I did find some negative reviews about Chris, but he took that issue head on and had no problem explaining to me what was going on with those FEW negative reviews. If I could give zero stars I would. I had scheduled a viewing of an apartment with Jason Coooer. The day of the viewing he asked if he could push it 30 minutes back, which I agreed to. Once I got there and was looking at the apartment he tried to speed me through looking at the place. After HE pushed the meeting back! Although Jason was horrible, I really liked the apartment (there was no broker's fee) and proceeded in putting a deposit down to hold it for me. Him and the landlord requested a 2 months deposit down. I have now been informed this is ILLEGAL in NYC. However, I was from out of state and these things always vary. In hindsight, I would've been more cautious. I signed for the apartment March 13 and lost all of my jobs March 16 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Since it was no longer a feasible option, I asked the landlord if I could get out of the lease, seeing as it had only been three days and given the circumstances, I thought he could be reasonable. The landlord gave me 2/3 of what I had put down upon signing, but said that Jason would not give him back the other 1/3, which he used to pay the broker's fee. This is also ILLEGAL. I would strongly advise not making any sort of real estate deal with Jason Cooper or anyone affiliated with him. Not to mention the few comments he made about my looks during the viewings. An extremely bad and possible illegal experience with agents from East Coast Realtors. First, there's something fishy when all the reviews on Yelp are either 1 star or 5 stars. Through my real estate agent, my family found a great apartment. However, the listing agents from East Coast Realtors (Arthur Hong and Jenny Hong) were the worst realtors I've dealt with. We ended up signing a lease, but the initial lease had many sections that were illegal in terms of tenant rights so needed to be pointed out by us and changed. We agreed that we would meet the listing agents at the apartment to exchange the remainder of the deposit, fully executed lease, and apartment keys. So my wife, sister, and cleaning person met with Arthur and Jenny at the apartment and noticed that the AC filters were not replaced as my agent had told me the previous day. We asked them why it wasn't replaced. On closer inspection, it was a screen that just needed to be cleaned so all good. However, on hearing our initial complaint about the filter, Arthur became agitated and furious, started pointing and screaming at us about how the filter just needed to be cleaned. I tried to explain to him that I agreed with him and it was just a misunderstanding, but he just didn't listen to any word I said. He finally took the filters and stormed off to the bathroom. Jenny had to chase Arthur out of the apartment and then gave us the signed lease and apartment keys and tried to apologize for Arthur as having a temper control issue. Arthur then came back, still furious and yelling (enough to alert the neighbors to come out) about how he didn't need tenants like us (as if he was the landlord), forcibly pried the lease from my wife's hands, said he's canceling our lease, and ran back outside so I ran after him to get the lease back, by which time he ripped the lease into a few pieces and challenged me to a fight for wanting the lease back. I felt like I was in some sort of bizarre movie. We finally had to call the landlord ourselves to explain the situation where the landlord had to deal with us herself regards to the move in to give us our lease and get our remaining deposit. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and REALTORS association already but I can't believe East Coast Realtors allows people like Arthur to work for them. Avoid Arthur Hong at all costs if you can. My husband meet with June one of the agents I could not make the meeting he is Hispanic he loved apartment I reached out to her for an application she never responded when he finally got in touch with her she said that they feel he don't make enough money!!! Can't understand the negative reviews for East Coast Realty on Bell Blvd. in Bayside. Then again, any dealings I had with them was with Millie Hong who was a complete professional and took care of everything. I call him to talk about it he gives me a fake story about how busy he is and then tells me the prospective client to follow up with him. Huh? Who does that ? Had the pleasure of speaking with Jason Cooper. Called me about an apartment and he was not pleased when I said I wasn't moving for a month (crazy concept to look for an apartment a month in advance) and he gave an attitude. As a BROKER, he did not offer to show me other apartments or contact me when it was closer to my move in date. These brokers want to collect a months rent in stupid broker fees from us without actually doing the work as a broker. Just want a quick tenant with no work involved. went to see an apartment that Jason cooper was showing on the recommendation of another agent and when we got there, we haden't even gotten to the front gate yet and he was shouting "no cats, no cats!" like a lunatic. Didn't even greet us or acknowledge we had travelled out to meet there or really that we were even real people that existed. Here's a good reason to jump ship on a broker: when he threatens to sue you because you don't feel comfortable renting an apartment anymore. I felt so anxious and worried during my whole experience with Chris Aivaliotis and regretted calling him. He was asking me for random information he clearly didn't need and pushed me to sign and give him his fee as soon as possible. He didn't even stay throughout the whole lease-signing process, instead rushing off to the bank to deposit his commission check. If I didn't love the apartment so much, I would have ran for the hills. The only reason I'm giving him 2 stars is because he was attentive and actually returned my calls when I had questions.... Actually forget it. 1 star. NO ONE should feel threatened when trying to rent an apartment. recently relocating to NY from San Francisco and doing some house searching. Change upon a few listing by this east coast Realtors, Inc. They list whole bunch of rental listing on the Trula, douglasinfo.com and craigslist with no detail address and no mls info, only their phone number. Once call them, the guy who answer the phone is very rude and not helpful. Keep asking me for the completely address and mls # and the funny thing is the listing they post on line has no address (e.g. 244ave and 54th st, little neck and no MLS # and they said they can't not help me unless I give them the completely address and MLS#. what a bunch of idiot that waste my time. read more

