Great park to stretch your legs in! I was there today and saw a nice big buck deer near the parking lot. I walked some trails, the river nearby was very calm and almost like glass. Lots of birds and other wildlife along the river bank. We had to climb over a big tree that had fallen across the raised walkway. read more

Wow... Kingwood area is so pretty. I have surprisingly never been to explore this area. I found this gem of a park while looking for fishing spots to take my dad. Beautiful trails with wood covered paths to walk on. The paths lead you through a beautiful tree covered forrest. Kinda makes you feel like you are in another park of the world. One of my favorite walking trails I've been on. Dog friendly that also welcomes bike riders. There are several different trails to go on and the map is located in the front so you can choose yourself. We wanted to go to otter point where we heard is an awesome covered fishing spot. Everyone in the area is very nice and welcoming. Kinda makes me want to move there! I definitely recommend this trail to anyone. A way to get fresh air during this pandemic and to get away for a relaxing walk while enjoying the scenery. It was a good day! There is a giant alligator you can see at otter point that people come to see. Unfortunately we didnt catch any fish but the water was very murky with low visibility.. not to mention super hot! Sometimes it sucks to live in Houston far away from true nature and beauty. However, listening to my sister and then discovering about this mini-forest trail was wonderful, though not overly like any country adventure or as fun as hiking through the back woods. The walk was still enjoyable. If this park doesn't give you the inner adrenaline that you long for from living in the city, try enduring these paths at night or when the sun falls..you'll definitely feel like you were meant to have fun in another light. The trails were well taken care of: granite gravel, a few benches along the paths, some small ponds and even a bayou. Although, I had a good time walking I had wished there were more scenery, but that's what I get from living in a polluted city as well as a flat area in Texas. Most of the trees were pine and tall, others were doing back bends and laying down. The park is located off of a busy suburban middle class house neighborhood with lots of incoming and out-coming cars. The parking is limited. I'm sure Pocky had a good ole time. read more

Absolutely my favorite place in Kingwood. I moved here in 2010 and I always found myself going here every week. The trails are really nice, with loads of outlets to water. The park is really big so you can take different routes if you come more than once. It's also an awesome place to take your pets! Overall I genuinely recommend coming here if you are in the Kingwood area. read more

If it's not Memorial Park, it's East End. I absolutely love East End. In fact, I would prefer it way more than Memorial Park! Unfortunately it's so far out. But if I had the time and day, this would be the park that I would be at! It's HUGE! I always feel at peace when I'm at this park. The huge trees, the trails, just everything about it. There's posts that provide a map for you to take a look at. The trails are wide enough and made out of gravel. If you go off trail, you'll be on dirt trail depending where you're at. There's a lake where I've seen a few teenagers jump off from a huge cliff and from a rope and into the lake. Don't ever come here at night! I did that once and was scared out of my mind. And I was with a guy friend and my dog and was still scared. Haha don't do it. I thought the park would be well lit. Booooy I was wrong. If I didn't live so far, I would be here almost everyday. And the closest thing for me unfortunately is Memorial Park. Which isn't so bad though. read more

This is a beautiful park for bicycling, hiking, having a picnic or just taking a walk. There are miles of decomposed granite paths and lots of wooden paths over the wetter areas and lots of water front along the East Fork of the San Jacinto River. There is a map available at the entrance to the park on Kingwood Drive. Sometimes they have paper maps available for people to take but there is a laminated map of the entire park that you can look at if there are no maps available for you to take. Be careful with your dogs along any of the water areas. I have personally seen a couple of alligators in the river itself. You will see all kinds of wildlife. There are lots of birds from small birds to great blue herons and white egrets. I have seen bald eagles and Golden Eagles in the park several times per year. It's a great place to visit. Just remember to take out what you bring in. read more

