Snooty magazine day! Snooty magazine day!…read more I guess one of the perks of living in Scottsdale is that I get this magazine for free and really, who would pay $4.95 for it?! Self described as "Arizona's luxury magazine for affluent desert living" it features everything you need to make it in Scottsdale. Honestly though, snootiness and kidding aside, it is pretty useful. They always have features on new restaurants and shops in the area, a fashion and style section, and information on events and day trips. The plastic surgery and cosmetic dentistry ads are hilarious and the ads for million dollar homes make me drool.

This is completely unprofessional. t's nearly impossible to listen to programs because of the number of commercials they insist on squeezing into an hour. I had previously written to them to make them aware of the many hours of silence in the early morning hours when shows were scheduled to be broadcast. They never acknowledged the problem which went on for months. There is no customer support line and no way to speak to anyone in person there which is probably another way they can avoid accountability. Tune In is truly a horrible experience.

Sorry, but if you are a newsstand, you shouldn't have 2 day old papers on the shelf. Luckily I noticed the date on the newspaper while we were still sitting at Starbucks. The lady was nice and let me exchange the paper for a new one. My mom said usatoday only comes out with newspapers on the weekdays so that's why it was old but I still think its bad policy to have a paper on the shelf that's that old. 2 days later you are bound to have seen all that news in other papers or on the news.

The deejays, for one thing; they don't scream or shout or try to hype up callers. For some reason beyond my ken, classical radio deejays have such soft, well-modulated voices, they have to be using a different type of microphone. I think they swallow it and it sits in their tonsils faithfully enhancing every murmured syllable and mouth sound. To understand them, you have to crank the volume, and then Beethoven's Fifth starts up with DAAAAAH DAH DAH DAAAAAAAH!!! and blows out your eardrums. So yeah, there are some issues. But consider your favorite movie or game. What would it be without its soundtrack? If you go to YouTube and type in OST (for original soundtrack), you'll see film music, including tracks that are best described as "classical", has a wide following. So, KBAQ. True, like any classical station, they have funding drives when they ask for donations of money and vehicles instead of play music. I can live with that. And in return, they have a great show for those like me who love OSTs: Reel Music, Saturdays at 6 PM. There's even a The Score at Four (p.m.) show, but I can't find it on their website to tell you more about it. They also have listener-chosen favorite songs every year: their Most Wanted list. Pretty cool. You should listen. And what the hey, donate that old car you don't want anymore. Turn it into music!