Another story. My gf and I are moving from California, and on a trip out there last weekend, she met this guy. Long story short, she gave Chris A. a check for his fee *before* seeing a lease. Mistake on her part, and judging by the reviews so far, you can probably guess the rest. Needless to say, he was not available to provide a lease. The excuses were: "the owner is a contractor and isn't home until the evening -- I'll get it from him then." "The owner's father is sick in the hospital, and I don't want to bother him. Don't worry, I will get it on Friday." Today, I called him and demanded he refund the fee, to which he said that he'll refund it when he "feels like it", and "this is New York, this isn't California." Ha! After telling me not to call him anymore and hanging up on me, my gf reported the funds had been transferred back to her account. Phew. BIG HASSLE, and yeah, this guy is very shady. It's hard to say he did anything outright illegal, but he's clearly got some kind of scam going, and is more than willing to take money from people who don't know any better. Not even sure what his scam could be, because he is licensed, and presumably does (on occasion) find apartments for people -- maybe he uses nice ones to lure people in, strings them along, and eventually tells them ithey're no longer available only to offer worse/more expensive ones? Who knows? We know enough to steer WAY clear now. read more

I worked with Chris Aivaliotis. The most dishonest broker I've EVER met. Doesn't care about what you need, just cares about his commission. Approved my application for an apartment. Then wanted me to sign a lease with: 1. no price on the apartment 2. no length of time for the rental 3. no included utilities. And he also tried to increase the price of rent on me. Told me it won't go fast, highly desirable... etc. Said the landlord changed his mind on included utilities and they'd all be up to me. Also told me at the last minute that the rent was increased and more than the advertised price. But I would be fine because I had a cosigner. Seriously. I told him I wouldn't pay the increased price, my apologies to the landlord. All of a sudden the rent price started dropping a little. "Well, can you do this price?" (New "lower" price was still higher than the advertised price.) Oh, and he only returned my phone calls/emails AFTER midnight. Highest of all all application fees in Astoria. You won't see this $ again. Passed on the apartment. Do yourself a favor- don't even work with this guy. He'll try and screw you over. It's a shady market. But there are better people out there. This guy is the bottom of the barrel and was the worst one I met. read more

