Do not do business with the people at Hops Hallmark!! I had placed an online order for some ornaments as I do most years. Shortly after my order was confirmed and charged, I got a phone call from the store saying and I quote "When you buy online, we don't make any money, so I am cancelling your order so you can give us money." I am pretty sure that his goes against corporate policy. When my husband went into the store to pick up what I had ordered, the guy at the counter was acting dumb saying how what I ordered was "out of stock" online but they have it in store so he can pay for it to him directly. If it was out of stock online they would not have allowed me to place the order. A truly shoddy way to do business and super dishonest, I can't stand it. Needless to say, I will be following up with corporate and never doing business with this or the other location in Anchorage again. read more

The worst customer service I've experienced. My daughter purchased a $20 "mystery bun" squishy toy -- already extremely overpriced! As we were leaving the store, she noticed glitter leaking out of it. Within about five minutes of normal use (which, considering it's a squishy toy, means squeezing it), the item completely split open and glitter went everywhere. I initially sent my daughter back into the store on her own to return it. The owner refused, claiming he saw her "put her nail into it." She doesn't even have nails -- she was simply showing him where the toy had cracked open. I then went in, and he still refused to return and refund. He stated that once items leave the store, he won't warranty the item, despite the fact that this happened literally minutes after purchasing. Instead, he continued insisting my daughter somehow caused the damage with her nail. She is 14, so not a small child tearing things up. Needless to say, I will never shop there again. Poor-quality products, overpriced merchandise, and terrible customer service. Rather than standing behind the items he sells, the owner seemed determined to come up with any excuse possible to avoid refunding $20. What a joke! read more

Great ornaments at Christmas time, great attentive staff, and decent value for good products.

I appreciate all Hallmark shop's. I am always able to score quality gifts, wraps and cards here. I love this Dimond Center location especially, because it is near a main entrance. Employees are welcoming and helpful. I love that Hallmark carries melanin cards and the overall randomness of the gift selection here. The little sale corner in the back of the store is not to be missed. Christmas items were spread throughout the store today with most items being in the back row. I was able to leave with everything I needed. I love that they have extra long bags for your Christmas wrapping paper. Nice touch. Highly recommend this Dimond Center Hallmark. read more

So irresponsible. They are selling live African dwarf frogs with improper care requirements and marketing them for Christmas. The animal abuse has to stop, so many frogs will die for no reason. This is horrible, they are irresponsibly profiting off the pet industry in exchange for a money grab. Absolute waste of a business. Not to mention their price gouging in general for everything else. I went to the mall with my friends yesterday. I went with my younger sister, and 3 other friends. After about two hours of being there, we went to Hallmark. I was planning on getting something for my mom because the next day was mothers day. In the store my friends and my sister went to look around near the back, i was looking at stuff near the counter. I purchased a bag of chocolates with my debit card, I put the card back in my pocket when I was done. I found My sister and one of my friends, Jay. My sister said that one of the workers was being rude. The manager was walking around the store and my friends said he was following them and being creepy. Right after I put the card in my pocket the manager asked me "What did you just pun in your pocket?". I was really panicking so it took me a while to understand what he meant, I showed him my debit card and he told me and Jay to get out immediately. He grabbed Jay's shoulder and when she asked him to stop he just kept touching her. We got out as fast as we could and shortly after my sister and the two other girls came out. Jay was having a panic attack because she had trauma from older men, the manager touching her made her extremely uncomfortable. We gathered at a table near Hallmark and waited for about 20 minutes while we were telling our families about this. I called my mom while we were waiting. One of my friends, Anne, called her stepfather. He met up with us after 20 minutes. My friends and Anne's stepdad went inside Hallmark, My sister and I stayed outside because I was too scared to go back in. I saw them talking then the manager kicked them out. They were all standing just outside the store. The manager tried to deny everything, then one of the cashiers came out. She was on the managers side and claimed everything we said was just "Wishful thinking". Jay had another panic attack after she said that and started crying. The cashier took a picture of us with her phone, we're all underage. The manager and cashier went back inside but Anne's stepdad got security. Me and Jay ended up writing a statement. Just please never go to Hallmark in anchorage, the manager also works at 5th ave. read more

I hear the a member of your store is treating costumers like crap. Sorry, but I refuse to shop at a store that has a manager treat there customers poorly because they don't want to buy things that a manager is trying to push to sell. We get that push to sell is part of any job. Fast food they try to get you to go large or try a new item. Pet stores try to get you to get the food on sale or toys or even groom packages that are on sale. We get it! Up selling is apart of any business, but if someone says no thank you then take it and accept it and let them buy what they want to. You will still make money. You treat your costumers poorly because they don't want the item your trying to up sell then you will loose most or all of your customers. Take all your reviews and make better on your company. read more

Just came in to buy an anniversary gift and was showing my friend pictures of what I'd like to have on it. While I was doing so, I was asked to leave by the manager who also called himself the owner of the store. I felt a little discriminated against because of the way he spoke to me. I come here a lot for cards and gift wrap around birthdays and christmas, but recently i had a pretty negative experience in this store. I went in to get a gift bag and a card for a friend's birthday and the selection was good and i got what i needed, but the lady at the counter was extremely short with me and wasn't pleasant at all. I was in the store with friends, and after I paid they pointed out some items they wanted me to look at and the lady followed me like i was going to steal! I didn't even walk behind a shelf or anything, I made sure to stay in plain view of the counter. It was just really insulting that she thought i would shoplift, and more insulting that she made it so clear. read more

To Everyone who lives in the Anchorage area be aware of the Hallmark in the Diamond Mall. I went there the other day to pick out a present for my work's gift exchange party. The manager immediately approached me and shoved a very expensive item in my face and demanded that I buy it. I politely refused to buy the item because I was on a budget and didn't appreciate his attitude. I then walked to the other side of the store to look at different items and the whole time I was browsing, I could feel the same manager's eyes staring at me as he followed me through out the store. As I picked up the item I was going to purchase, the manager grabbed it out of my hands and said, " leave the store now." You weren't interested in anything I showed you so I don't want you shopping here! Right after this incident occurred, I called corporate to complain about what had happened but they more than likely condone this rude and irrigant behavior because I haven't heard a word back from them at all!!!! Please avoid what I went through and purchase a item from a store that appreciates there customers. read more
