This place is located near Sleeping Giant Park - which is visible from the course. Beautiful greenery and so on. The game of golf itself is fun and can be challenging. Being able to play with friends/family is wonderful! Golf carts are available to anyone. I met some really nice golfers during my game at SGGC. The employees greet you with a smile and wish you lots of luck during your golf game. Another great thing is like to share - the bathrooms are always kept up with. For the price, this is an incredible deal, as this is a fantastic and challenging golf course. The fairways are well-kept and the roof has several cuts each with varying degrees of difficulty. The amount of good this place and the owner Jodi does here for the local community - especially the…read moredie hard dedicated golf purists and enthusiasts - simply can't be overstated. When all the other driving ranges or clubs in the area are either private or closed or too expensive, this facility is a true local legend! Always open, even in the rain or snow, year round, with heated overhead bays if you need - and real grass practice area, or even dedicated short game options as well, for serious practitioners during the season. None of the fancy clubs in the area can compare despite their pedigrees. Add to that an actually quality restaurant, pickle ball soon for the more recreational experience, and not even to mention the most friendly and supportive team of maintenance and operating personnel including the owner Jodi who is the very model of small business excellence, and no matter your appetite for activity, you can't go wrong here. I rarely leave reviews, or reviews this long, but I could go on for paragraphs about how truly invaluable a hub of passion and performance this place has been for me and innumerable other local very high level (but budgeted) golfers (all of whom, if you happen to be learning or improving, most likely are so friendly or kind that they'll probably give you free lessons while you're practicing if you ask). It's only a matter of time before the first famous PGA or Korn Ferry or just YouTube professional golfers arise from this place, one of the best kept (though maybe not anymore ha) golf secrets of all Central Connecticut, maybe the whole state. I saw some other folks mentioned a few topics to which I noticed the early lights out seem to have been fixed, and now are on motion detectors, so even if you're the only one there, they go on for the section of driving range you're using, and there seem to be totally new balls put into rotation last year - pretty awesome!

I can't believe I'm writing this…read more.. Something big has occurred here within the last four months. Did they change superintendents? Did they start paying the grounds crew a living wage? Did they sprinkle magic fairy dust about the entire property? Whatever happened, what was once the undisputed laughing stock of Connecticut golf is now a genuinely serviceable, pleasantly inexpensive golf experience. Walk the course for $20 after 1PM on a Saturday, or $35 with a cart. Does it get better than that when the golf course you're playing on doesn't make you want to vomit? It's like a different place altogether. The fairways are now covered in actual grass. The greens putt consistently and at a proper speed for amateur golf. The tee boxes are decent, and the sand traps have actual sand in them! Even the two putting greens near the clubhouse are pleasant and well-kept. You may hereby ignore all detailed descriptions from my previous reviews. What are you, and what have you done with Western Hills?

It's not a 5-Star resort golf range but it offers the services you need to work on your drive. They also have a small miniature golf area too. The owner seems very sociable when a conversation was started with him by other pateons. Prices are VERY reasonable and I was able to get some more use out of my clubs before the winter hit. It wasnt very busy when I went after work so I was able to spread out far enough to socially distance. It's easy to get to and it's right off a main road the leads right in/out of Waterbury. If you are looking a quick and low priced place to stop to work on your swing, Prospect Driving Range isn't a bad option. I will definetly be back again when the weather gets warm again.

I used a hodgepodge of my dad's clubs and my uncle's. The TaylorMade driver was straight as an arrow and hit straight and long where I wanted it. The chipping in this thick New England grass (rough) was another story. I think TEE BOXES were in pretty good shape. The CARTS have nice navigations systems. The course is a bit dry for early October so clearly, they did not see enough rain this year. Some fairways were a little chewy/patchy. The GREENS were in very nice shape. I had a better day there excluding that they were as fast as California which I did not anticipate but should have given the drier conditions. This is the best short course in this area and well beyond with some legit challenging holes and a diverse layout with sloping hills. Nothing boring to speak of my friends. The CLUBHOUSE is beautiful, and dad says the food keeps getting better and better.
