The ambiance was wonderful, classy, the staff was incredibly warm and friendly, and the cold beer was perfect. And then came the unexpected most amazing rosemary bread, served with olive oil and vinegar--so simple, yet absolutely delicious! Sometimes the unplanned little stops turn into the sweetest memories. I ordered the squid ink pasta as per recommendation of the server. It was way too salty and was not spicy, despite the menu stating it would be spicy. It had a very strong sea salt taste. I tried my friends's branzino and it was really good, and the calamari was crispy. The service was not great. First, there were not enough menus I the table. I did not get a small Plate for the bread. The oil and balsamic vinegar was t coming out of the bottle. Not friendly service and our make server forgets what you asked for. There is no designated parking. You have to try to find street parking, or pay for parking. read more

Owned by a nice Serbian man. He brought out fresh and exquisite focaccia. He had great recommendations for food. We had the arugula salad to start and the calamari both were so fresh and delicious. The calamari came with a nice tangy sauce and the squid itself was nice and tender. Then we had a few pastas. The squid ink with prawn was phenomenal. I had the pappardelle pasta with shrimp and mushroom and a rosé sauce and it was phenomenal. We sat on the patio on a gorgeous day in Oakville, surrounded by beautiful floral decor. read more

We have been to Veracé a number of times never disappointed. It is our favourite restaurant. Food is very good homemade pasta amazing and is always the right texture. Unfortunately my favourite item (pork chop) has been taken off the menu. Service is normally very good last time (Aug 8/26) we got a waiter that seemed he would've rather been someplace else (a little arrogant - not friendly he was there for the tip and made that clear to me). He was ok but not great as we had been accustomed to expect. The patio ( where we normally sit) is without exception the best patio in Oakville if not the entire area. BTW I had the Mushroom Risotto - it was exceptional. read more

The spices on the breading weren't my preference but that doesn't mean it wasn't good. The 'organic' chicken was cooked perfectly and the rest of the food was amazing quality. This is the #1 spot we go for Italian, both for family dinners and to show friends. The ambiance is always so welcoming and feels great to dine in, and the food is fantastic. I always get a classic margarita pizza, but the quality is so good every time! Cavolo salad (baby kale, kalamata, toasted pine nuts, pecorino & black currants) was stunning! My favourite salad of the year!! The pappardelle fungi was spot on - al dente with a good assortment of mushrooms and lightly creamy sauce that was both satisfyingly rich and delicate at the same time. My friend had the tagliatelle con gamberi and literally finished the whole bowl, she said it was fantastic. The service was also excellent - well timed and very friendly. The only detractor was that the inside was really packed. Tables were almost elbow-to-elbow and extremely loud with all the people. But otherwise, the food was amazing and would definitely go back. read more

Dined out on the patio during a summer evening, great ambiance for food and beers. Bolognese Pasta was a massive portion size and good overall. The Calamari was okay, fresh bread was good. Management should be mindful of harassment between employees - if your customers are noticing it, it's not good. read more

Our waitress, took our drink order and then took about 20 mins to acknowledge that we would like to order food, she was busy chatting with a man sitting at the bar. We finally caught her eye to place our order. She went back to chatting with someone at the bar and completely disregarding us. Another sweet man came by with our food and actually acknowledged us and what we were asking for. She eventually... came over after we had been finished eating for about 15-20 mins again asking if we wanted dessert. We weren't sure as everything else took so long. But we decide too. She ended up leaving but we found it rude that she didn't come over and let us know that someone else would be taking over. The man that took over who did the last 10 mins we were there was nice but we still need to flag down for our bill, we gave an incentive to the young gentleman who actually acknowledged us. Doubtful we will be coming back as clearly they have servers that just care about their pay check then their customers. read more

My boyfriend & I came here for an intimate date night. He is Italian & trusts the quality of food EVERYTIME. All the waitstaff were very attentive & quick with service. Ambiance is dim & personal, classic and tasteful feeling. To start we ordered the Carpaccio de manzo, and shared between the Rigatoni alla caprese & Margherita verace. Each dish was done perfectly with no complaints. The Margherita pizza was so light and tasteful. Sharing those two dishes left us with enough to take home & enjoy later. 10/10 experience. read more

