This is our second time using cactus tours, and we loved it! We did the can am, side by side private tour with 3 of us in a 4 seater, and 2 in a 2 seater. With the private tour, you can take your phones and all your own pictures so that's a plus, also it's just your small group so you are stuck driving with strangers. We had our 5 year old son with us and our 21 year old daughter and they both had a blast! It gets extremely dusty so I highly recommend bringing bandanas to cover your nose and mouth. They do offer them for sale there but expensive. Our tour guy was great yohani or Joe. Don't waste the time on the tequila tasting afterwards, time wasted and they are just trying to sell you tequila. After the tasting they will try to coral you to view and purchase the pictures they took also. The pictures are really cool but I don't think worth the money especially if you paid for a private tour and took your own video and photos already! We drove to the tour location so I'm not sure how the pickup transportation service is so can't comment on that. Tourists beware! Even if you've been to Cactus Tours before, the experience has changed in recent years! We were repeat customers after an initial positive experience in May 2022 while now in December 2025 enduring random overcharges on unitemized receipts! A total of 4 of us booked a reservation through Amstar at Cactus Tours for the side by side UTVs (2 vehicles of 2 drivers and 2 passengers). Amount paid in full to Amstar a month in advance excluding the $25USD cash entry fee per person which we paid day-of. Also on day-of, we were offered upgrade options. The only option we proceeded with was to upgrade each vehicle 1 horsepower level up which was listed as $85 USD per vehicle for a total of $170 USD.  This was also explained to us that upgrading to that vehicle power meant insurance was included so no need for additional insurance purchase or security hold on the card. We declined ALL other upgrade options.  No private tour, no higher vehicle power upgrade beyond the 1 level up, NOTHING else. We provided a credit card and the staff member took the card for the transaction.  Again, the staff member insisted on upgrading to a private tour but we declined (which we later realized was because they didn't have any other parties booked at our time so it inevitably became a private tour anyway, they just hoped to get more $$ for it). He ran the card and handed us the receipt while rushing to direct us away to the locker area. Later upon arrival back to our hotels, we finally had a moment to review the receipt for the upgrade charges and saw it was actually charged $7,200 MXN (about $400 USD) with no itemization.  This isn't inclusive of any transaction or currency conversion fees, that is the amount directly on the receipt. This is DRASTICALLY way more than the upgrades we agreed to with no explanation or breakdown. Despite saying otherwise in other review replies, their website is not transparent in charges as the "upgrade" sheets they have in the lobby show charges differently than the website displays. The charge in MXN should have been roughly $3,060. I was overcharged $4,140 MXN, more than double what the true upgrade charge should have been alone. I went back and forth for days with Cactus Tours via calls and emails until after a week they finally stopped answering me completely. I'm in the process of filing a fraudulent chargeback with my credit card company since Cactus Tours chose to ignore my attempts for an amicable refund of the difference. Be VERY aware of all charges and do NOT let them rush you day-of at check-in without doublechecking everything if you still choose to do any activity at Cactus Tours. The tour guides will now also insist it is customary to tip $50 per vehicle at the end of the tour. This tip pressure did not exist in 2022. An additional $50 tip on top of the $25 per person entrance fee, any upgrade charges, plus initial reservation fees is wild. read more

