The young woman provided excellent service. It was late, so the restaurant was largely empty, hence quiet.. We returned last night and, upon walking in, were taken aback by the noise level. Holy cow. The pizza was again quite good, but the service, not so much, The server was friendly, but missing in action. We literally had to ask for a menu, ask for parmesan, ask for the desert menu, ask for the bill; each time waiting to catch his eye before we could ask. Staffing, unfortunately, is a problem.

Their fettuccine alla bolognese ($26) is a safe choice. The sauce is done properly with plenty of meat (a beef and pork blend) with just enough tomato to tint it red. It clings nicely to the wide noodles that verge on pappardelle territory, though the dish could use a touch more seasoning and a snowfall of Parmesan to really shine. The chitarra alla norcina ($30) starts off strong, with freshly shaved truffle prominently displayed on top. But then the crumbled sausage takes over, its oiliness overpowering the delicate flavors beneath. A pity, because the handmade pasta itself is good - chewy and satisfying. Flavours deepen with the costoletta di manzo ($47), a hunk of braised beef short rib that's both meaty and tender, perched atop a creamy polenta seasoned simply with its braising liquid. It's a true secondi, comforting and rustic, but not quite enough to stand alone without a starter. With barely a vegetable in sight, we added a side of rapini ($12), sautéed with just a whisper of garlic and chili flakes. It was a welcome burst of bitterness amid a sea of richness. For those sensitive to salt, La Bettola di Terroni may be just right - the kitchen leans toward the under-seasoned side. It's not a dealbreaker, and perhaps kinder on the heart, but I did find myself wishing for a saltshaker to perk up a few dishes. When we arrived after work, the room was nearly empty, but by 6 pm it was buzzing with theatregoers heading to a show across the street. Reservations are wise. Service is efficient and knowledgeable, if not exactly warm... think brisk and businesslike rather than chatty and charming.

I like how every sign is in Italian here! Inside it's absolutely gorgeous, putting other cafes nearby lto shame. The colours, the design and some Retro furniture too. Simply magnificent! They serve up the very good Lavazza coffee, which is popular lately and seen around the west end. Friendly service here too. It's fun to sit and watch the cooks in the open kitchen behind the order counter. The other side has floor to ceiling windows looking out over a small courtyard within the condo buildings. There was plenty of cream for those who like to make sure each bite will have some. Unfortunately, the French toast tasted like a bland/unsweetened whipped cream had been added, there was not even a hint of tiramisu/espresso/mocha flavor. I thought about asking for syrup to add flavor, but at this point didn't want to wait and have it get cold, nor did I want to add extra calories for something I wasn't enjoying. I would skip the tiramisu french toast. That said, if I were local, I would give them another chance on a different dish. The servers were attentive and kind and so was the host at their cafe, who was patient and showed me how to get through the cafe to the restaurant, avoiding the rain outside. Lively atmosphere, lots of celebrations, good vibe overall. (And the bar itself is beautiful.)

I ordered a cocktail called "It's Complicated" which was exactly what I was craving. The server recommended their winter special for dinner, which was any pizza or pasta plus dessert for $32. I chose the pasta carbonara and tiramisu for dessert. The pasta was really flavourful, and I loved the egg yolk on top as it added an extra level of richness to the dish. The tiramisu was really light - I wish it had more mascarpone but it was still very good. Service was excellent and I left full and very happy.

When looking at the menu, there was even a disclaimer about the wait time, as they note on the menu that "good food takes time to make". It's understandable that quality food takes time to prepare, but we felt that overall the service was super slow. Taking our order took a while, and evening bringing out bill took an unnecessary 25 minutes after they cleared our plates. The food was also mediocre at best. Everything tasted bland and it could definitely use some more seasoning (or at least salt).

The ambiance was good but they missed the mark with the "romantic" setting if that's what they were going for. The service was a team style service. Our primary server "Chris" I thought was mediocre & just didn't have the charisma that a good server should have in a restaurant like this. We had to ask multiple times for both bread & pepper. The food was very tasty. I started off with the Calamari ($16.00). It was tasty but not overly so. It came accented with a red pepper style dip that didn't match the seafood taste. In my opinion it should have been a seafood sauce or tartar sauce. My main was the "Fettuccine with a Twist" ($32.00). The "twist" was 3x shrimp, chicken & peppers. It was a small portion & the pasta was very al-dente but I liked it like that. The rose sauce that was with the fettuccine was superb. I had the tiramisu ($10.00) for dessert. It was VERY mediocre & and very small portion as well (see pic). All in all this isn't a do-over for me. Too high priced with an auto tip of 20% which is why the service was what it was. Total bill was $200.00.

I had the Quattro Stella, mushrooms, artichoke, prosciutto cotto and olives. My wife, from Rome, went with a white pizza, BORGORICCO. Burrata, zucchini, cherry tomato & mozzarella. It looked amazing, sadly she refused to share but she did rave about it after. Drink wise we kept it simple with a glass of Valpolicella Ripasso and prosecco. For dessert we split a tiramisu. This was more of a sponge cake version, good for what it was. Friendly and knowledgeable service. Prices were fairly standard and acceptable for the quality. Look forward to returning to try some of the other items on their inviting menu. Who am I kidding I'm sure I'll end up having the pizza again, it was that good.

What stood out for us was the delicious gnocchi- it was so chewy and the cream sauce wasn't too heavy. The bolognese was also good. Service was pleasant and the server checked in frequently but I think it could have been warmer. The restaurant feels quite upscale with a dark ambience.
