I used to buy there for years never had an issue until I picked out a ring to buy and I asked him can we do 100 he said yes of course, I'm gonna take it to the front and when you're ready, I'll check you out, I'm ready to be checked out the manager, tall white guy his the one that gave me the ring for 100 told me like three times yes 100. anyways he changed his mind when I made a line and everything he said no u could have it for 300. Be careful with this scummy pawn shop. I went in personally to ask for an extension on my stuff and they still went ahead and sold my stuff. Now since my valuables have been sold they tried saying they called multiple times. Why would I need to answer a call if I went in for an extension but they didn't apply it. read more

I went into this pawn shop about a week ago with a ton of scrap silver jewelry. They proceeded to test some and then tell me some isn't real. I was like okay how much will you offer for the real stuff mainly the 2 one Troy oz silver coins. His offer was insainly low around 40% of spot. When I questioned it he said these exact words " I'm giving you 90%" I quickly checked the price of silver then since most was 925 I x .925 his offer was way way under I told him that's not 90% he then said these exact words " well we haven't updated our prices yet" if he was offering 90% at there non updated prices they must not of updated it for at least 5 years. I also had a 4.5 gram 18k gold scrap he offered $200 not as bad as the silver but still extremely fishy. There are tons of places to get 90-95% or quick 85%. These guys are running a scam show or something I would stay far far away. They have no idea what there doing they try to pull a fast one on you. O and the "fake" silver scrap I bring in I took to other places that use the xrf gun 80% of what they said was fake ended up being real. Not going to lie there was some fake pieces but they were stamped and I was able to toss the ones that wasn't legit. A few days before Father's Day my gave me $200, two $100 bills to purchase a bass guitar and amplifier. I put the money in my front pocket and drove to ECP. I walked in the store and I notice a couple of bass guitars hanging up. I reached in my pocket to retrieve my reading glasses to read the tag on the guitar. The bass gutiar is not what I was looking for and walked out of the store. I reached in my pocket as I was heading to my vehicle and discovered my $200 was missing. I quickly retraced my steps back into ECP. I saw one of the employees asking, whose money is this? I indicated it was mine and he gladly returned the money back to me. I value ECP honesty and will make an effort to purchase something from them in the future. read more

I was looking for a PlayStation 4and went on Yelp to look for some local pawn shops, East County pawn came up and they had good reviews and I was close by so I decided to stop by. As soon as I got inside I was greeted and was asked if I needed any help, so then I knew that they were a super friendly staff. And when I had some questions about a certain PlayStation 4, the guy that helped me answered all my questions so that helped ensure me that I was getting a good PS4 and at a great deal as well. I needed to pull my laptop out for work. It was very important. I drove all the way from point Loma to El Cajon to pick it up. I arrived at 5:56 p.m. but the employees wanted to leave early so they had already locked the front door and refused to let me in. My entire job was compromised all so these employee can get home and watch Netflix a whole 5 minutes sooner than if they would have got off the time they're supposed to. What a joke! Last time I did this place my business and I suggest everyone reading this look elsewhere. Besides the rates here are the worst in the entire county. Spanky's down the street will give you more for just about anything. Hope that 5 minutes was worth it. Not to mention the gas. They try to accommodate you in the best way possible.They do their best to work with what you need to pawn then figuring what they can sell it for in the end. I took my mother & I to sell a few pieces of jewelry as were strapped for cash and they were SO professional and polite. They nicely told me that my bag was unfortunately not real (they did not say fake which made me feel so much less embarrassed lol) and apologized so sincerely for not being able to take it, which was SO appreciated even though it wasn't necessary; just an above and beyond type thing! My mom got way more for her jewelry than we both estimated so the value is amazing too!!! My mom can be a little impatient but every single employee was professional/polite and made us feel like our time was valuable to them! This is the first & only pawn shop I will prob go to; East County is SO relaxed with funny & obv. happy employee's while maintaining true professionalism at the same time! In the future I plan to go back to buy my first big jewelry purchase I wish I would have gotten their names but the blonde (possibly manager?) woman was so sweet and the taller man that rang us up was VERY patient and polite. I have done business with these people for many years I know recently a few years back they changed owners but they've always been a decent enough business to work with until today I picked up my ring today right around closing time on Sunday at 4:30I we signed for the ring and we went out to the car and I sat there looking at the ring at my daughter pointed out how the ring Stone was not the same Center Stone anymore I looked carefully at the ring and I am positive that the stone on my ring has been changed they took my stone out and replaced it with one that is a lot less valuable I am livid about this I am disgusted about this and I'm going to take legal action but I'm telling you if you're going to go take your jewelry there beware they switch stones read more

I recently came with a gold belt that retail cost around $350 and wasn't expecting to get the exact amount obviously. The belt had a minor scratch on the gold but not noticeable at all when worn. He then went to speak to the manager to figure out a cost and i was offered $30 for a $350 belt.. These guys dont know the value of anything and will just slap a price on anything. After the fire the old owners just seemed to have had it with dealing with it anymore. I have been going there since the they were on Jamacha Rd. But the new people there are cool and very customer friendly. Unless you play the musical instruments that make it sound like fingers on a caulk board. Thing to think about is.