I hate to leave negative reviews but.. yikes. I'm honestly shocked by all of the positive reviews about "Sketchy Chris" as we like to call him. We came to see a house we found on Craigslist.. fast talker is right, I agree that some of his ways/mannerisms may be a part of have Native NYerness but his lack of accurate information and facts was not. We were told our house had parking in the back, that it was in a historic neighborhood so they could not update the old windows (who points stuff like that out?? we noticed once we move in a house two doors down had replacement windows), he said we could get a dog with a pet deposit, of course he never mentioned half of the $1,500 deposit was NON-REFUNDABLE. He also mentioned that everything in our house that could be updated had been... Umm this house has clearly not been updated since 1950. He told us the electrical was updated yet every time I use the microwave it trips the breaker. The house was also listed by another realtor group and after discussing how uncomfortable "Sketchy Chris" made us we did call it. That agent was very confused as this was their exclusive listing. She called the landlord who said she did give him keys too. Perhaps this should have been a sign to my landlords own character flaws too. We tried to drop him to work with the other company but landlord would not agree to it. So we were stuck with him. The process to get him the security deposit was, like others said sketchy but it did get to the right place. Basically had we known the facts about the house vs. this beautiful situation Chris had painted we would have kept looking... without him. In hindsight we take ownership that we didn't get things in writing or confirm before signing however being caught up in a total relocation we weren't as thorough as we should have been. Lesson learned. We will likely move as soon as our lease is up. read more

I know many realtors in the area but they didn't have the real estate knowledge and experience that Tim brought to the table. He always responds quickly to my questions and concerns and was available whenever I needed anything. I liked that he didn't pressured me to work exclusively with his firm. He always check with me before bringing over clients and he has PATIENTLY brought over many! He recently found me a fabulous tenant and made sure a credit check and a background check was done before the lease was signed. We have to give wonderful praise to Gail Pon! When we started looking for a new house, the first broker we spoke to not only wouldn't show us her listing (even though it wasn't in contract yet), but she also told us she had no time to show us any other listings. It was the complete opposite with Gail. She met up with us almost right away to not only see her listing, but to also see many others too. She was patient, detailed, and responsive. We soon closed on a new house with her. After that, we hired her to sell our old house and we didn't even have to go to market! She had a buyer that she had shown around for months, with utmost patience, whom we let into our house to see if we could work out a deal. The buyer gave us an offer very close to the price at which we wanted to list, so everything was done so quickly and efficiently. My three roommates and I had an overall great experience with Chris Aiviolitis. Read on! After our management company screwed us and decided they were not extending the lease on our apartment, (which they'd been promising to do for two weeks before finally dropping that bomb) and then some contentious back and forth, my 2 roommates and I were left with a couple of weeks to find a new place or be in a really bad situation. One roommate made an appointment to see Chris on a Friday night. The apartment we viewed needed much improvement and did not have 2 bathrooms like we wanted. When we asked Chris if he had better 3 bedroom 2 bathroom apartments, he said yes. He drove us (in the Jaguar that's been mentioned in a couple of reviews) to another place that night, but he did not have the correct keys to get in. He did us the courtesy of dropping us off back home that night. The next day, Saturday, after we saw some apartments with other brokers, Chris again picked us up and showed us another apartment. This one had two bathrooms, but at this point I was getting frustrated because again the bathrooms needed updating (As did the bathrooms on the other apartments we'd seen.) Once we rejected that apartment, Chris promised that we would look at apartments every day until he found us one. I had my doubts about his ability to deliver on that promise, but I appreciated the persitence. On Sunday Chris picked us up and had two apartments. One he decided not to show us; even though it was available, it was above a bar and he knew that wouldn't work for the three of us, who all have demanding full time day jobs. So more points for knowing the customer. The other apartment he showed us (the one from Friday we initially couldn't get into) wound up being the absolute winner. 3 huge bedrooms, updated bathrooms, modern appliances in the kitchen, lots of natural light, huge living room, the works. It was everything we'd asked for and more. Though it was at the top of our budget, this place is totally worth it. Chris made sure that the owners put a door on the third bedroom (it had been removed since that room was being used as a dining room by the prior tenant). After we all sat down, he pretty much ensured that we would get this apartment. No seeing if there were other tenants who may be interested, none of the games that have been mentioned in other reviews. Monday we turned in all of the application materials and he let us know that we'd been approved. So basically, in one weekend Chris found us a great apartment. Yes, all brokers have a certain amount of sleeze to them. Chris told us a lot of stories, including all of the ones mentioned in the other reviews. Whether he met A-Rod or the Prince of Brunai is irrelevant to me, since at the end of the day he got the job done. And took the three of us out to dinner after the initial lease sigining! If you've never dealt with real estate agents before, then you're going to get distracted by the wrong things, like the stories he tells. And anyone who hands over money up front with no guarantee is not making a good choice. Chris was generous with his time, easily accessible, and committed to finding us an apartment. The broker's fee was one month's rent, which is better than the 10-15% of an entire year's lease that other broker's ask for. The few things I did not like: -when we went to sign the lease, the owner was not there. Chris had a generic lease that he handwrote in some blanks for us, and that does not look very professional. Does it hold up in court? Yes. But is it worth the fee? No. Do better on that, Chris. I was unhappy that we were filling out paperwork without all parties present, but it worked out in the end so it was fine. -Prior to making arrangements to sign the lease, I'd asked Chris if we needed to bring certified funds. At 1 p.m. on the day we were signing the lease, he calls me and tells me to tell everyone to gather certified funds. Chris. I asked you about that already!! Fortunately we were able to accomodate, but I would have appreciated knowing that beforehand before having to make a mad scramble after I got off work and before our meeting (which was scheduled for 7 p.m.) -I don't know who East Coast Realtors is. We split our broker's fee among two different companies, Venus Realty and Omega Realty. Overall, Chris did a great job finding our apartment, and I will be recommending him to friends/colleagues in the future. read more

