a few more people and got the rules and instructions from Henry "El Caballo". Everything made sense and off we went to the ATVs. My husband and I chose to do a double which means two people on one ATV. It worked out great since I am not good at driving these things. We took the scenic route to the beach and every step of the way they had a photographer capturing the fun. we stopped twice once at the top of the hill with an awesome view and once at the beach. Both breath taking views. Got to take pictures at each view and since we were on a double I was able to get some awesome videos. Once we left the beach it was a straight shot to the main building. We had 5 tequila shots as part of the experience and while we waited for our ride we were able to look at the pictures and buy what we liked. They also had snacks and some AMAZING quesadillas for sale. They tasted like my grandmas cooking totally completely the entire experience. Thank you Henry El Caballo for the awesome tour. Tony for the delicious tequila And all the wonderful ladies taking pictures. Can't wait to come back with the whole family !!!!

This is our second time using cactus tours, and we loved it!…read more We did the can am, side by side private tour with 3 of us in a 4 seater, and 2 in a 2 seater. With the private tour, you can take your phones and all your own pictures so that's a plus, also it's just your small group so you are stuck driving with strangers. We had our 5 year old son with us and our 21 year old daughter and they both had a blast! It gets extremely dusty so I highly recommend bringing bandanas to cover your nose and mouth. They do offer them for sale there but expensive. Our tour guy was great yohani or Joe. Don't waste the time on the tequila tasting afterwards, time wasted and they are just trying to sell you tequila. After the tasting they will try to coral you to view and purchase the pictures they took also. The pictures are really cool but I don't think worth the money especially if you paid for a private tour and took your own video and photos already! We drove to the tour location so I'm not sure how the pickup transportation service is so can't comment on that. We loved the experience both times we have done it and would love to do it again!

We were repeat customers after an initial positive experience in May 2022 while now in December 2025 enduring random overcharges on unitemized receipts! A total of 4 of us booked a reservation through Amstar at Cactus Tours for the side by side UTVs (2 vehicles of 2 drivers and 2 passengers). Amount paid in full to Amstar a month in advance excluding the $25USD cash entry fee per person which we paid day-of. Also on day-of, we were offered upgrade options. The only option we proceeded with was to upgrade each vehicle 1 horsepower level up which was listed as $85 USD per vehicle for a total of $170 USD.  This was also explained to us that upgrading to that vehicle power meant insurance was included so no need for additional insurance purchase or security hold on the card. We declined ALL other upgrade options.  No private tour, no higher vehicle power upgrade beyond the 1 level up, NOTHING else. We provided a credit card and the staff member took the card for the transaction.  Again, the staff member insisted on upgrading to a private tour but we declined (which we later realized was because they didn't have any other parties booked at our time so it inevitably became a private tour anyway, they just hoped to get more $$ for it). He ran the card and handed us the receipt while rushing to direct us away to the locker area. Later upon arrival back to our hotels, we finally had a moment to review the receipt for the upgrade charges and saw it was actually charged $7,200 MXN (about $400 USD) with no itemization.  This isn't inclusive of any transaction or currency conversion fees, that is the amount directly on the receipt. This is DRASTICALLY way more than the upgrades we agreed to with no explanation or breakdown. Despite saying otherwise in other review replies, their website is not transparent in charges as the "upgrade" sheets they have in the lobby show charges differently than the website displays. The charge in MXN should have been roughly $3,060. I was overcharged $4,140 MXN, more than double what the true upgrade charge should have been alone. I went back and forth for days with Cactus Tours via calls and emails until after a week they finally stopped answering me completely. I'm in the process of filing a fraudulent chargeback with my credit card company since Cactus Tours chose to ignore my attempts for an amicable refund of the difference. Be VERY aware of all charges and do NOT let them rush you day-of at check-in without doublechecking everything if you still choose to do any activity at Cactus Tours. The tour guides will now also insist it is customary to tip $50 per vehicle at the end of the tour. This tip pressure did not exist in 2022. An additional $50 tip on top of the $25 per person entrance fee, any upgrade charges, plus initial reservation fees is wild.

I enjoyed the humpback whale expedition which came with a free lunch and drinks. We saw a lot of action not terribly far from shore. They also offered a photo workshop. Believe this is more useful for folks that use a digital camera as opposed to a cell phone camera although she gave some tips on that as well. Both were complimentary (on March 11). There was nothing wrong with the trip per se but there are many parts that occurred to get you to where you end up finally. Everyone was nice but I feel like there is a drop in communication as there are too many parts of the wheel. The charter flight was about 2 and half hours so make sure you use the restroom. There is NO bathroom on board. Also for clothing, please make sure you are covered from head to toe. This is NO joke. The weather may seem hot as hades on shore except at night, prepare for windy freezing conditions (they provided a heater AND heating blankets). When you are on the panga and travelling fast, it will be windy and probably cold. However, when you are waiting for some action, you are under the sun in water. Do NOT wear shorts and bring a cover-up for your face as well. Caps/hats are all good ideas. They offered the gaiters and a wind breaker. I commend the luxury tent. This is really what you are paying for. The fact that you get your own porta-potty and running water was fantastic. The shower had more settings than my own shower. They also offer room service so if you don't want it, please let them know. The food was decent as well. Breakfast is buffet and there is a person who can make you an omelet and the lunch and dinner are plated. Honestly, unless you enjoy the feeling of a 5 star hotel, don't think it was necessary. You honestly don't have that much time to eat during this trip. The time is literally spent getting ready for and the whale excursions. There's a volleyball net, soccer goals & bikes for you but it was so windy and honestly not much time to do any of that. Happy Hour had a different "snack" each day (oyster one was awesome) but no alcohol is free except for the one you get when you get off the plane. The food and service was wonderful. Was every dish a 5? No, but you are in a place where they have to import everything. There is also a nightly 30 minute? presentation given by some of your tour leaders. This tour company had the furthest spot (closest to the airport) so you spend a good 30 minutes (travelling quite fast) to get to the area where the whales are (and don't forget the return trip). We saw plenty of whales but everyone is there to "touch" a whale. The last day there, all the boats in our area did manage to touch one and our boat collided with another panga. Luckily all, including the whale, were unharmed but needless to say, our panga did NOT touch one. It also sounded like the whales were not coming to that area as much anymore. In fact, some were spotted in Cabo. Pro Tips: You should ask they rotate the people on the boats so you're not always with the same captain or panga. If you don't mind sharing a central porta-potty, pick a tour company that is closer to the area where they gather. You will have more free time. Don't drink any diuretics before the panga rides as bathrooms are limited to nature (although some boats do have a bathroom). Pangas that are lower might be better because than when you reach over the boat, you're closer to the surface of the water and don't have to bend over as much. This is a desert area so keep that in mind when packing.

The weather is fairly moderate at that point. Chilly at night and warm during the day. But be prepared for the night time wind. Bring earplugs as the tents slap against the poles most of the night. Not Baja's fault as you can't control the weather. Also, food is decent but keep in mind this is a camp in the middle of a national park so it is not high end resort food. Very good considering the remoteness of the location. Also having your own en-suite bathroom was everything!! No cold walks to the bathroom during the night.
