As someone who isn't familiar with grooming blade lengths, I was expecting a little guidance, but instead, I got attitude. When I picked up my dog, he looked fine at first glance, so I paid and even tipped. However, once we got home, I noticed a trail of blood and found a cut on his back foot. It's hard to believe the groomer didn't see this before handing him back to me. Either they ignored it, or they just weren't paying attention--neither of which is acceptable when working with animals. There was another groomer I saw who was more kind/welcoming but overall just not a good first experience and I won't be returning.

First let me say our Doodle is brushed every day and her hair is fluffy and curly which means you cannot just run a brush or comb through it and she was bathed by us just two days ago. Here is the brush that is used everyday by us: https://www.petsmart.com/dog/grooming-supplies/brushes-combs-and-blowdryers/only-natural-pet-pin-bristle-dog-brush-58150.html I'm wrong but the definition of matted hair doesn't mean you are unable to run a comb through it with no resistance like clean and straight human hair. So about 10 minutes after we drop her off we get a call that her legs are matted and the areas behind her legs are also matted so they need to shave her down to of an inch. The grooming had already started on her body so it was my understanding that we had a couple of options: 1) Not groom her legs, 2) take her as she was, 3) let the grooming continue. Hind sight being perfect we should have had them stop immediately when they said she was matted and gone to pick up our dog. We are not pleased with the outcome as can be seen from the attached photos showing grooming completed by another groomer in May of 2025, a picture before she went to Fuzzy Paws, and when she came home from Fuzzy Paws. Our guess is that they don't want to take the time and do the job correctly but rather say the dog is matted shave them and move on to the next paying customer.

I remember early on when I returned for something I forgot and I saw Joyce cuddling with Georgie on his bed, I knew we got a great person. I especially like that Joyce sends a photo each day and a little update! She is very dependable and leaves the house clean and as she found it. Joyce is more introverted by nature which is no concern since it's her care and attention to Georgie that I most value. I highly recommend Joyce. Julie as the owner is great and speedy with communication too! The intake form is super thorough which is good, though since so long, I find it more helpful to leave Joyce my personal notes (which are also pretty long!).

She enjoys Khloe's gentle nature and we like how she cares for her. While I was there, I watched several large breeds being trimmed and was surprised how chill they were. Great training was done with these Dogs. Another came in Heavily matted and looked like another dog by the time we left. The Pet groomers here are friendly, show care for your pets which is why we schedule Marissa faithfully. Best care for your furry kids my Friends-SYOY!

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at the PetSmart on Signal Butte in Mesa…read more I brought my goldendoodle in for grooming, and the groomer told us there was only slight matting behind the ears. Based on that, there was absolutely no reason for my dog to be shaved down this drastically. Not only did they take her extremely short, but they went even shorter than expected without calling to confirm or getting approval--which is completely unacceptable. My mom dropped off the dogs for me, and when I saw the result, I honestly felt horrible. This is not just a "short cut"--it's uneven, way too close to the skin, and not at all what was discussed. If a groomer believes they need to go significantly shorter than planned, the bare minimum is to call the owner and explain the situation before proceeding. I paid $100 for this haircut and feel like my dog was butchered. Grooming requires communication, care, and professionalism, and this experience lacked all three. The wonderful Andrea and Toni at reception are such great ambassadors for 4 Paws: always smiling, helpful, and give the true vibe of a well-run and fun place for the dogs. Their bi-weekly "pawties" are such a great day with food and photos, socializing with other dogs while playing, and coming back home all happy and exhausted :) When I go away for more than a couple days I like to call in and ask how my two are doing, because even knowing they're happy and safe my dog mom heart misses them so much. Andrea and Toni will call me if there's anything not routine, for example Mimzy is a little stress bucket so often won't eat the first day: they will assess, add a bit of wet food and everything is all good. On the rare occasion when one of them (Mim usually but Tuck too) may have a loose stool they will call to make sure it's ok to add the wet food or see if there's other options I use at home. The grooming station is visible from the reception so you can watch how the dogs or cats are well taken care of. They have a good selection of toys for sale, doggie biscuits, and some fun cards for all occasions as you come in. 4 Paws is friendly, very well run by the Andrea and Toni team, and the other staff I don't always see as they're 'behind the scene' but I know they too care and love the four-legged guests The ambiance as you enter is either very quiet or as other pups are being dropped off / picked up their furballs and it's a place where laughter and good vibes are plentiful. Not to mention that they charge extra for everything. Rose, however, has an unbeatable price and it includes teeth brushing, nail grinding/cutting, bathing, and grooming!