Chris provided a great moving experience for my girlfriend and I from Manhattan to Queens. He was world's apart from some of the other less-caring realtors we dealt with in the area, and had a variety of apartments to show us - all in great areas. A typical New Yorker from the area (in a good way), very straightforward and humorous. He was honestly a breath of fresh air from the typical realtors in the area pushing the only property they have on you. Was very prompt with all paperwork and communication. He also came into the city meet us to sign the paperwork, saving us a trip. Highly recommend this guy! read more

I have received attorney letter from Kathy Chung Soo Chung demand commission, but contract was from another agents. She find zero buyer and demand commission. The contract didn't go through because buyer was rejected by the board members. This agent has psychological problems and makes headaches. Becareful who you hired for selling your house. read more

Chris Aivaliotis is a top notch agent in Astoria. There's a lot of reasons why, but I'll give you the low down on why I think he is. First of all, my girlfriend and I were relocating from Boston to New York for my new job. Our time was very limited and we had only a couple of weekends to find the perfect place. We worked with half a dozen so called 'agents' that did nothing more than turn keys and expect a commission. Chris, however, went above and beyond. He met us promptly and showed us two places in the heart of Astoria. We settled on one and gave him an application fee immediately while enjoying some souvlaki on the side of the street. A few days later, Chris said that we were approved for our place and we sent him a check for the first month. Here's the kicker. Just as we were signing the lease (two days before move in) Chris called me in Boston with some bad news. He said that the current tenant at the place we chose was refusing to move out. Therefore, we were back to square one. Chris scrambled and found us a place that was ready for immediate move in. We drove to New York the next day, looked at the place, and signed the lease. If it wasn't for Chris, we would be homeless without a place to live. Chris really is the real deal. He's a fast talking, no BS kind of guy, but I like that. He gets the job done. I would recommend Chris to anyone that's looking to relocate to Astoria and I will use him again in the future. read more

