I've went to Simon's for over 9 plus years... Seen multiple different owners over the years and over the course of 2-3years I probably hadn't came around since I was no longer in the area of Lemon Grove. But recently, I went back and met Alex and some of the other ladies... They really fixed up the shop and had some nice things in there. My personal experience here from back then til' now has been a good one. Owners/Staff have always been very nice, helpful, understanding and sympathetic to those in need. I don't know who others have dealt with but for the most part I've had a good experience here so far over the years and most recently with Alex and ugh I forgot her name but she was just the absolute sweetest as well... Came into Simon's today for the first time in over a year. WOW what an amazing job you have done bringing this place up to date. Also the employee's are no longer holstering their guns at their sides. This place looks amazing. I just wish that they had a bigger earring selection. Their employees are very nice and extremely helpful. They have PS3 remotes here for sale for only $29.99 instead of the $54.99 for a brand new one. They have a selection of musical instruments as well as fishing equipment and power tools. This is a great place to come and visit. I have been coming here for over 25 years and this was my favorite visit ever. They even have lay away if you have 20% down. I pawned my ps4 and the guy gave me back a toatally diffrent ps4. I was told he factory reset it because of a mistake. I was cool with that since i know my passwords. I signed in normally and downloaded my games. Upon trying to turn on my ps4 I discovered that i CAN NO LONGER connect/sync any controllers( i tried 5 different controller) by usb like how it should be. Never had a problem with my controllers like that in any way. I am still trying to find a way. I called about this complaint and he claimed to have done nothing. I even tried ps4 remote play and even the ps4 name wont even pop up read more

I have rarely been met with such kindness and appreciation at any other establishment of this kind. as soon as I walked in Mery welcomed me with a smile and willingness to help that is incomparable to any other establishment offering the same service. I have been going to them for over a year when in need of a quick loan. They have always gone out of the way to help me . Even buy giving more then I was supposed to receive for what I pawned to make sure I could pay the bill I needed.when I would go to get my pawn back I always purchase more gold and they always make me a good deal. I have been a customer for years. I started out getting a loan. They have always been able to work with me on payments. I also just recently bought a beautiful ring. I placed it on layaway. I payed it off on Monday and they are going to size it and fix one of the prongs, and they quoted me cheaper then The jewelry repair shop on the navy base. As if anyone just wants to give their belongings away... Soon as I walked in, there were already 4 people waiting ahead of me. One of the service reps stops appraising some guys stuff, and asks me outloud if I wanted to pawn or sell. Everyone waiting before me turns around and faces me, so i asked her if it was too much trouble to resume helping the man she was already assisting. Instead she decides to look up the value for my items only to inform me that she can only give me $10 for a 2013 tablet. So I left. The only thing they would do is give me $10 and turn around and resell my tablet for $150 or more. Parking is limited and "Every man for himself" with almost no way out of the lot. Zero stars is what we should be able to put on businesses like this one. I walked in today to sell a gold ring. Anyways to make a long story short they offered me $100 less than another pond shop. Then the rip off artist lady at the counter says the gold was not 14K it was slightly under 14K. 3 other pawn shops had offered me almost double of that being offered here. That's just bad Business. Before you sell or pawn anything here try other shop and see a big price difference. You'll won't come back here for sure. Also there electronics are only $20 dollars less than buying them new. Went into the store the other day to take a look around and see what offers they may have. Price wise things are pretty good and they do have an interesting collection. My problem, and the reason for two stars, is the customer service. I'm not sure who the two ladies were inside, but they were all consumed with their conversation and did not say anything but hello. I was looking at jewelry for a good five to ten minutes with no one coming over. Sorry but if you don't have the time for me, I don't have the time to shop at your establishment. read more

I have reported this company to every organization that I can think of. Their rebuttal to me was that it was my fault that my bracelet was lost by them. They claimed it was a bracelet that they stole previously even though we brought in pictures of the missing bracelet. They said I happily took the money they offered that my husband gave them to get my bracelet out. I did not. I wanted them to check all of their inventory to find what was mine. The owner, Rudy, was extremely rude and has now accused me of slandering their store. They claim that the bracelet they gave me was my daughters. It said 1# mom on it. Rudy was very rude and wouldn't even look at the pictures that we brought in. Prior to this incident, we had gone to them for years. I thought that my items would be safe, but we have now noticed that a men's bracelet and chain are also missing. Rudy is arrogant and claims that the law is on his side. I have reported them to the Crime Division of the San Diego District Attorney's office hoping that they can settle this horrible ordeal. They claimed my husband pleaded to get the bracelet. He stated he did not. He just asked for the bracelet, which they weren't supposed to do. Their comments on the consumer website I reported them to, basically blames us for them losing my bracelet. They are crooks and I plan on taking them to court for everything. I will not let this go as this was a priceless piece of jewelry that they most likely sold or melted down. We had been paying on our items every three months without fail. They claim slander, well I claim theft. I see that some of their other reviews are not positive. I did report Lemon Grove Shoe repair, but unlike Simon's, they made the effort to find my shoes and I got them back. This place didn't bother to look. Rudy, the owner, is rude and doesn't care about his customers. It's all about the money to them. David is a very nice guy. He was nervous, but tried to be understanding, but Rudy or Rudolfo, claims the law is on their side. It is not. I'm moving forward with as many claims as I can. I wouldn't recommend anyone to this shop. There are better places to get money from when you need it. They take advantage of people's situations, give them the lowest price for their items and then will not work with you. Like I said...don't go to them if you cherish your items. read more

This has been under new ownership since last December & you can really tell! Not only do you get more $$ for your items, but you are greeted by people who really want to help you out! I quit coming here about 3yrs ago when I was treated so rudely by the girls working here. They acted superior & like they didnt need my business altho the pawnshop was completely empty! NOT A SINGLE CUSTOMER! Today I decided to stop back in becuz I needed a quick gift for a friend & boy was I impressed! I come here when needed and in the past I have always gotten friendly, understanding and quick service but this time around - NOT EVEN CLOSE! I'm not sure if this lady is new or what but she greeted me with nothing more then attitude , suspicion and rudeness. Really unfortunate and sadly I won't be coming back here.
