I never usually eat chicken fried steak with white gravy, fried okra, great northern beans and cornbread, but today i felt like being bad so i did and what a great decision to eat here. Everything tasted like mamaw made it back in the day. It was all so good and yep i'm hurting now, but this place is great. Fantastic service as well-couldn't have been any friendlier people. Each table has local business cards, so if you are in need of plumbing, tutoring, electrical, contractor, you can always look on each table to get an idea! We have been east end residents for over a decade and East End Cafe is one of our favorite local spots. The food is always good, service is always great as well.... But you do have to bring a side of patience with you when you come during 11:30-1:30, and at dinner time on the weekends because it's always so packed!! read more

The food is pretty good and nice, friendly atmosphere. The reason I can't give more stars is because of cleanliness. The mens restroom was gross. It has matted up greasy dust all over the walls. I actually felt the need to clean it myself a little to see how easily it would come off. It came off very easily so makes me wonder if they are so lazy as to not wipe the dust off the bathroom walls that guests use daily, what does the kitchen look like that guests cant see?? ....please fix this East End Cafe. We love this place but cant let this go unsaid. Update... bathrooms have now been cleaned , but for the love of God please clean your supply and return air grills!! I waited tables for 5 years and I've never seen anything as bad that place. Captive audience is the only reason they have any business at all. Whole family loves coming here. Plenty of good options on the menu and the staff is friendly and helpful. Dinner time is usually packed so we prefer breakfast and lunch times. We haven't been going as often due to COVID and heard there was a recent outbreak with the staff. Not surprising, they work hard in a small building packed with tables/customers. My go-to for breakfast when I'm home. I live about 15-20 minutes away and it would be easier for me to fix breakfast, at home, in my pajamas... but I continue to go here. The biscuits and gravy are heavenly. The service is great, sometimes slower because they're usually slammed around breakfast time, but that shows you how good the food is. I love this place. read more
