After 2 spine surgeries and a long list of other injuries, I began looking into yoga. There are so…read moremany types of yoga and since I am not fluent in Sanskrit, they were all Greek to me. When I met with Susan, I got the feeling that this would be a safe place to try. I started with the beginner's package which I have repeated several times over the past year. I now understand the meaning of "yoga practice". For me, the progress was slow and steady but the results have been amazing. My posture feels 100% better. My back pain is just about gone. Susan is a wonderful teacher! She has a genuine desire to help each of her students. She is part instructor, part coach and if needed, part cheerleader or part drill sergeant. And she hires other instructors with the same approach. The classes are small and even the more advanced students get individual attention to help them improve their practice. Everyone has different challenges and limits but Susan takes a sincere, personal interest in coaching people through them, as do all of the teachers. I highly recommend this place!

I started attending Susan's classes 2x a week a few weeks ago and the pain that sometimes was so debilitating I couldn't walk first thing in the morning is unbelievably almost gone!! The classes are gentle poses using props that create an environment suited to both beginners and the more experienced in yoga. Classes are small and nonjudgmental. You practice at your own level. Yoga poses are combined with guided meditation leaving me feeling renewed and at peace after each session. Compared to what I paid for PT the prices per session are very reasonable. I just can't say enough about Susan and all the instructors here.

DO NOT USE THIS GYM…read more They do not care about its disabled members, such as myself. I cannot walk due to MS. There are two pools there: a shallow pool and a deep pool. The chair lift on the shallow pool has been completely broken for years--ever since I joined back in 2022. Because of staffing issues with lifeguards, the gym had to close one of the pools. Which pool did they choose to shut down? The deep pool--the only one with a working chair lift! When I brought up to MANAGEMENT that closing the only accessible pool left members with mobility disabilities, such as myself, completely stranded, I was rudely told I could just "come back later" or "make an appointment" (both are against ADA regulations: see below). This was back in February. Eventually, they got enough lifeguards and reopened the deep pool... only for the deep pool's chair lift to break down on July 31st. It has been broken ever since. All of my inquiries into fix it have been ignored. Both pool chair lifts at this facility are now completely non-functional. As a result, the aquatic facility is entirely inaccessible to members with mobility disabilities who rely on aquatic therapy and exercise for medically necessary physical care, such as myself. Telling disabled members to "come back later" or "make an appointment" violates 28 C.F.R. § 36.302(f), which states facilities cannot require patrons with disabilities to make reservations to use accessible equipment when other members enjoy spontaneous access during normal hours. Despite months of continuous inquiries, emails, and direct contact with virtually EVERYONE in management, I have been brushed off and ignored. Finally, on August 18th, I was sent a generic "apology" email, and a new chair was ordered. The chair they're finally replacing isn't the one I've been reporting since February. It's the deep pool chair -- the one that broke in July. So the shallow pool chair, the one I've been asking about for seven months, still isn't even on the list. If the original chair was fixed 7 months ago, i could have been swimming this entire time. But instead my health is being affected. This sustained failure violates multiple federal and state accessibility statutes: * Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (42 U.S.C. § 12182): Prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in public accommodations. * 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design (§ 242.2 & § 1009.2): Mandates accessible, operable, fixed pool lifts for independent operation. * 28 C.F.R. § 36.211 (Maintenance of Accessible Features): Obligates facilities to maintain accessible equipment in operable condition, explicitly prohibiting prolonged or indefinite outages. * New York State Human Rights Law (N.Y. Exec. Law § 296(2)(a)): Guarantees equal access to public accommodations without unlawful discrimination. To Management: Do not even bother responding to this review with counterarguments or excuses--you have handled this wrong at every single turn. And do not post a canned, copy-pasted "please reach out to us" PR response. I have already reached out to EVERYONE for months and was completely ignored. The only acceptable response is fixing the lifts.

The "update" for at least 10 days, maybe more, has been that one part is here but waiting for another part. The general locker room reviews are that since Genesis took over (It was known as Saw Mill Club East) the gym has had maintenance issues and the head office in Kansas has rigid ways of doing things and so the local branch of a gym is stuck not being proactive and creative. I know numerous swimmers who are members of this gym only to swim and they just can't get a lap lane reservation when needed, or there's swim team taking the whole pool even on weekdays, there's a lifeguard certification course or a private lesson not entered into the "system" in advance. The lap lane reservation system is online and not online and one cannot make cancellations. In general it is chaotic and primitive by today's standards. In short, I and others who mainly or only swim cannot do our workout, swimming for 3 weeks now and the timeline for the repair is indefinite. The gym did send out a letter online and taped it to the pool entrance asking members to be patient and flexible, but no mention of what is going on with repairs and preventing such a long shutdown again. One suspects the $ bottom line is the primary reason but at a certain point customers do matter. This is a health and fitness business and the service contracted/advertised is not being offered for the customers paying for it and no offers of credits or discounts to compensate for the loss.
