Tree House Books - Interior of the store with lots of books ready to go

Tree House books represent the best of what we have to offer to our brothers and sisters in our…read moreneighborhood. Come here for inspiration and you will surely find it. A great staff awaits you as they are stocking the shelves with treasure after treasure. As a writer looking to get published, I can't wait to one day see one of my books on their shelves. Until that day. I appreciate the inspiration I have each time I visit such a wonderful establishment.

Tree House Books is a *free* bookstore - but so much more as well…read more The books are free for the taking, but I'd hope that you'd leave a donation if you can. If you have books you'd like to donate for other readers to take up, keep this place in mind. That's how I found it - looking for a place to donate gently used books. I assumed (incorrectly) that they only needed children's and YA titles for the many kids involved in their out of school program. But in fact they also have books for adults. A true literacy center. So I'll be back with the many non-kid books I'm parting with. I wasn't taking on more books during my visit, I was getting rid of them. But glancing at the adult section shelves, I saw several of my favorite books there. The staff are friendly and welcoming. And after dropping off a box of kids' books, I received within 24 hours an email thank you, which noted the number of books I had given and suggested an estimated value per book - in case I might need some documentation for a tax deduction. That's wasn't my motivation, but it speaks well for the organization that they attend to thanking donors. Stopping in on a weekday afternoon, I found ample street parking available, and had a spot right in front of the store. Will be back!

Excellent little book shop that caters to the romantic/fiction/paranormal readers out there. Not…read moreonly do they have books they also have cute charms and mugs. For such a small store they even have a small sale section roughly 20-30% off title price. Friendly staff always there to help. Authors come by all the time to do book signing! Amazing dynamic we have here. Got me a cell phone charm, cat lover's delight, will come back again!

[Out-of-Towner Review]…read more I'm pretty sure TT told me about Cupid's Booksthop I had a moment to stop by, so I happily did! Little did I know this area was soo cute and heavily trafficked! Parking was a nightmare, but it was worth it. But the Manayunk neighborhood is adorable! So, they claim they are the "city's first brick-and-mortar romance bookstore." But I did find another that also claims this too! Regardless, I'm ALWAYS going to go to a #romancebookstore! I also happens to walk in during an #authorevent, where Lily Larkspur was signing "Merry Meet Again. Lily said if Hallmark movies were my jam, the.n I'd like her book, so obviously I got it. Signed, and all I honestly don't need any more books (WEIRD to say), so i browsed for a good, long while. But finally, I settled on a book with the edges sprayed in a soccer ball pattern -- the girly tomboy in me loves a book about my fave sport The bookstore, all 600 square feet, is extremely packed full of all romance genres that are very visibly labeled. They also have adorable merch, clothing, and tons of romance trinkets. But BY FAR are the Cockmark (bookmarks) that are so unassuming Also, just down the street is the brand new Thrillerdeplia, a horror and thriller bookstore! I didn't have a chance to swing by, but I'm adding it to my "to do" list! Philly has a limited selection findependent bookstores but Cupid is worth a visit!