I love this park! I bike and jog at East End Park 4-6 times a week at varying times of day. I also take my family for walks on the nice, shaded trails. There is always plenty of parking, but even when the parking lot is full, the park doesn't feel crowded. There are so many trails that if you run into a lot of people on one trail, you just try another. This is also a great place to take your dogs. There are a few spots where dogs can swim, and of course they love it. There seems to be an unspoken agreement that dogs can be off their leashes (this is obviously not the official rule), and it has never been a problem, aside from one or two wet dogs brushing against me as they passed. Unless you are a total grouch, this is not a huge problem. I would recommend wearing lots of bug repellent if you are walking. The bugs can get pretty bad out there. A few years ago, there were a lot of horseflies, but I haven't seen any this year. As other reviewers mentioned, the maintenance out at East End is very good. The trails are clean, crews come out and clear underbrush from the edges of the trail pretty regularly, and I have even seen volunteers out there doing things like hanging up bird houses. There are lots of nice boardwalks over the swampy areas, and they are in great shape. They get a little slippery when it rains, and I wouldn't my seeing some grip tape in certain spots, but it is only a real problem on a bike. One thing that really impressed me actually just happened. A tree fell across the trail during a storm on Saturday, and it was already gone by this afternoon. East End Parks is one of my favorite parks in the Houston area, and one of my favorite things about living in Kingwood. You can get there via the Greenbelt system from any part of Kingwood. If you haven't been out there, you are missing out!!! read more

This park has probably the most well maintained dirt, gravel, and boardwalk trails I've seen anywhere. Great for a quiet walk, or to tear through the trails on a mountain bike. The sign does say it's for Kingwood Residents and Guests only, I'm not sure how well they patrol it, but it's a good reason to be a Kingwood resident or befriend one! read more

Nice escape and trails were good enough for our stroller. Parking is limited and they say you need a sticker, which are free for Kingwood residents. The office is located down the road closer to highway 59. Lots and lots of Mosquitos. But don't let that deter you. read more

Awesome park I discovered today! I really felt at peace on this trail. I only took the south look to alligator alley, heron lookout and otter trail. I want to go back and do the rest of the trail. The trail wasn't over populated, the wooden bridges are maintained and the trail is well maintained. read more

I went after a rain so some of the trails were cut off. What I did see was great though. You could hear all of the animals that were living in the park which is a very good sign. Would love to bring kids (and big kids) here so they can see all of the animals and connect with nature. However, bring mosquito spray so that it's a pleasant time instead of an itchy time. read more

YOU MUST HAVE A "K" STICKER TO COME HERE, otherwise you will be towed. This is for Kingwood residents only. That being said this is such a beautiful park. You can walk the trails, or jog. You have a beautiful open field to the right as soon as you enter for yourself or your kids to sit, and have a picnic. There is so much space to explore, and you can actually reach the water if you go far enough. This is a popular place for pictures for Kingwood photographers, but they've gotten very strick about that. As too many people are coming to this area to snap photos. So beware you might be lucky enough to not get towed, but they're not afraid to tow so just know there's that's possibility. I love this park, and enjoy it everytime I take my family. read more

This park is great!!! Right on Lake Houston. Has so many paths. Great for biking, running, taking pictures, walking. Nice open field to play ball with the kids. I have 2 golden retrievers and they love swimming here! read more

What's not to love about East End Park? 200+ acres available to Kingwood residents to hike, bike, fish, run your dog, etc. I love hitting the trails and seeing all the wildlife. It's a great perk for Kingwood residents. read more

Took my girl scout troop for a hike at East End Park. I had no idea it was there, but I'm glad one of the dads recommended it. It was great! A lot of gravel trails and worn out paths. One of the paths leading down to the water had a wooden path through the wooded area. It felt like we were out in the middle of nowhere but were actually just outside a Kingwood neighborhood. It was incredibly quiet and all we could hear were the bugs. It is a huge park, with a lot of wooded area. My husband started running there in the mornings, and it's really given him a lot of motivation to keep going. read more

I just want to say I'm glad I found this place. I had been walking the greenbelt trail for a while now and was starting to get bored of the same path I walked so I checked this place out. It is only for Kingwood residents and their guest. I luckily have and aunt who lives in Kingwood. This place is great I went hiking and took my camera. I got plenty of great shots and it's really peaceful. I kept wondering if I might see a gator but didn't when I went. There are plenty of maps along the trails so you always know where you are. Every thing is maintained really well. Great for biking, hiking, jogging, etc. I will also say because the trails are dirt and gravel it was a lot more easy on my knees that some other trails. The most beautiful place to walk or bike. You ride along the lake at night the crickets and the frogs are like music. Nothing like it.

Don't worry about the scare tactic "No Parking" reviews. There are no legal tow signs at this park. If you don't want to risk being towed, park on the city street just outside of the park. Then walk in and enjoy this beautiful space. read more

I've been coming here for 7 years now. This place is beautiful and always kept clean. The trails are great for a family day out.