Don't Waste Your Time! This place is horrible. They will up charge you on everything to the $9 4-ounce cup of coffee. Facility doesn't feel safe at all. I was so nervous for my little kids. The experience was totally anxiety loaded for any family trying to travel. The ATV's we pretty crappy- seemed there was many broken down because they weren't able to satisfy our reservation. Tried to work with them but they just ignored us. Ended up sitting around for 3 hours then learning they lied to us the whole time- they were just hoping we would get hungry or thirsty and buy food before they sent us off. I got a chai latte from their coffee shop and it was amazing!!! I 10/10 recommend. I have done these tour before in 2020 and they were $75 per person back then. It included camel back riding and a larger ATV. Picture package was around $50 for everything. Of course they have gone up in price. We made the mistake of not booking directly through them for our tours. So when we got there we were informed our $102 had gotten us the basic ATV's and that we would be riding with a large group. I personally prefer the 2 person ATV, as it is more safe and you can keep your belongings/ do a private tour. Price wise we ended up dropping another $195 per ATV for the upgrade as they call it. So another like $100 per person. The actual tours are worth it IMO. Especially the private ones, the guides are great and accommodating and it takes less time than the ones you do with other groups. The camel back riding is relaxing and mellow. So I definitely suggest you do both. The place is also a sanctuary and they rescue camels from circuses. They also now have horses in their sanctuary and they feed the stray burros. The guide told us they give the burros their own water/ the extra food from the camels/ horses. Given their sanctuary status I didn't mind the prices, but it is definitely up there. The pictures cost us $175 since they charge for amount of people in the pictures. So if you have like 1-2 it's going to be less than if you have a large group. We unfortunately were a large group so we got the pricier price. Individual pictures go for $20. Overall, I gave them 4 stars because the actual tours are nice and they are a sanctuary. But full disclosure it has significantly increased in price and I suggest booking through them directly. I booked an ATV tour online with Cactus ATV Tours expecting a 2-hour tour on the ATVs advertised. What I experienced instead was a classic bait-and-switch operation. When we arrived, we were told that the ATVs we booked were manual, and that since we had kids with us, we were "required" to upgrade to automatic ATVs for an extra $35 per ATV. This was never clearly disclosed at the time of booking. We were essentially forced to pay more or walk away after already arriving with our family. On top of that, they forced us to buy insurance and charged an additional $25 per person park fee, again not transparently disclosed upfront. By the time we started, the price had ballooned far beyond what was advertised online. The worst part? The so-called 2-hour tour was cut short to about ONE HOUR. No explanation, no apology, no partial refund -- nothing. We paid for two hours and only received half the experience. This company preys on tourists, especially families, by: * Advertising low prices online * Forcing upgrades on arrival * Adding mandatory fees * Then not even delivering the full tour length I left feeling scammed, frustrated, and taken advantage of. To preface this I will say my guide was very nice. However I booked a 2 hour "intermediate to advanced" horseback riding tour which stated it would be 2 hours long. On top of that, since you can't take photos on your own camera or bring it, I opted to pay $150 extra for a private tour because that was the only way I could bring my personally belongs, they told me. Well, first off - I got there and they told me that even though I had riding experience (I've taken lessons, gone to plenty of ranches on vacation, not uncomfortable at all at a faster pace) I couldn't do more than walking. This was the whole reason I booked the tour! If I knew I'd just be walking butt to butt with another horse I wouldn't have even gone. Even on their website and photos at the place they show people galloping or at least trotting. I'm not sure why the offer an "intermediate to advanced" ride if it doesn't exist, apparently. Second off - bringing my phone. There is a professional camera person that drives around following you in an ATV taking your pictures. Which is fine! But I also paid $150 to be able to bring my own phone so I felt weird taking many photos since I was also planning on buying their package anyway too and didn't want every single photo to be of my using my phone and they practically stalk you with an ATV and a camera, plus there was really nothing to take photos of because the views weren't that great. The ride was only at most an hour long, not two hours, and most of the time my guide spent it smacking his horse in the butt because it didn't want to move. So yeah. The ride was fine, not scenic at all except the ocean walk which was maybe 10% of the ride. The rest of it was spent walking around while ATVs zoomed around us. Not great. Once I finished the ride, I at least wanted to take a selfie with my horse (I was going to buy their photo package but I paid to have my phone too for $150!!) and my guide told me I "wasn't allowed" to take any photos of me and my horse because "he would get fired". It made absolutely no sense. Like I can't even take ONE PHOTO? What did I even pay extra for? The whole experience left me pretty bummed and feeling ripped off. The experience wasn't what I paid for, and I ended up paying around $200 for this "ride" and then paid $104 for my "photos" - it just seems super scammy to me. Had I known that this ride was going to be walking only behind a guide just hitting his horse with a rope for an hour straight and I CANT EVEN USE MY PHONE TO GET ONE PHOTO WITH MY HORSE AFTER. PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING So we were approached by a beach vendor selling local activities. We thought we were getting a good deal and were told the activities were 1 hr each. Little did we know that they were outsourcing for another company which turned out to be Cactus Tours. Their location is 30-40 minutes away from the main touristy part of Cabo. Although they pick and drop you off at your hotel, there are other guests being picked and dropped off at other hotels, so in reality the drive is about an hr each way. When you get there, there is a massive line to check in even if you have reservations. It took us 40 mins to check in. Then you have to wait 30 mins for your tour guide to call your group. When your activities are done, you have to wait another 30-45 mins for your van to take you back. A 2 hr activity ended up becoming a 6 hour affair (so beware if you are pressed for time or booking other things). Our tour guide Leon was great and we had fun but they really take advantage of tourist which really bothered me. We are already paying hundreds of dollars for the activities but they make you buy insurance (or hold $1000 on your CC which I didn't want to do), they don't let you take your phone so you have to purchase their ridiculously overpriced photo package of $100-250, and everyone wants a tip. You end up spending an additional $150-300 at the site on top of your original activity cost. And the cherry on top was that the rude girl running the photo center gave us the wrong pictures (pictures of other family) after we spent $150 and good thing I checked before leaving, otherwise I'm sure it would have been impossible to get them to send the right photos after we left. Cactus Tours, Cabo San Lucas I want to warn anyone considering Cactus Tours in Cabo San Lucas. This place is an absolute rip-off. On the beach, they promise you a set price and make everything sound amazing -- three events, buffets, tequila tasting -- all for $140 USD. But the moment you arrive, everything changes. We have been here for over 2.5 hours going back and forth because they suddenly want to charge us an additional $100+ per person for things that were supposedly included. Every time we asked questions, we got a different story. It's completely misleading. They also charge you extra just to carry your own personal belongings. If you want to bring your phone or any personal items with you, that's considered an "upgrade." Otherwise, you're forced to leave everything in a locker -- and you're just expected to trust that it's secure, even though nothing about this operation feels trustworthy. They charge for every little thing they never mention upfront. What was sold as a simple package turns into a long list of hidden fees designed to squeeze as much money out of you as possible. It feels intentional. This entire experience has been frustrating, disappointing, and honestly ridiculous. I don't want anyone else to go through this. If someone approaches you on the beach offering a "great deal" from Cactus Tours -- don't fall for it. Spend your money with a company that is honest and upfront. This one is not. read more

