Every time I go there someone is always at the counter complaining about their prescription. They are good for texting for prescription pickup, then you get home they texting you that same day for pickup then they be rude on top of that.

It is hit or miss if they will have your prescription filled after CVS sends a text stating your prescription is ready for pick up. I am not talking anything extravagant, it can be vitamin or pain pills. They are often flippant in their responses with little to no regard for the customers medical need. My doctors have had to call multiple times to get my prescription filled. Explanations have ranged from a safe that could not be unlocked for days to trucks not delivering medication for days. Today, i was told the truck did not deliver the medication. There have been several times I have been told my presecription was not ready by staff and the pharmacist intervened, handing them my medication from the lettered bin. I understand different cultures have varying ideas of what decent customer service is however, CVS should train their employees and ensure they meet CVS standards. Previous pharmacists have tried to improve the customer experience, but they soon left. This is a convenient CVS with a drive-thru which probably helps retain disappointed customers. After my prescription is filled, I will find a new location or a new company. I now have a better understanding as to why Amazon and Walmart are successful in this industry. Good luck if you try this location. Be sure to pack plenty of patience and I hope you get your meds on your first visit. Update on 8/10/2025: Received text from CVS to pick up script and gave them a couple of days to actually fill it. Arrived to the drive-thru today, 20 minutes before the pharmacy closed. The gate was pulled down though the lights were on. After several minutes of waiting, a female voice said the drive-thru was closed and that I had to come inside to the pharmacy. I went inside and paid for my prescription. I asked if the syringes were included/in the bag. I was told no. I then showed my prescription to the cashier which reads, "Inject 1 mL into muscle" and asked where the syringes are that I needed for this prescription. The cashier asked a woman in the pharmacy and came back to the cash register and rang up a bag of syringes. I sent pictures to a medical doctor to confirm the syringes were the incorrect type because the bag of syringes was marked for subcutaneous injection of insulin. The doctor was appalled, stating that pharmacy personnel should be able to get the correct syringe and if not, they should have asked the pharmacist. So I will return them to a different CVS pharmacy tomorrow with the hope of getting the correct syringes. Tomorrow will be the 3rd trip to CVS to get what is needed for one prescription. Avoid the pharmacy at 8601 Martin Luther King Jr Hwy, Lanham, MD 20706 at all cost. The concerns go far beyond exceptionally poor customer service. Go to a company or different CVS thay values their customer and has general concern for their health. The personnel at this location are not "customer obsessed" nor are they "committed to help people on their path to better health" as the CVS website suggests.

I had been all over the place to locate an item I use daily. Every single spot I had stopped at was…read moreout of it, or didn't even carry it. I even tried Amazon and had the package stolen twice. Who knew Clearasil was such a hot commodity. I was about to give up and change my skincare routine, until I stopped here. I will say, I have bypassed this location so many times because of how sketchy it looks from outside. I mean, it's a place, that if it were more pedestrian friendly, would give you the notion that it was an easy place to rob or steal from. It is so odd looking, a suburban, mall adjacent CVS with a parking lot lower than the store and you have to take stares or walk halfway down the store to use the ramp. I knew coming here I was probably not going to find the item. And if I did, it was going to be more expensive than competitors since it is technically a pharmacy. One of those two things were true, and my wallet can tell you which one. Yes, finally had the item, but definitely spent almost twice as much for it. Before heading to the register I did a once over to see if there was anything else that I wanted to grab. There was, with my hand full I finally made my way to the front. What a mess this is here. With the combination of customers not knowing what to do, not enough employees in the store working, and those employees that are in the store are way overworked to the point they can't focus on the register because they are putting out customer fires. To say that checking out was a nightmare would be an understatement. With customer's not being able to read signs, people wanting to use cash or get cash back had both the self serve registers messed up. The sole employee trying to be customers cashed out would have to run from his post at the register to the self serve registers to have those customers come to the register to solve their problems. That line went as fast as prolonged street light. Lord, watching the sole employee juggle the chaos was amazing. That man needs a raise, but we know CVS won't do that. I finally got to a self serve register, no help needed because I read the sign first. Rang out and was finally out the door, down the steps, and back in my vehicle.
