My personal "dance team" consists of Kiki, flair personified; Sophia, the "drill instructor", and Denzel, the baddest man on two feet you'd ever meet. I dance bachata, salsa and the hustle with this crew, and am about to add the cha cha. I recently attended and danced at the big Medal Ball at the Surf Club in New Rochelle! Swank. His warm and welcoming personality made us feel more like a part of a family then just a student. Debra King and Aaron Thao run the Hudson Ballet Theatre, which most of the students participate in. Kids also take part in many outside performances such as DanceFest with performing arts educators who have performed at Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, London Olympics. This school actually gives kids great opportunities, not just learn the dance recital routine. Some names to mention: Katie Jo Flanagan and Ashley Flanagan, Katie Eshbach, Eliana Wenick. I have studied and performed with with FRAN for years and she is a true and talented professional with very creative choreography. Mr. Ian and Ms. Sarah might be the sweetest, most caring people we've come across. You can tell they put everything they have into running this business and that each dancer is truly important and cared for. Our girl can be quite nervous and multiple times, the teachers have been able to give her a little extra TLC that gets her to the point of being comfortable enough to give it a try. It takes a special kind of human to keep 20 5-6 year olds entertained and paying attention and everyone here somehow does it with ease! Highly recommend.

I'm now comfortable and making progress in learning the various dances. A few weeks ago I decided to try something different and totally out of my comfort zone. A friendly…read morerecommendation led me to Pole Position Dance Studio located in White Plains, just a few store fronts down from Mario's Pizza on Mamaroneck Avenue. For starters, the booking process was seamless. There were multiple packages to choose from, whether you just want to try out a class or fully commit. I also had no idea that they offered more than just pole! Some of their classes include Street Heels, Metamorphosis (which is a pole-less class; just straight dancing), and a stretch class! For transparency, I've never took a pole class in my life. While nervous going in, you can't help but immediately feel welcome. The owner of the studio, Taylor, was quick to greet me and the front desk girl, Jules, was as kind as could be! I can't even tell you how much fun I had at this class, and I wasn't even any good! Everyone in the class, not just the instructor, was so supportive and I quickly realized that this was more than just a class. It was a community. I loved it so much that the next week I invited one of my besties to join me! It was such a blast and I can't wait to book my next class!!