First thing to know (and they don't tell you as they want you to buy their merch when u r there) is bring a long sleeve shirt/sweatshirt/jacket and a scarf or baclava for the camel, Razer or quad rides. The sky bike experience was one of a kind and a lot of fun. Mary was a great "guide". We felt safe and staff was very attentive. However, that's where I have to end the compliments. Shuttle out and back was tough. Lots of p/u and drop offs, arrived 20mins late, wited in line for 30mins upon arrival even w reservation. Waited 25 minutes to get a return ride. Free buffet was hot but underwhelming. A taco bar would have been better. Perhaps adding in the Razer or camel rides would have made it worth the effort, but for us it was a bit of a waste of time and money. read more

We got picked up in central Cabo in a clean AC van with defensive driver. Once at Cactus Tours we checked in quickly and were sent to meet EMANUAL our guide for 2 events. Camels and Racers. EMANUAL explained the events and rules. Safety procedures were presented in an understood fashion. EMANUEL knew English and Spanish making it well understood what we were going to do. Long story short- DON'T COME HERE. - SOOO MANY HIDDEN FEES - Booked this excursion thru the concierge at our hotel. Paid $120 for atv, camel ride and horse back riding at the resort. They said buffet lunch would also be included. All we would have to pay is $25/pp ($75 total) park entrance fee . - Got to the tour location and turns out you aren't allowed to take your camera or phone with you during the activities - what good is a fun vacation excursion without photos so we paid for a private tour, which is the only way you can take your phone with you. - Our guide refused to take pictures of us when we asked - paid for 3 activities tour, private tour and didn't get lunch - They have photo packages they want you to buy. We were a group of 8 adults 1 infant. Paid $500 for the rental of 2 ATV. Which according to the third party it would include food, free tequila testing and kids club for the youngest one. We were picked up at the hotel. It was as about an hour drive from the hotel to their location. Once we arrived and showed payment ticket we were sold their "insurance" $95 otherwise there is a $1000 deductible. We decided to buy it because we know if anything happens we will most likely end up paying the full amount. Also, paid $25 entrance fee per person. * For parents leaving their kids at the Kids Club. Make sure you bring everything your kid might need while you are gone because they don't provide any of it. They only watch them for you. We put our stuff/cellphones in a locker because we didn't purchase their "upgrade" that will allow us to bring them with us. The side by sides had definitely seen better days, many of the seat belts barely clicked in our buggy. I m glad we had the insurance in case we were blamed for any damages! When we finished we were left to wait for 1.5 hours, no food whatsoever, and no one to let us know where to go to be in the lookout for the vehicle that will pick us up. The tour was fun, the guides were nice. But the rest of the experience was a let down for what you pay and tip. read more