Ok here's the skinny on Chris A / East Coast Realtors / Voro USA / AmCred loans - yes I signed a lease on a place found by him and all of these companies or names were used at one point. He is a Greek New Yawkah. What do I mean? He is fairly blunt, make some sly comments, quick talker, and may come off as a slick rick kinda guy if you don't know these kind of people or if you're not a native NYer. That is what some of the other reviews may have eluded to just not verbalized correctly. He does drive a pretty slick Jaguar (that others have mentioned) and some of the "meetings" we had were what you could classify as "shady" (ie I gave him a security deposit in a staples parking lot). His AmCred loans website mentions that they elicit "high risk loans" and he DID (as others have mentioned) "explain how un shady" he was (showed me PBA card, black AMEX, celebs he's rented to and the like). I did get a bit frustrated in that we had to move the official lease signing AFTER I paid him a security deposit (simply made out to "TK" - again, a little shady). We moved the appointment TWICE once noting the landlord was away for July 3rd (which it was) and the other noting the crisis in Greece (which they ARE Greek and there IS a crisis in Greece). So all of the details aside, yes it was what you would consider a bit "unorthodox" and if you're not a NYer and don't know the blunt arrogant NY attitude you may get a bit uneasy. BUT He dealt with my bullsh*t, he got me the apartment with minimal conflict, we chatted Greek politics, and he does seem to know everyone in the neighborhood. He actually helped me get $ back from another broker where my lease fell through due to inflexibility of move in date and gave me a bit of background on the other broker (who he would certainly tell you is a "bad motherfucker"). Don't be intimidated, it made me lol but he was right. The dude knows the ins and outs of Astoria, probably been around the neighborhood is whole life? I think others reviews may be a bit biased in that they just aren't used to that NY attitude. Don't expect a sweet little southern belle to show you apartments, he's a typical NYer but nothing awry with the way he conducted business with me. My two cents, if you have to pay a broker fee it doesn't hurt to have a bit of an entertaining interaction with the broker. Think of it as you paying for a show. I AM moving into the place where others have mentioned "Yanni" and I met him. Haven't had to deal with maintenance yet (haven't moved in yet) but he seems ok, a bit lazy/goofy perhaps but again nothing out of the ordinary and I have nothing to judge by. Remember guys, these are apartments in Astoria Queens (at least mine was) not a doorman building in Manhattan. You just need to know what comes with the territory. read more

I found my apt listing on Craigslist and was able to view it the same day after calling Chris A. He showed me the apt same day and I was able to meet the super for the bldg while I was there, which was helpful. I've never had a problem getting in touch with Chris for questions about the apt/bldg. Signing the lease was scheduled quickly and was straightforward. Good experience overall. read more

If I could post zero stars I would. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! Not only did they do absolutely nothing with our home when we gave them the listing, but when we terminated our contract only 3 weeks into it, they threatened us with attorneys stating that we still owed them a commission for doing NOTHING! We, the homeowners created our Zillow account, updated it, and monitored it. Once East Coast took it over, it was dissected, the wording in the description didnt make sense, and our agent never updated the site with all the pictures we sent. When I texted her, she didnt even know who we were. It took the owner George two weeks to respond to our numerous calls and emails requesting that we end our contract. Once he finally released us and we were able to gain access to our Zillow account, we updated the site, added the pictures and within 24 hours, East Coast took over the Zillow site WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION-IN FACT WE HAVE AN EMAIL FROM THE OWNER TELLING US WE WERE RELEASED! Two days later, we still cant access our Zillow account and of course NO response from the owner. We have contacted LIBOR and Zillow. What this company does it unethical, illegal, & should lose their license! read more

Last week, my daughter set up an appt. to see a Queens apt. with EC Realtor Jason Cooper. When we arrive; Jason greets us and brings us into the apt. building. He then attempts to open the apt. door which is locked. He apparently has no key. He calls the building super who explains the apt. was locked in error after a prior showing. No one is available now to let us in. There is no apology; just the assumption we will come back another day...Jason suggests we see another more expensive apt. just 5 minutes away. We initially express interest but, then see the location was over 10 minutes away....We leave with the promise from Jason that he will make sure this apt. is still available for us to see on Monday...He seemed puzzled at my irritation and confusion over why a realtor would meet a prospective tenant without definitively knowing they had apt. access. He presented very unprofessionally all around...And, interestingly enough, when I go online now; the apt. in question is no longer available. read more

