Our experience at East Valley Children's Center with Dr. Curran was terrible from start to finish. The office instructed us to arrive 20 minutes early for paperwork, which we did, only to then wait an additional 30 minutes past our original appointment time. The exam rooms were outdated, with decor and unstable chairs that looked like they hadn't been updated since the early 2000s. When Dr. Curran finally entered, he slammed every door, cabinet, and item he touched, creating a very unsettling environment. He began the visit by asking me how I was doing, but immediately cut me off mid-answer to start another question. During the exam, without asking, he suddenly took a Q-tip and fished out the last of my newborn's drying umbilical cord. Since then, my baby's belly button has been bleeding for over a week. He also referred us to a urologist for a circumcision, saying they would call us, but no one ever did. When we followed up, we learned Dr. Curran had told the urologist our baby had a diagnosis we were never informed of, forcing us to schedule a separate diagnostic appointment before even addressing the circumcision. This was extremely concerning, especially because no one in the hospital ever mentioned this "diagnosis," and a second opinion confirmed there was no issue at all. To make matters worse, when we called the office to report the bleeding and ask about the urologist issue, we were told Dr. Curran would call us back. It's been over 5 days and we never received that call. This has been the worst doctor experience I have ever had. I would never recommend Dr. Curran or this office to anyone. read more

We have been seeing Dr.Curran and Dr. Aaron for almost 3 years. I highly recommend both doctors! They are attentive, funny which makes the kids feels comfortable, knowledgeable, and caring! Dr. Aaron even called us on CHRISTMAS DAY to check in on our 2 month old who was sick! This is top notch care and customer service in my opinion! I highly recommend their office!! We saw Dr. Curran on the advice of a friend who is a nurse and brings her own children to this practice. My daughter has several unique health issues and Dr. Curren was knowledgeable about them all--wouldn't have expected this outside a specialists office. I haven't seen this level of competence from a PCP ever. Dr. Curren is also great with kids--in a way that's a bit goofy but totally puts them at ease. It is easy to see why this practice is consistently on the top docs list. read more

I 1st met dr.Aaron when I was 9 months pregnant to see if he was the one I wanted to be my son's pediatrician. And it was the best decision I could of have made . He is the best doctor I could of of asked for . Throughout the 3 years I have been coming here he validates my concerns answers all questions I have and even when I call the office to get some help or advice he is always there to help . My son loves him and so do I. I would recommend him to anyone. read more

I cannot say enough god things about EVCC. I drive from the far east side of Mesa to be seen by Dr. Aaron or Emily. I have never once felt brushed aside, or that my concerns were not addressed. My children love the staff, and have fun at their visits because of the excellent bedside manner displayed by all we interact with. Every room has hand painted murals, the kiddos get a sucker and sticker each time they go, and I have personally been comforted by Dr Aaron and Emily both when I was having a hard time keeping my newborns weight up, or when my 4 year old was being seen repeatedly for a condition that was not clearning up. Going to EVCC is giving your kids the best, we will go here until we age out. read more

Dr Curran is the best pediatrician I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. He so thorough and cares so much. Honestly, I couldn't ask for a better doctor. He comes in smiling and invests in my children in their physical and mental health and provides excellent overall care. My experience has been 10/10 and It will be a tough act to follow if I ever have to find someone else. read more

We love taking our kids to EVCC! Dr Aaron and his staff are great!!! The waiting room is large and simple. No toys to prevent spreading germs, but two TVs play the recent animated movies. Each room is hand painted with a child theme mural; from toy story, curious George, finding Nemo, etc. they use to have a nurse on staff who was a certified lactation specialist , but I think she's left since I've met with her 4-5 years ago, and they were looking for a replacement last I checked. Dr. Aaron is awesome-- the right balance of care, listens to your needs, very in tune with child's symptoms, and straight to the point. read more

Absolutely love Dr Aaron, he is caring and a natural with kids. My daughter loves him. Most MAs are good. Unfortunately, the receptionists are usually really bad, especially over the phone, but I still give the place 5 starts because the doc is totally worth it. read more

Very Disappointed! This place has failed since Dr Marstiller left. I have been going to this facility for 13 years. Never had a problem until recently. I was told today that my child must seen a nurse and NOT a doctor because I had a previous bill go to collections. Mind you the bill was minimal and has been rectified. I was also asked if I still wanted my appointment because of the $30 reinstatement fee. As to imply that I was not capable of making a $30 payment. I am a hard working single mother with benefits from my job. I do not appreciated being talk to as if I am a low class citizen with no benefits. I am beyond offended and after 13 years will NEVER return to this facility. Per the receptionist this was a message directly from the DR. So my money is not worth his time!!! Almost three years later and we still love Dr. Aaron! He is a great doctor and even better at interacting with kids. Whenever he comes in the room, he immediately sits on the floor and strikes up a conversation with them. My kids love him! Also, kind of a specific point: Dr. Aaron circumcised my second son and it was a MUCH better experience than my first son got at a different practice. I was highly impressed with his process, experience (he did his own sons 20+ years ago!), and the outcome. If I have another boy, I won't go anywhere else! read more