Lots of Extra Charges - Be Prepared We booked through a vendor on the pier getting off a cruise, but once we arrived, we quickly realized everything comes with an extra charge. Want insurance? That's extra. Concerned about possible injury and needing medical help? Also extra. Prefer an automatic ATV? Yep--extra again. We were told to drive the ATV was 14 years old. Arrived at the place to be told minimum age is 16. You're not allowed to bring your own cameras, and at the end, they try to charge you $150 for photos. It feels like a total money grab. They did provide a bus ride back to the pier, but even that was stressful with unnecessary stops that nearly made us miss our boat. Cactus tours picked us up on time at 9am in a clean van right at our doorstep. We signed up for the side by sides/razors but once we got there we upgraded to the Maverick turbo charged which was an additional $300 per vehicle. We proceeded to a locker where we put our valuables. The upgrade also got us a private tour for our group of six people. Leon was our guide. He was excellent in every way. He made sure we had helmets that fit us and helped us get strapped into the vehicles. The ride was stunning. There were trails, open space and a magnificent stretch of beach where we enjoyed the view of the ocean and we saw whales very near the shore. With the upgrade we were allowed to take pictures. Once the ride was over, we got lunch which was provided by Cactus Tours- a burrito which was tasty and a drink choice of horchata, Hibiscus tea and an optional tequila tasting. Our 20 something son said it was the best tour he has ever done here in Cabo which is significant considering we have been to Cabo 8-10 times! Well done Cactus Tours and especially thank you to our guide Leon! Note: Take a bandana or a gaiter to protect your face from dust. Or you can purchase them when you get there for $10 each. Our family has enjoyed ATV tours for years and this is one of many excursions at Cactus ATV tours. Fortunately we pre-booked 3 double ATVs which are automatic. Others were not so fortunate and saw the cost of their tour nearly double when they requested automatic transmissions. During the lengthy checkin process we were bombarded with endless entry fees, hard pitch insurance sales, vehicle upgrades, and the options for private tours. We chose the 2 seater car option and negotiated the cost. I felt like I was at Mammoth mountain stuck on the beginner run at the bottom on this tour. We were slowly led through a flat, straight path with no turns or banked courses that were the highlight of our previous tours. As I rode on the beach I rode above the fun course that I had taken numerous times before and was not allowed to venture off of our baby path. Instead of a break on the beach with waves and excitement, we walked up a sandy path and were given part of a carrot to feed a camel which was a photo opportunity. The cute camels were fun, but this was really an opportunity for them to up-sell people on the photo package which they want to sell you after the tour. Before the tour they said that the tours lasted between 1 hour and 40 minutes to two hours, ours lasted one hour and 20 minutes even though we had one timid rider who kept our entire group tied to his slow speed. I can not imagine how slow we would have to go for this trip to take even 20 minutes more. In years past this tour went faster, on better courses and lasted the full two hours. Even the cactus education session was shortened to a single stop at a cactus that can be used as sunscreen instead of the fun facts they offered previously. It is sad to see a business so intent on extracting as much money for as little effort as this tour company. They are opportunistic at every turn, even with the pricing of the photo package. When I inquired about the cost the photographer replied with "let me check". How on earth could he not know the cost of the photos when he sells them daily? The price he gave me was $165 which is an easy enough number to memorize if you are asked that same question all day, every day. So that begs the question, how do they decide how much to charge different people? If I do return in the future, I will have negotiated everything to ensure that I do not feel so betrayed by this company again. read more

We paid cash for the 3-activity package which was close to $800.00 dollars, then we specifically asked him how far it is? because we need to be on the ship at a specific time he said, "oh 20 minutes really close"! NOT TRUE!! it took close to an hour and once you get to this building you get in a long line which was another 45 min and we thought it was just to register our names, NOPE! more charges i told the man this is ridiculous this needs to be disclosed back at the booth. Beware if you do the horse ride. My sister's saddle was not on properly and within 5 minutes of being on the horse she slid off into the dirt. I turned my horse around to see if she was okay and he BOLTED despite me trying everything to get him to stop. Then I fell of at a full gallop. We are both over 50 and are lucky we weren't more severely injured. We got our money back, but that didn't quite seem like enough. After our experience, the rest of our trip was negatively impacted because we were bruised and sore. read more

The tour itself was fun. Ventura was our guide. We did the ATV on the beach and through the desert. But just like all the tourist excursions, there's hidden fees, try to upsell you to buy better. Insurance wasnt included which was $35 more. They recommended wearing a scarf over your face to protect from dust, another $10 ea. I wish I could post a picture because they took some nice ones but that was another $100 USD. They could have included one and let us choose to buy more at a reasonable price. Do not book!! Came through a cruise and book with Cactus Tours. There was a deal 3 for 100. I was with a group of 6. Took a long drive of 40 min, finally got to the destination of Cactus Cruise. Waiting in line for another 20 min. When my group and I got to the front desk, everything was good. We signed the waivers, gave cards for insurance, everything was done. Our last step, that NOBODY told us about was a Breathalyzer test. Exactly what the hell? Who does that for excursions? 3 of my guest passed, the other 3 didn't. Mind you we were drinking mimosas 3 hours before the excursion time. And also my 3 guests weren't the ones that'll be driving the excursions, very unacceptable. We kept asking what can we do, basically nothing because we were the last time for the excursions. Can't go back the next day cause we're on a cruise & the cruise leaves at 12. We even tried to ask for our deposit back, couldn't even get that back. Definitely wouldn't recommend. read more