Look through the overall 4-star review, there either 5 star or 1 star. From all the 5 star reviews, that really makes us questioning. We believe the few 1 star's more! Actually we would give a negative 5 stars if have! Miss Bing Wang found our house self selling advertisement on the newspaper ，and hoped to be the exclusive representative realtor for us，she promised to sell more than our net profit, which is a really attractive point for us. We had our final contract with her on May 25th, on that day, she said she once had a client's house listed for $1.56 million and sold for $1.68 million by her. Moreover, Our trust for her also based on some text messages before contract. For instance, she said she's ambitious to sell near or over the bidding price. Thus, we asked twice for bidding price before signed which she insisted the ＄1.32 million . However, it is incredible that she took the picture of our house on May 30th but ask us to cut prices largely from $1.32 million to nearly around $1.2 million on June 3rd，within just three days from listing, her excuse through out the text message is the house price around our area from $1.1 million- $1.2 million, and all have advantages. (Meaning that our house has the same price range.)Also in such a short term, we could never possibly see the strong advertising that she promised in the contract. It's so unusual to rapidly cut down the price. We couldn't believe that a professional realtor can estimate the price of a house around $100,000 difference just in three days! What we curious about is why she didn't be honest and tell the real estimate price before we signed the contract? Even though this is not our ideal price! Now our problem is if Bing Wang told us her real estimate price, we would never do contract with her , because our bottom price $1.3 million had been told to her formally by text message before contract and is showing on the contract as well. Now we would not except the big change suddenly after contract! In order to release the misleading contract, me and my daughter went to East coast company to meet Bing Wang's boss George at June 20th. Bing Wang already told George for our meeting and George knew the case before we came. However George did not show any apology on either the miss leading contact or Bing Wang's asking for cutting about $100000 only three days after our house has listed and without fully advertised as promised. George frist words is "Bing Wang is a good girl，she made a lot of money for me！" Then " you must have met 100 agents before ，you should knew the estimate price yoursife before the contract ." Also , ＂You asking for release，that is because you met other agents behind our company and found buyer already！" "tell me who gave you the release form ，I can sue him for $5000." I was desperately looking for apartment. The boiler in the house I rented is broken. In order for them to fix the boiler, they need to breakthrough from my basement studio and reconstruct the whole basement. My landlord asked me to move out temporarily but I decided to move out instead. This was on 9/29/15. And I have to leave before winter officially comes. I found Chris A from craiglist under Voro realty. Before I contacted Chris, I contacted many brokers and most of them are very sketchy. They posted what have been rented to lure you to their agency. I was looking for a specific studio in between Astoria blvd and broadway AND steinway and 29th st. Some of them asked you to visit their office to discuss what I am looking although I have specifically mentioned the area and my budget. Some of them scheduled you without your consent. I dont like wasting my time to look for a room outside my area, especially when I still have 30 more days to hunt. In Chris' post, he told us the specific address where the apartment is - which is 2 blocks from my current studio. When I sent him a text, he scheduled for the viewing immediately without asking you to call him for a background check and other interrogation. I appreciate this part well because I have a busy work life and cannot spend 15 minutes phone call with no certainty outcome. One good thing about him is that he maintain a good connection with his customer. He showed me and other prospective tenants to one girl's studio and the way he communicated with her is very friendly. Some of other tenants also greeted him well. To me, it means he is a trusted agent and not the sketchy one. When I paid a broker fee in his car 2 hours after the showing, he called the current tenant to ask when she is leaving. I can tell there is nothing "fake" about the conversation because of how friendly it sounds. He made the application letter pretty easy without too much fuss of this and that, which is a plus to me. I managed to sign a lease for November 1st moving on October 8th 2015. Now I can relax finding apartment. Overall experience is great! However, I feel the broker fee is much higher than most agents I talked to. And Due to high demand of that studio, the application deadline is also pretty short. I guess that's how it is to find a high demand room/studio/apartment with a broker in nyc! I am thankful of him to choose me to be the future tenant despite of the high demand of that studio. It means he trusts me as a good tenant, although I don't need to submit landlord reference letter. In NYC where all brokers are competing with each other, it is hard to find the trustworthy one. To me as his clients, Chris is one of the well trust-worthy one with no bullshit. read more

