I bought a computer from Eastern Computer Service ten years ago and haven't had one problem with it in ten years with the exception of a battery replacement. When I was ordering my computer their staff helped with hardware selection witch made it easy to get what I needed in a computer. I am very sad that I have to write this review, that does NOT.....endorse this company. The "upsides"....they were very personable, warm & eager to provide service upon placing the call. They gave a good overview about what they would do to get my computer working again. Also, they were very near my home which I liked. The "warning signs".....they DID mention about "newer" computers and pricing. HOWEVER, I didn't feel concerned at the time, because I was aware my computer is old and upgrading has definitely been on my mind. After 3 days, I called to see how the process was going, I was told that my computer could NOT be repaired. The parts needed are no longer available. I then started thinking about purchasing one of their computers. "Upon further review".....I did my "own" research to find a young, local, upstart company that was able to "find" the needed parts, come to my home, install them & get my computer up & running for.... "UNDER".... $200.00 dollars. This is the amount I told EASTERN would be ALL....I could afford for the repairs while I save for a newer computer. "Review Summary"......Eastern DID NOT or WOULD NOT, take the time to develop "GOOD" customer service & to find the needed parts: *2 GB PC 3200 RAM *Replace power supply in HP PAVILLION A 475 C 480 watt BTW.....if interested in this company that does great, in home repairs &........will get the reward of the $600-$1000 dollars I WILL BE SPENDING IN THE NEXT 3 MONTHS.......contact me!!!!!! I came to this business because I thought they would be okay and not rip me off but I was very wrong. I paid for my computer to be repaired and was told I would get a free diagnostic, which was a lie. My issue is that I will use the computer and the screen goes blue or just shuts off and doesn't display on the monitors. I am experienced in computers but not sure what to do with this situation or how to fix it. They took my P.C. tower and about two days later I received it back. The cost was around 78$ with tax which was a RIP OFF and they claimed that they only cleaned the dust out of it and reset the bios? I was upset because I know this is an easy/small task. I do not think they did enough to charge as much as they did if I was supposed to get a free diagnostic but accepted it if it was fixed. It turned on and seemed to be okay but after two weeks when I was watching a video it shut off by itself again. A couple days later it happened again two more times till eventually the screen would not turn on again (same problem as before it was said to be repaired). I did not bring it in immediately since I live in PA and it is a little more difficult to drop it off in NJ. I called the PC place and told them they did not fix the problem and I brought it back. When I picked the P.C. up again they told me they will not fix it without charging me more money. Yet they already charged me to fix the problem and made it clear that it has the same problem currently and I was charged for it. I did not want to waste my time driving from a different state and spend extra money but I PAID SEVENTY SOMETHING DOLLARS ALREADY for a repair that was not done properly. Dave also LIED and said that my computer was dead. The computer is only a little more than two years old and ran great other than this issue so I believe it is not "dead". read more

if i could give this place no stars i would..! my husband and i bought a computer from them that was supposed to be clean and problem free that was probably our first mistake, but anyway we bought the computer for $300. i told them i wanted chrome as my server and they download it for us. we took it home and within a week the computer was acting up really slow,freezing, pop ups, turning off and so on. i called them up to tell them what was happening with my computer, they told me to bring it in that they would take care of us because we are relatives of one of their number one customers.(my mother in law isn't happy since its the 3rd time taking her computer back to them) they charged us $75 and held on to the computer for about 3 weeks. when we finally got it back (i called and told them that i needed my computer they told me come pick it up the next day and i refused since they had it for 3 weeks) it was as if i never took it to get repair, the computer was the same and or worse than before. we couldn't use it at all.. we were RIPPED OFF!!! my brother in law ended up cleaning it and doing what we paid them to do... i don't recommend this place at all. they hassle their costumers. they see $$$$ when a person that does not know much about computers comes in their shop.. read more