The journey began when the Cactus bus came by the resort to get us and before I knew it we were at the Cactus ATV park. Now, we had signed up for the $250 package, which as I found out was for a 15hp, 2x4 manual transmission 4 wheeler. Of course, Jessica wanted to be with me, and I wanted to have shade. They had "upgrade options" and wouldn't you know it, 7 categories to the right, the maximum package they offer, is the Maverick Turbo RC private tour. For the low price of just $375 more, or just $625 total for those keeping score at home, we could be in the most powerful vehicle they offer on a private trip, no convoy, no other guests, and nonstop fun immediately. Go ahead and swipe the card. Jessica and I hopped into the Can-Am, the instructor Gilbert asked if I had any experience with high performance vehicles. Just a little bit I politely responded. The experience was fantastic. We spent about an hour maxing out the Maverick, which was about 75kmph (46mph), took a break, and then another hour on a more technical course. I'll say that my countless hours at Dallas Karting Complex in Caddo came back in the form of muscle memory here, and it was just a pure thrill to be going all in through the desert, along the beach, and across nonstop terrain. Jessica asked me to drive and I was happy to take on the responsibility. Despite some tight paths, this was a tourist friendly course and we were never in any serious danger. By the halfway point I was wondering why I have not purchased one of these things yet for myself as a toy. At the very end of the trip Jessica hopped up on top of the vehicle and I was telling her she looked like a freaking action figure. She was shocked, but it's true. I've never seen her this ripped. After the end, the company surprised me with dozens of high quality photos of us in action. We saw employees taking photos, but I still don't know how so many different photographers got their media to the main office from out there so quickly. They offered a slick proposition, for just $89 I could have a unwatermarked copy of each photo they took in HD. We're at $714 now for those keeping score. I feel like when you're in Baja Mexico, embracing some off-road action is a part of the local culture. This was for sure one of the most exciting travel experiences I have ever done, and I would recommend it to anyone who is considering doing it. To me this is so much more fun than laying around a resort racking up a bill on drinks and snacks. I wanna get out and do stuff! Did the atv tour with our group, some of us had 2 seaters and the others in 4 seaters. Our tour guide was Esteban and he did an amazing job with bringing us through the desert and then the beach. We also stopped and got to see a camel and use the restrooms. Carey cash in your pocket if you'd like to buy water, wear plenty of sunblock as the tour was about 2-3 hours under the sun in the month of may. I got burnt! Reapply that sunblock before riding. read more

Super fun to take the kids. Just have to know that once you upgrade from manual to automatic, get the vehicle insurance and medical insurance you are in it for $110 per person. We did not do a private tour and ended up with 2 other couples who wouldn't go past 15 MPH. The first 20 mins was super annoying. We then spoke with the guide, super frustrated they were ruining our time and he finally let us go fast. He lost the other two couples and we waited under a bridge for 20 min for him to find them. This was a terrible experience experience. We purchased 6 tickets for the ATV tour at 4pm. As soon as we booked, they started upselling for a private tour for an additional $35 per person.They picked us up at 3:30pm, driver was safe. When we arrived, there were a huge line, full of people with purchased tickets waiting to sign in. We waited an hour in that line for them to try to upsell us --$25 per person for park pass (it's a public beaxh), $25 per person for insurance (this is a business that should have its own insurance for the vehicle), $25 personal injury insurance (urgent care immediately as you enter). If you want to waive the insurance, it's a $750 deposit. I found all of this offensive and unnecessary. Since they have a captive audience, they have a gift shop, food shop, tequila tasting are, clothing store, so you can spend more money there. We chose some $6 sodas and waters. The bathrooms were clean. Both pick up and drop off you're going to kill time because they fill the bus to the brim with so many stops. By the time we got to the front of the line with our waiver, it was 5:10pm, then another 20 minutes for them to accumulate 20 people to be on your tour. So, 5:30pm, we head out to ATV & the sun sets at 6pm. The 2.5 hour tour was mostly in the dark, so the beach and sunset views were limited. Our tour guide was decent but it was a slow tour. When you finish, they try to push their tequila tasting. More time wasted on waiting for the bus and a milllion stops on the way home. Our driver was very kind and safe. This is the most offensive tour I've ever had. We have ATV toured at others & you literally sign the waver, they hand you a water bottle + gear & you get going. Will not return. Total tourist trap, bait and switch. Entirely unapologetic. read more