In my experience with Chris, I would say that his greatest attributes are that he is very responsive and that you can count on him to give you full disclosure about his apartment listings. I contacted Chris on a Sunday afternoon and he responded to me within minutes and gave me all of the information I needed to know about the apartment he had listed on craigslist. I had almost signed a lease with another building, but his timely response allowed me to explore another option without risking losing the other apartment. I ended up foregoing that apartment and signing a lease with the apartment that Chris brokered. The apartment was just as he described it to be. Brand new, well designed and under great management. We met with realtor agent Cheng Wang to see the apt at Elmhurst on 41-25 hampton st.elmhurst NY. She was rude on the phone with us and also with someone else on the phone who said they would be a it late like 10 mins and she said she could not wait for them. She was very very rude and in professional , the worst agent I have ever come across. She was demeaning and kind of judge us without trying to explain anything about the property. She said quote "if u like u buy if u don't like u don't buy" and the tone was just rude. We wanted to see the apt but her tone was just shroud and the rudeness ticked us off and we decided not to see it. Customers are meant to be taken care of especially when it's an investment such as buying a house. She needs to get a bloody training. read more

My wife and I met with Chris Aivaliotis of East Coast Realtors, Inc,, who was what you could classify as a total scam artist and low life slime ball broker. We met with him at an apartment location after finding his listing on NakedApartments or Craigslist. Chris began with a 5 minute speech on why he's an honest guy, and how other brokers are shady. RED FLAG!!! He was hesitant on giving his last name btw. If you meet a broker named "Chris"...ask for his last name. Once thinking we were warmed up, he then proceeded to show us pictures of his "Brazillian wife", and had lots of tall tales designed to impress us I'm guessing. Chris started name dropping as he sold an apartment to A-Rod and Kevin Durant, and is personal friends with the Sultan of Brunai, or some other famous prince. Made us feel small. As other tennants walked by...he bragged about how he rented to everyone in the neighborhood, while slyly making fun of a particular gay resident (Chris said the tennant was gay). In his defense...he did give us a ride to our next appointment, but we had to hear him brag about his fancy Jaguar and told us lots more tall tales. I think his quote was..."you don't drive a car like this if you're not successful". We felt like taking showers afterward. But it gets better....The apartment he showed us was actually pretty nice, and we were ready to make an offer at the price it was listed for. Chris then said it was more expensive the next day than advertised when we followed up. Said we could have it at the price we wanted, but had to move in right away, despite the ad being for a later time than was advertised. Chris Aivaliotis told us that if we wanted the apt for the advertised time, it would be more expensive. I think he even went on (after we called him out on his BS...keep reading) to tell us "we couldn't afford it". Oh Chris Aivaliotis, you are a gem.To make matters worse (for him), he said that the Management Co. had tenants ready to move into the apartment...for the date we wanted. ??? The apartment was Advertised for March 1...but he was telling us we HAD to move in by Feb 15th if we wanted it at that price. If your lost, so were we. We asked him why the complex would post an ad for an apartment that was already rented. The sound of crickets was the answer.The next day...in a really douche bag way...Chris Aivaliotis texted me that "I rented that apartment", in a lame attempt to crush our hopes and dreams I'm thinking. Whatever the case...he was LYING, as we saw the same place with another broker who confirmed there were no aps on it...A WEEK LATER!!! The management company confirmed that they had NO aps on the apartment...and it was available for the price we wanted, if we wanted it, when we wanted it for. Aha! Truth be told, if Chris Aivaliotis had been honest from the get go...we may have even looked passed his anti-gay tall tale ways, as we just wanted the apartment. Instead, he tried to squeeze out a few more dollars of rent per month and spun himself a web of falsehoods. He obviously lost out on the deal.Funny thing is he continued to text us (after he said the apartment was rented), and told us he could still get it for us. It's almost comical. We obviously went with another broker...who actually called Chris Aivaliotis a total slime ball broker when his last name (Aivaliotis) was mentioned. He's known for doing this!!! He also writes his own reviews...as you can see by the only positive comment on this forum. =)This is the worst agent in NYC...total scam artist and a liar. If you meet this guy...STEER CLEAR of East Coast Realtors. Shady as they get. Even other brokers know Chris Aivaliotis, and will tell you he's the worst.PS...he has TWO cell phone numbers. One with a Long Island Zip, and the other New York. Maybe one of them is for the Prince or A-Rod when they call. Lol. read more