It was a lovely summer evening and made lovelier by Verace The patio gave me a sense of privacy without taking away from the ambiance. Also the fact that the patio was not facing Lakeshore was great because our conversation didn't have to compete with the sound of traffic We started with the Calamari and the bruschetta. Both were delicious, but the calamari looked too perfect... maybe my own bias for food that doesn't look too carefully constructed We tried both the risottos. Being a seafood fan I recommend their Risotto Alla Scoglio Finally a shout out to PJ. He was run off his feet managing more tables than he should've been, but never once did we feel his absence when we needed him This location has changed often over the past decade and I hope Verace is here to stay read more

we came for a lunch date after popping by at a spa in oakville. the service was great! we were greeted by a few other waiters in the restaurant and that made me feel welcomed. we were promptly seated at the patio. all the staff were friendly and accommodating. we had the waiter-recommended dishes and the daily special appetizer. everything tasted delicious. the crunch for the app was soft. maybe a tiny bit too salty but it was nice otherwise, along with the sauce. the "spicy" tagliatelle was not spicy at all though. I actually couldn't taste any spice or heat, but the chili oil helped with that lol. my favourite, the spaghetti all' aragosta, was perfect. the white wine garlic sauce? *chefs kiss* was not a big fan of the lobster tail but I think that was just a personal preference. the dishes did take a while to get to us, maybe 15-20 mins or so we waited for the apps/mains. I assume it's because they're all freshly made but something to consider if you're in a rush! we skipped the drinks and dessert because we were super full. the sizes for the entrees are fair, given the pricy tag. one thing I would probably add is during summer months, perhaps place a bee deterrent or two because of how they keep coming on our food and it just interfered with our lunch a little. not a big deal though just room for improvement! read more

I really enjoyed this restaurant and would come back. I'm surprised to see the other reviews! The food is good for its price, but it is a bit more on the *slightly* expensive side. I found the service to be quite nice actually and I came here for lunch both times during a weekend. The pizza was very tasty and so was the crostini mushroom bread appetizer! Those were probably the tastiest things we ordered. The squid ink tagliatelle is so intriguing and a bit on the spicy side actually! I'd recommend this place if you're looking for somewhere nice to grab some lunch. read more

Typically, I check Yelp before anything but, my fiancé booked through 'Open Table' last minute (which had a 4.5 and 150+ reviews.) Shame a disgruntled employee has lowered their rating by so much. I probably wouldn't have been as keen on trying it had I saw their poor rating on Yelp. We were delighted by the attentive servers, bar tender and hostess last night. It was clearly a team dynamic- which I can appreciate having worked in the restaurant industry before. Starter Opted for the octopus & Beef carpaccio (and of course the focaccia bread!.) Mains Their fish special, was YellowFin and it was absolutely divine! The Pasta was my personal fav dish (rose sauce, mushrooms & tiger shrimp) delicious. This is a great spot for groups and people with gluten allergies or intolerances as they have great options. The service is good and Mavis is excellent. They do separate bills for groups which is great. The portions are huge. The alcoholic drinks are a little overpriced, but overall a good experience. read more

Amazing pasta, pizza and desserts that will leave you satisfied but also craving more. All the dishes are inspired by the various beautiful Italian regions, and they don't miss a beat when it comes to marrying quality and tradition. I am definitely going to return to this place, soon! The service was very good, the atmosphere great it is without a doubt the best patio in Oakville, the food and value was excellent. We had a pizza and Risotto. I've been here twice .....the first when Covid regulations allowed 50% occupancy and the second time when they had been lifted. First visit we had the pizzas and they were excellent plus a bottle of wine for the adults. It was an exciting evening as our first time dining out for over a year. Service was both efficient and friendly. On our second and most recent visit the youngsters had the same pizzas and enjoyed them immensely. The adults had pasta dishes and they proved satisfactory. However the price of bottles of wines were now exorbitant so we reluctantly compromised with just two 5oz glasses of wine for $38. We very much like wine with our food but these types of prices mean we won't be back. Loud background music also a bit of a negative. Service attitude was cold and somewhat 'distant' but fairly efficient ....maybe the wine list had changed OUR attitude? Pizzas and Water would be my recommendation and would meet most expectations! read more

We actually as a group decided this was not where we wanted to dine and left. Enjoyed a fabulous meal at a different downtown Oakville establishment.