This was definitely one of the more memorable experiences that we had during our time in Cabo. At first we thought we'd got scammed in the airport. First-time visitors (and we obviously look like tourists), so when we were approached by someone asking us questions, it ended with him trying to sell us something. But what he was offering was really too good to pass up, and one of the items that we purchased was a trip to Cactus ATV. We selected the camel ride and Razer tour. When we arrived at Cactus ATV, everything was pretty well organized. When we went to the counter to pay for the tour, that is where it got interesting because you will pay more than you anticipated - like if you want to take your cell phone with you you have to pay a fee per phone, otherwise you have to leave it in a locker and won't have the ability to take your own pictures. Honestly I'm not sure how the tour guides would know whether you are supposed to have your phone with you or in a locker, but anyway...So we paid to take our cell phones with us and it was worth it. There was a photographer following us every step of the way to get those great photos that we couldn't capture on our own. But of course those are not free. We ended up purchasing the pictures at the end of the tour, and they applied the money we paid to take our cell phones toward it. They gave us the photos on a usb and also uploaded them to my phone. They require that you purchase insurance to cover any damages to the vehicle, but it was cheaper than the deposit that you would have to pay to opt out of the insurance (close to $1K). They were determined to get into our pockets one way or another. Once outside we got our helmets on. Just an FYI that these helmets are pretty dirty and are shared by various people one after another - take a bandana with you (you won't be able to find one at Walmart in Cabo FYI) or scarf that you can tie around your face where it will be touching the helmet and probably your ears too. That's my suggestion. We had a really cool tour guide who gave us some education about different types of cactus plants such as which ones are safe to drink water from a which ones are not. First up was the camel ride. That was a little scary at first but also very fun as we rode along the beach. I was a little nervous that one of our camel's legs would give out because he seemed so wobbly, but it was fine and the photographer got some awesome photos of us. I really enjoyed the razor too. That was a lot of fun and we got to hit the gas on some open land. They sell food onsite, dessert, there's a gift shop and of course they offer free tequila tastings. The tacos were amazing, and the fries were too. Once we had some food in our stomachs we headed over to taste the tequila and enjoyed that so much that we took a couple of bottles home. If you're in Cabo this is definitely a place to check out. read more

In A Nutshell: -Cactus ATV Tours consists of ATV rides, horseback rides & camel rides. -You should visit their website to check their prices especially if you are staying at a resort that offers these activities for price comparison. -I did this to make sure I was getting the best deal possible, so the hotel I was staying at offered a better price. -You will pay a $25 entrance fee (per person) regardless of how you book PLUS you will have to pay $25 (per person) or have $500 charged to your credit card (where the charge will be refunded a few days later) to handle the ATV insurance coverage. -The other caveat is if you are offered the ATV ride through your hotel or even through the website you are paying for the MANUAL 15 horsepower ATV. -This is their slowest & most cumbersome ATV to ride especially if you aren't familiar w/ manual operation. -I was upgraded to an automatic for free due to the low fuel levels of the manual ATV's since I booked the 5:00 PM sunset/night ride. -This was great news since the automatic ATV's are much faster & easier to operate. -The 5:00 PM sunset/night ride was really fun due to several advantages. -The first is that the probability of you riding in a small group is highest, since most people like to eat dinner around this time. -The second advantage is riding at sunset near the Megrino Beach is amazing & after the sun sets, riding in the night was another cool element. -There are food stalls + a small bar (beers are $8 USD each or two for $12) in the ticket/processing area plus a tequila bar. -They accept USD, pesos or credit cards. -There is a well maintained bathroom as well. -The price you pay at the hotel package or directly through them includes a free roundtrip shuttle to/from your hotel. -The ATV ride lasts between 1 1/2 to 2 hours depending on the size of your group & how slow your slowest rider is. -You will be able to make one pit stop at a bathroom at a large building near the beach about 3/4 through your ride. Overall, I had a good experience b/c I got the free ATV upgrade & we had a small group of only 4 people so were able to ride really fast & free. The only downside was the long wait in line & late start from another couple doing a no show. read more

