Shortly after my order was confirmed and charged, I got a phone call from the store saying and I quote "When you buy online, we don't make any money, so I am cancelling your order so you can give us money." I am pretty sure that his goes against corporate policy. When my husband went into the store to pick up what I had ordered, the guy at the counter was acting dumb saying how what I ordered was "out of stock" online but they have it in store so he can pay for it to him directly. If it was out of stock online they would not have allowed me to place the order. A truly shoddy way to do business and super dishonest, I can't stand it. Needless to say, I will be following up with corporate and never doing business with this or the other location in Anchorage again.

As we were leaving the store, she noticed glitter leaking out of it. Within about five minutes of normal use (which, considering it's a squishy toy, means squeezing it), the item completely split open and glitter went everywhere. I initially sent my daughter back into the store on her own to return it. The owner refused, claiming he saw her "put her nail into it." She doesn't even have nails -- she was simply showing him where the toy had cracked open. I then went in, and he still refused to return and refund. He stated that once items leave the store, he won't warranty the item, despite the fact that this happened literally minutes after purchasing. Instead, he continued insisting my daughter somehow caused the damage with her nail. She is 14, so not a small child tearing things up. Needless to say, I will never shop there again. Poor-quality products, overpriced merchandise, and terrible customer service. Rather than standing behind the items he sells, the owner seemed determined to come up with any excuse possible to avoid refunding $20. What a joke!

Hops is relatively smallish for a Hallmark store and is staffed by a revolving door of kids who provide poor customer service. This store also doesn't sell full lines of collectibles you expect from a Hallmark store. They will inevitably have a few cute items- stuffed animals, Mickey, super hero, seasonal stuff... but its hit and miss.

I called back thinking my ornament was ready for pickup, but silly me they were just calling to scold me on how I made my purchase. I was told that they are a ship to store facility so they are essentially shipping orders to themselves and losing money when someone picks that option. When I placed my order there was a NOT a pickup in store option, as you can see in the photo posted. I told the lady I spoke with had pickup been an available option I would have done that. She continued to "educate" me on their poor back end business practices that a customer has no way of knowing. So yeah won't be shopping there again.
