It's been 10 days i am in touch with the corporate guest experience centre, they keep saying someone from this location will reach out and that never happened. Our server seemed incredibly distant; she did not introduce herself, when asking for our drinks she "sprinted" away before we could ask to order (as we were ready since we had been waiting for a while), and when she dropped off the salads, she again, "sprinted" away without asking if we wanted any cheese. When dropping off the food she was very cold, and seemed reluctant to even give us any cheese. After putting cheese on my girlfriend's pasta, she leaves without asking me if I wanted any. She never once came to ask us how we were doing, and never took any plates, empty salad bowls, and never gave us more bread (It was not a busy night) In for the first time in 4 years of eating here, I did not tip. While paying the bill we asked for her name and it starts with a V. Additionally the double bacon carbonara was undercooked and had barely any sauce, but we were unable to inform our server as they never came until we finished eating (She asked if we needed a box but didn't even ask us if we enjoyed the meal). Quite unfortunate since we usually have no issues here and the staff is typically wonderful. Maybe avoid here on Sundays around 6:45-8pm. read more

East side mario is a great cheap dinner option!! I love that most of the meals comes with unlimited refulls of either salad or soup of your choice! Not only do you get to pick salad or soup, but they have so many different types of soup and salad! My go to choice is always the tomato soup!! It is so good! I always make sure to get multiple refills and get my moneys worth 10/10 recommend!!! read more

For 17.99 this calzone is absolutely tiny. Comparatively to other places for that price point I'd expect it to be far far larger. This is honestly a pretty big rip off. There are other restaurants and places offering calzones for cheaper and much larger in size. read more

me and my family friends went here and we had a super genuine kind waitress who was new, I do not know her name nor is it necessary to say it on a review but I think management job at training and empowering and encouraging her because you guys clearly did a bad job at training and I bet you it isn't something new. also the service overall from everyone was unprofessiona. I've gone in sometimes where there was only our table and one other and it took like 15 minutes just to come up to us. East Side Mario's decided to cut its former restaurant into 3 separate restaurants ( Esm, Montana's, & Fionns) by doing so, it appears to have cut it's prior issues as well. Service was quick, food was good, and the waitress was excellent. After a long time away, it appears (hopefully) this esm is back in the restaurant game. read more

im not one to complain or post reviews but one was needed for this location, terrible service. came last week for dinner on a wednesday night and was not busy at all, had to wait 50 mins after our drinks to have our order taken and assuming that the waitress forgot about us. also was not greeted when we came in the doors before we were walked to our booth, felt uncomfortable as one of the workers was staring at me. from observing everything from our booth i'm assuming the guy was the manager? we ended up getting our food and it was honestly really good but comparing it to the other location in ancaster on upper james, it doesn't. this location needs to take some pointers as it might not be a big deal to some but the little things definitely count when my significant other and i just want to have a nice night out. read more

Food was okay, but servers changed halfway through. The place wasn't clean (the floor was messy) and the decor was nailed to the walls. Kinda "meh". Unlimited salad is not unlimited. We were a party of three and the server came over to tell the table that despite having ordered from their value menu, (my friend's) salad wouldn't be treated as such and he wouldn't be given any more than a bowl. (I think they were worried all three of us would eat it? I dunno.) I had a piada with peppers, chicken and pesto, but it was drowned in Caesar dressing and overall very bland. Not impressed! Dirty silverware, dirty plates and of course dirty floors. Since you receive all you can eat bread and salad with a "build your own pasta meal" I came in excited. Unfortunately the salad had obviously been in the fridge for a while and the salad was soggy. The pasta was ok but nothing to write home about. The staff however were friendly and cheerful over all my experience was a disappointment to say the least. read more

This was the worst restaurant we could have chosen for my friend's birthday. None of us had eaten at East Side Mario's before, but we all love Italian food and since it was close by we decided to give it a try. Instead of an enjoyable birthday dinner, we all got food poisoning! We ordered 2 margarita pizzas to share and when they arrived they did not look the best, but we hoped they would taste better. Unfortunately the crust was very crunchy, the sauce was not flavourful, and worst of all the cheese tasted sour which led us to believe it had gone bad. After informing our water that the cheese tasted sour, he told us that he would get his manager to sort things out. She told us that bocconcini cheese is supposed to taste sour, but if we didn't like it she would take it off the bill for us. We had all eaten bocconcini many times before and knew it was not supposed to taste sour! We had stomach pain and problems for the rest of the night and the next morning because of the bad cheese they used. Needless to say, we will not be returning to East Side Mario's again. read more