This place was like an hour away from our resort but they provided free transportation. They forget to mention that they will pick up other customers along the way. Also, the return trip is based on when they will have enough customers to fill a bus. We had to wait an hour for our return trip. This location is also the King of upselling. We had free tickets to an ATV tour but our tickets were for small ATVs that were manual and could only go 20 mph. We had to pay $50 each for bigger ATVs. Prices are in US dollars and converting to pesos will cost more than the exchange rate. Cell phones are forbidden on tours so you are forced to buy their pictures at $20 a picture. ATV insurance is $35 each or a $500 hold on your credit card. The ATV rides were fun and lasted about an hour. The tour was 2 hours because we rested near the beach and at a halfway point so they could try to sell us on camel rides. The camel rides are not worth it but a picture with a camel may be worth it. read more

We had to pay extra for: -ATV insurance (or a $700 credit card hold) -to take your phone (or $150/person for photos) -private tour ($35/person) -face coverings Do NOT upgrade your ATV/UTV because you don't get to do anything different or go any faster than the group. You drive in a straight line and the upgraded vehicles are in the back. Definitely waste of $260 for an upgrade. Don't recommend this place. Definitely a huge cash grab. When visiting Cabo and leaving the airport, we were approached by some of the timeshare/tour representatives. At first we were going to just keep it moving, but one of the reps actually got us. LOL! After talking to him, we ended up purchasing/signing up for a couple of tours, one of which was from Cactus ATV Tours, which promoted various activities. We decided to go for the camel ride and RAZR rental. And SO glad that we did! This was probably one of the biggest highlights of our trip to Cabo! Cactus ATV Tours picked us up from the resort and brought us to the location for which we were going to do the activities. Upon our arrival, it was a large mainbuilding with sections for the rental/activities, food stalls and tequila tasting. Of course, they advise to do the tasting once you finish your activities. LOL! The camel ride was super fun and was my first time ever riding a camel. Our tour guide, Ricardo, was excellent! He said that this is Dubai in Cabo. LOL! He was very thorough in explaining some of the landscape as we waited for our shuttle ride to the camels. Very entertaining! LOL! The camel ride was so much fun! We rode the camels around the area, including along the beach, which was great for photo ops. They also have a photographer who follows you around for the activities that you partake in, so that you have photos available for purchase when you get back to the main building. The other option is that you can bring your phone with you for an additional charge of $50. But, if you pay the $50 to Bri g your phone, that goes toward any photos that you decide to purchase. So it really works out and you get both the professional photos as well as photos on your own phone/camera. The second part of the activities that we did was the RAZR. That was super fun! A four wheeler, two-seater vehicle was your chariot and you drove it along rougher, hilly terrain as well as along the beach in the sand dunes. Talk about getting some hang time in the air! LOL! That was a ton of fun! Once you return back to the main building after all your activities are completed, you are likely hungry. So there are a couple of food stalls where you can grab something healthy or something not so healthy. LOL! A burger and fries was the perfect finish to the activities, and a perfect start for the tequila tasting! LOL! You get to try at least three different types of tequilas, all of which are available for purchase. These tequilas are only available in Mexico, so it's definitely worth the purchase. I opted to buy two bottles of tequila which tasted great! If you are ever in Cabo, definitely try out cactus ATV tours! You will have tons of fun and will not be disappointed with your experience! If you get Ricardo as a tour guide, it will be even more of a blast! LOL! read more

Just say "no" to all the upselling (it was ridiculous even for Mexico)! Pros: our guide was terrific, the ATV was comfortable, and the scenery was beautiful. Cons: just about everything else. The bus driver who picked us up wanted tips. The check-in is a total scam. The upselling included: buying a damage waiver for the ATV for $25, a medical waiver for insurance, a 5HP more powerful ATV for $50, and a "private tour" for an extra $150 which allows you to bring your own camera. Otherwise, NO CAMERAS ALLOWED! If you decline everything the clerk becomes rude and walks away. Next scam: the locker girl watches you and demands you leave your cell phone. You can only bring it if you buy the extra $150 package. Then they try to sell you overpriced beer even though they say you can't drink before riding the ATVs. The last scam is the $150 charge for a "photo package" at the end. FYI you can buy an individual photo for $20 each. It's a shame because the tour has so much potential. read more