My son has a fever. I called to book an appt. and the receptionist said, sure "I can get you in at 9:20 with Dr. Aron". Then I told her my son had not been seen before and she said, oh no then we can't get you seen with a doctor. You can see a nurse Becky. POOR attention to detail and DO NOT take the time to get to know what you are worried about with your child. Dr. Neil Aaron WAS our Pediatrician, and DID NOT take the time to listen to our concerns or what we were worried about with our newborn. I even had to remind him to wash his hand before touching our newborn because he kept coming in from seeing sick kids and not washing his hands before working with my newborn. I WOULD NOT recommend this place nor are we going back. We gave Dr. Neil Aaron a couple of appointments to make sure it just wasn't an off day, but it is how he runs his office. Less than impressed with the low energy, non-customer focused front office staff. Dr. Curran, however, was super helpful when we had an emergency and had to call in late at night because the circumcision that was done by Dr. Aaron did not clot. I realize that is not fully his fault, but Dr. Curran was helpful and kind and listened. Trust is lost sadly with this Pediatrics office. read more

My one year-old son has seen two different peds so far because we choose to attachment parent, and both docs gave us misinformation that as first time parents, we didn't know to question. For instance, supplementing formula while I waited for my milk to come in (my son was well within the normal weight loss two weeks after birth), or allowing our son to "cry it out" when we didn't have issues with him sleeping, other than the fact they he nurses to fall asleep (which the doc had a problem with; I did not). At our first appointment with Dr. Aaron, we told him what we were looking for in our son's physician, and he was supportive, and helped us feel at ease. He even shared that his family coslept also, which was encouraging. I'm so excited to have finally found a doc that gives us all sides, but allows us to make our own decisions without pressure or judgment; true informed consent. I wanted to find a doctor my son (& future kids) can grow up with, and I'm confident I found that with Dr. Aaron at East Valley Children's Group. read more

This office is outstanding. Extremely knowledgeable docs, fantastic with kids, same day appointments when your kid is unexpectedly sick, and most importantly, this practice truly seems to care. There's heart in this practice. I feel respected and cared for, my son is clearly respected and treated with kindness. We have seen Dr Curran and Dr Aaron and loved them both. This practice doesn't take our new insurance but we still come here. It's worth it. read more

I rarely ever write reviews, but East Valley Children's Center is fantastic and it is my hope that any new parent looking for a pediatrician can use this review. We primarily see Dr. Aaron but we have on occasion seen Dr. Curran and both are amazing physicians. We used to be with a large medical group in California that was a huge pain. It is a night and day difference coming to EVCC. The staff is always helpful, nurses are very friendly, and the physicians are great. Most importantly, they can and sometimes do make an effort to get you seen on an emergency basis when needed. After hours either Dr. Aaron or Dr. Curran is on call, and they actually call you back in a timely manner and walk you through whatever your concerns are. My youngest has been sick more than I can count this past year (almost once a month) and I am so thankful to have found this practice. Thank you Dr. Aaron and the team! read more

All of my kids go to this office, the staff and physicians are great! It's obvious the doctors love kids and enjoy what they do. I love the interaction they have with my children both Dr. Curran and Dr. Aaron are amazing! They spend enough time with the patients and make sure you don't have any other questions before you leave. The wait time to be seen is real decent I've never had to wait any longer than a half hour in the room for the doctor to come in and getting out of there on time is great as well it's just a plus. read more

I'm not sure how this place could get negative reviews. We have a son and a daughter that are patients of Dr.Aaron. You can tell he has a passion for working with kids! He always answers our questions, makes us feel comfortable and has a wonderful personality. I saw a review on here about him not washing his hands.... he washes his hands in the sink right outside the rooms, before and after dealing with patients. When my daughter had an emergent situation, he was able to get her into the emergency room within 5 minutes, and called everyday while she was in the hospital to check in and see how she was doing. I love that they are available at night, on the weekends and holidays. I like that we have never waited more than 5 minutes to be seen, the office is clean and the office staff is really nice. Seriously blessed to have found this pediatrician for our kids! read more

This is by far the best group of physicians I have found. I wish that they would take adults!! We saw Dr. Leiferman before he left and now see Dr. Marstiller. Dr. Aaron also popped in when we had a strange case to give a second opinion. These doctors are wonderful! They are extremely competent, excellent with children, and you can tell that they care. They are never in a hurry to push you on your way. I've never had a time when they didn't sit down and answer all my questions however small. The staff is VERY friendly and always helpful as well. And, except for a very rare occasion, they are always on time. I am never there more than about 45 minutes total. Usually its less. read more

