Nicole did a fantastic job on my haircut. She has cutting techniques I had never seen before to keep the fullness but get rid of the weight of my thick hair. The salon is nice and so is all of the staff. Nicole is very pleasant and easy to talk to, and prices were reasonable. I found parking right across the street, which was great. So I'm actually super bummed. I went in with high expectations for my stylist and a lot of nerves because I don't like change on my hair. Well, what I asked for and what I got were two very different things. I was in contact with the stylist and balayage was the approach we thought we were going to have to take. I showed her what I wanted and it was a mix of ash brown and a little blonde. Well I turned out red. All she did was add toner to my hair, which also sat on for an hour while she did another client....... I know it's just hair but I would have paid the extra money to have it turn out the way I wanted. Next time, I will only be going to a salon in Clio my family truly recommends, even though the drive is far. read more

Not happy with my hair and the outcome. I went in for a consult to talk with Stefanee last week and discussed what exactly I wanted and agreed what we were doing for appointment and felt like I got something completely different. My roots were a totally different color and when I told her she said I don't see it. So I sent a picture when I got home and you could see the difference. I felt like I was not listened to . The whole hair outcome is nothing close to what I asked for. Just not very happy with the outcome of it and experience especially when it cost so much to do it. Definitely not the best experience I've had. I just moved here out of state 2 months ago and was hoping to find a great new stylist to do my hair. I just not sure why this would be okay. My lady hair stylist told me that because Stefanee used a 20 volume in my hair it caused my roots to lighten the way that it did and my old hair stylist used a 10 volume. I even shared the lady stylist notes with her showing her what exactly I have been doing with my hair with my last stylist and going forward. But obviously did not achieve that. read more

I have now been to East Main Salon and Spa twice, and both times they have been nothing short of wonderful! The first time I went, I made an appointment for a hair cut. Amy cut my hair, and I was super happy with her work. I have a lot of hair, and it often falls flat. She managed to put more volume in my 'do, which is wonderful. When my in-laws came into town, I booked an appointment for my mother in law and me to get manicures. Vicki was amazing and super friendly, and she had a great selection of gel polish and nail stamps, which I was happy to use. The place itself is also absolutely beautiful, and everyone seems to take pride in their work and their workspace. I will certainly be returning for future beauty needs. :) read more

Went for the first time. Old hairdresser moved. Looked online and chose Rachel just from bios. Salon cute inside. Nothing special not as fancy as other Salons in Brighton but cute. Rachel very friendly. Hair trim was great. Problem was/is color and cost. She talked about hilites/low lites. I assumed ( shame on me) she meant my hair color the hilites and she was going to add low lites( a shade or so darker).Wrong.....she added almost platinum/ super light blonde to my hair. Who does that in winter? Again, very hspoy with trim. Comes time to pay....total $172.50!!!! Yes you are reading correctly. I was there an hour and 45 minutes. A pharmacist...6 years of school makes $60 per hour. Be very cautious and get a tital price upfront and clarify hilites vs. low lites. read more

The quick of it - it was a nice experience, but not worth $48 plus tip. I called on a Thursday afternoon to see if they could fit in one pedicure. They were willing and able to see me so that was nice. When I arrived at the salon, I parked in the public parking area behind the building which is free. It was difficult to find the main entrance from there though, which was frustrating due to the heavy rain. I tried the side entrance which was locked, so I finally went around to the front. If there is space, I suggest parking right on Main Street. I was offered hot tea and was brought upstairs where the nails are done. It was a well organized area, nicely lit, and the technician put on some music. There were only two chairs that I saw. The pedicure itself was good and there were plenty of colors to choose from. The pedicure included a soak, sugar rub, foot massage, callus removal, cleaning cuticles, and polish but the equipment was less than adequate. The chair was comfortable but all it can do is swivel and lean back, no massage features. This may be able to be remedied with one of those massage chair mats at least. The foot bath was nice and hot, but was just a nice bowl with some stones in the bottom. I think this salon is fine for a manicure, quick polish change, or to clean up some calluses on your feet but not a very good value for a full pedicure. It would be more reasonable if the cost wasn't so high given the lack of equipment. read more

If you are looking for someone to give you amazing highlights, go to her! The salon itself is adorable. It always gives me an "at home feeling". Prices are extremely reasonable too. Beautiful new salon & spa in Downtown Brighton! I followed Vicky, the nail technician, from a different salon in Novi. I now drive from Berkley to Brighton every 2 weeks to get my nails done by Vicky. She's amazing - has a wonderful variety of colors and brands. I prefer the OPI or Gelish gel manicure. Besides that, we have formed a friendship that I truly enjoy. The salon itself is always busy with very polite staff. There is a spa area upstairs with Dawn. I have not personally gone to her for any services but I hear she is wonderful - specifically with retinol peels. Highly recommended! read more

I've gone to East Main on two separate occasions. While I was happy with my color and cut both times, I think there's some room for improvement. I wish they didn't double book. I know many salons do this to maximize profits and efficiency, but it made for a frustrating experience both times I visited. During my first visit, the stylist finished my color and had me sit at a shampoo bowl for 30 minutes while she put the color on her next client. It was incredibly uncomfortable to be at the bowl that long. My second visit, I had three stylists work on my hair: the stylist with whom I was booked and two stylists who washed my hair. Plus, I was at the salon for 2 hours for JUST a root touch up and blow dry. Secondly, I think the stylists could do a bit better at not oversharing about their personal lives. I learned highly personal information within the first 2 minutes of sitting in the chair and it was slightly uncomfortable. read more

I had my nails done here for the first time today and I absolutely loved it! Staff was incredibly nice, and I had a very pleasant experience. The environment is calming and very aesthetically pleasing. They have a very wide range of selections for nail colors and their set up is very clean and friendly. The lady who did my nails is very sociable and I had a very pleasant time talking to her. The only thing I would say was a downfall is that I paid in cash and they did not have any change. This is my first time here and right out the gate my appointment changed three times with two different people (almost like they were trying to take from the other) but I went anyway and although the haircut was nice the color was not at all. I won't go back and pay that kind of money for the poor color. read more