I'm going start by saying that most of us had a great time on the camel ride and the ATV excursion that we took through Cactus Tours. There are just a few things to be aware of: first, don't pay full price. There were deals everywhere. From the airport to our hotel lobby and half the restaurants, everyone had a deal better than the next guy. Even our Uber driver offered a discount. We got our tickets BOGO by listening to 90 minutes of a timeshare presentation. (We had absolutely no intentions of getting a timeshare, we just wanted the spa credit and discount tickets.) Once at Cactus Tours, be prepared for a bait and switch - you're shown a picture of the ATV you rented and then a large glossy brochure of all of the awesome machines you can upgrade to. You don't want to be on that "pathetic" ATV with barely any horsepower, do you? You'll be warned of all of the charges you can encounter if you don't buy the $25 ATV insurance. Once you see the condition of the ATV's you'll realize that the insurance is a rip-off. These machines are seriously beat up. Be prepared, if you don't buy the insurance they put a $250 hold on your credit card. You'll also be asked to buy health insurance for an additional $10. There is a sheet of waivers that you'll be asked to sign saying that you deny the extra coverages. If that doesn't strike a little fear into you, then I don't know what does. We could EASILY have spent another $100 each and that's before tips, pictures, souvenirs and the "free" tequila tasting. If we would have opted for all of the "extras", by the end of the day we could easily have spent an additional $250 on our "half price" ticket. We were assigned a locker and told to leave all of of our phones and cameras. It's not that you are risking damaging/losing your phone as is implied. It's to make you buy photos from the photographers who follow your group around. While most of our group complied and left our phones, we still saw a lot of people taking pictures. Decide for yourself. We were given a brief overview of what we'd be doing, were taken across a swinging bridge and fitted with helmets, goggles and given a little more information. Then it was on to the machines. Only one guy in our group upgraded. (More on him later...). We were shown how to start and stop and were shown a few basic hand signals then were off. The initial part of the trek was hairy - steep, rocky and rutted. I honestly thought I was going to either roll myself over or go off the edge of the trail. (It got much better and I'm glad I stuck with it). We went over and around and finally arrived on the beach. Once there it was full throttle! That's when I finally relaxed and had a blast. Halfway through, we pulled up to the camel stables and trekked up a rocky hill to get to our animals. There were probably a dozen or so camels, some lounging around, some tethered for our ride and two toddlers in separate pens. (Careful, the little boy bites!). There are restrooms, water and a snack bar available. We were introduced to our caravan, led up a platform and were helped to mount our camel. Our camels were led to the beach where we bounced along, watching whales spouting and just enjoying the ride. I could not imagine going across the desert for days on a camel. Not the smoothest ride in the world! We were led back to the pens, helped to dismount and then regrouped on our ATVs. From there we opened up on the open beach. I had my throttle all out as I sped along the sand. It was a blast! After a good pace, we turned around and worked our way back to where we started. To be honest, I was still a little scared going back up that original hill. Oh, and that guy who upgraded? He was screwing around the whole time and he got himself so stuck that he had to catch a ride back on the back of our guide's ATV. Maybe more power isn't such a good thing after all! By now we were hot, filthy and thirsty. But no worries, the free tequila tasting awaited. We tipped our guide (We had to, poor guy doesn't get paid and relies solely on tips to support his wife and kids). We were ushered back into the facility and directed to a bar lined with bottles of tequila. Our host told us what was available and let us choose two. We were then told all of the tequilas that were for purchase and how they'd even wrap them for us to get them safely home. We were directed to a monitor to look at our pictures (we skipped out on this), told about the gift shop, shown the bar and snack bar and then left to wander around to find our way back to the van to the hotel. All but one of us had a great time. She said she couldn't be paid to try that again. I know I'd do it again - I'd probably skip the camel ride - been there, done that but a couple of hours racing across the sand with the ocean breeze in my hair sure sounds like a fun afternoon! read more

You're not allowed to take your cell phones unless you pay more. Because they want to sell you pictures that their photographers take you have to be ready for all this UP sales that happens when you go on vacation, especially down south. They pick you up and drop you off. It's about an hour drive from Los Cabos to their location. this was an experience that I would only do once, with them but enjoyed it. read more

The only good thing is views by the ocean are amazing! I pre purchased the combo pack with the ATV and camel Ride. When we arrived the front desk receptionist did nothing but upsell us. The private tour is not worth it. Yes you get to take your phone but the guide is not allowed to touch your phone. It's pretty hard taking pictures in a bumpy camel or while trying to be safe and drive your atv. It's pointless to do the private tour unless your willing to pay for the picture package. Might as well buy the pictures and save money on a private tour. We were able to get some pictures by using our tripod and also asking some of the beach goers that were near by...they didn't mind :) The guide had a attitude the entire time so that also was a bummer! Would try another company next time I visit Cabo! read more

Went here some time ago. The guy who came with us was horrible. My wife and mom had some trouble riding their atv and he told them to "f**** hurry up" in front of me. He cursed at them because we were left behind. The vehicle was too heavy for my wife's hands so it took her some time to adjusting. The guy who came with us was rude and an ass****.