I have two boys (ages 12 and 14) and we love EVCC. Dr. Aaron and Dr. Curran are outstanding. They always joke with the kids and are upbeat, which is a soothing balm for both sick kids and worried parents. On top of that, they really know their stuff, and don't hesitate to help you in any way possible. The rest of the staff is great too. We appreciate the ease of same-day appointments, and the fact that you rarely spend too long in the waiting room. I can't imagine any other office doing a better job, and I'm so grateful we found them. read more

Dr. Curran is always upbeat and friendly, answers all of our questions and gives tips for anything we may not think of (or know to ask as new parents). He is supportive of new parents and always manages to get a smile out of my daughter, even when she is not feeling her best. I would highly recommend EVCC, each room has a fun theme, clean waiting area, never have to wait long though anyway, they have always gotten us in for same day appointments when needed. read more

My kid was showing a 104 fever on Wednesday. We took him in and they said to follow up Friday. Followed up Friday. Kid still had a fever at 102. They ran a flu test and said they'd get us the results to us Saturday. Saturday came and went with no call. Called again Sunday and waited for a call back. Here's why I'm finding a new pediatrician first thing Monday. The doctor called back and was rude. I said "we were told we'd get a call back." He says "well it's Sunday, the office is closed," pretty rudely. UM I KNOW THAT! YOUR OFFICE TOLD ME YOU WOULD CALL. DONT GIVE ME AN ATTITUDE BECAUSE YOUR OFFICE DIDNT DO WHAT IT SAID IT WOULD." Needlessly to say, my son still has a fever, we still don't have test results, and no one at the office has any idea what I'm talking about apparently. This is the second shitty interaction I've had with this doctor. We decided to give them another chance after the first but this is enough. We should have left as soon as Dr. Marstiller left. read more

I am so glad i switched to this practice nearly 2 years ago. Dr. Aaron is simply the best, most attentive, friendly and accomodating Dr. Our daughter Fiona is blessed to be under his care. All the staff are friendly and we are pleased with the quality of care so far. The office could use a little updating in the waiting area but it is always clean and safe. I only wish they had a lab inside, but not many doctors offices do. read more

Dr. Curran is such an amazing pediatrician. We have taken our son here since he was a newborn and we cannot say enough about the level of care at this practice. Dr. Curran is always so informative, so amazing with our baby and gives us such great information every time we are in there. He helped us get more sleep as soon as our son was a month old and we couldn't thank him enough. Dr. Curran is a phenomenal pediatrician. He's very warm and fun with my babes and he's extremely knowledgeable, intelligent and aware of any medical concerns I've experienced. He is also not super quick to prescribe drugs if they are not necessary but, absolutely does so if they are needed. They always get me in last minute, take emergency after hours calls and are polite on the phone. We love it here and I highly recommend it! read more

I needed a new patient sick appointment for my daughter who had a persistent dry cough and was able to get in here pretty quick. I could not get in with a doctor but instead saw a nurse. The nurse said it was probably allergies and prescribed singulair. She said to take it for one week and if she didn't get better to come back for a possible chest x ray. After a week my daughter didn't get better so I took her back to her old pediatrician. The doctor said she had a sinus infection and prescribed her some antibiotics and nasal spray. The doctor also said to take Zyrtec. After reading online it seems singulair is more for people with asthma or breathing problems which my daughter doesn't have. I was charged $124 for my visit at EVCC. After in network adjustment, I owe $100. At my old pediatricians office, it was $56 cash pay (they don't take my insurance) to see a doctor. I also wasn't too fond of the nurses bedside manner or rather lack of. read more

I agree with Lindsay B. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Dr Curran as always been supportive understanding and helped us so much from nicu stays to er visits. This office and everyone in it has been amazing. Our son is not circumcised and it has never come up except to make sure we do not mess with it, We LOVE the nurse practitioner. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE her. She is always so sweet and always sees us last minute. I could not imagine any other Dr office caring for our son. Every doctor has been amazing and we have seen them all for so many different reasons. They take time to explain the whys and hows and have decent supportive conversations wit me about controversial topics. I will say it again WE LOVE THIS PLACE. This place is always amazing! Believe it or not I am now 22 years old and Dr Aaron was my childhood Dr. He was my Dr from the age of 4 to about 16. He is now my 5 month old sons doctor. And also by brother brings his 2 kids here. He is always just amazing he is very caring and is always right. He has been doing this so long it's is just natural to him. He really does care about his kids. I wouldn't recommend anybody but him but I have also heard dr curran is really good to. Front office staff are very nice to, and the rooms have really awesome and creative paintings with bright colors for the kids! Love this place and you should give it a shot. read more

I am very happy with our experiences with this office. Both of my daughters have been coming here since their newborn visits (over five years now) and we have never had a bad experience. We usually see Dr. Marstiller and sometimes Dr. Aaron or the NP. Our longest wait has been maybe ten minutes and my kids don't mind because there are always fun movies on in the waiting areas. I feel that the providers always take their time with us, the appointment is never rushed, and quality care is provided. Even when I have called and left messages, I received a prompt and thorough response each time. The office staff is always friendly and patient too. We are happy to have found a great pediatric office! read more
