My consultation with the dentist was 2 minutes, he talked from behind me, and interrupted me every time I tried to explain my pain. This is the only place my insurance covers and it's horrible. Just the worst. Nothing but problem after problem for my whole family. We floss our fillings out. Temporary crowns fall out and then the "permanent" crowns fall out. We never had dental issues before coming here. My family members are always at the dentist getting their mistakes fixed. The only good staff member is the adorable southern girl who cleans your teeth. I have absolutely no understanding of the five star reviews on here. This is the worst dentist. So depressing that it's the only place I can go to. read more

My son went to this dentist and the dentist had a personality like a shoe lace. He was miserable and hated his job. My family is looking for a good dentist and this is definitely a NO. Then to top it off they send me a bill for the consult and cleaning. so I call my insurance company and they till me that they are in the plan and should not have billed you FOR ANYTHING. I did get it straightened out after a couple of phone calls and then when they told me the account has been adjusted I asked for a bill showing a zero balance and they told me they don't do that and then when I pressed them for it NORA from the Howell office hung up on me. Guys, watch out for this dental place in Howell. My wife went for her yearly exam in July 2019 and after X-Rays and cleaning they scheduled her for follow up for two fillings and on the day of the fillings she was told it's her cleaning day,, when she said this appointment is for filling that was scheduled after her cleaning in July, she was told the girl who made the appointment made a mistake and dentist who does filling is off today and they have to reschedule her for other day at 6:15pm,and when my wife went there on 2nd appointment day at 6:15 pm, they were closed. They don't pickup the phone and their mailbox is always full and you cannot leave the message. This story doesn't end here and she got the bill for not making up on her appointment at 6:15 pm when they were closed. Again they don't pickup the phone and mailbox was full so my wife drove again with that bill and the manager there ( one African American lady ) apologized that they system was hacked but don't worry she will take care of that bill. And today June 15th 2020 year later we again got the bill and same old story they don't pickup the phone and their mailbox is full and can't it take any messages. We drove to their office and that same manager refused to talk to us told us call our office and when we said we did but no response she said leave the message and when confronted that their mailbox doesn't take new message, her reply was keep trying, when I said I will call now please pickup the phone as there are no patients and you are free, she refused. Guys these people are billing their innocent patients for services they don't perform. Stay away from this place if you guys want genuine service. We live in Old Bridge and driving back and forth to discuss fraudulent bill is insane. read more

After her first visit, my wife referred to Eastern Dental of Howell as "fast food dentistry" and I think she nailed it. They are a volume practice (meaning lower costs, higher turnover of clients) and just want to get you in and out as quickly as possible. There is no attention to detail, no accountability when they make mistakes and very little concern for client satisfaction. They are so bad that I decided to pay an extra $600 for my premium dental plan instead of the DMO. Here's a list of the problems I had in 2016: On 3 separate occasions I showed up for an appointment and they told me they didn't have me on the calendar. I showed them my appointment card (which is computer printed & not handwritten) and each time they shrugged and said they couldn't see me. The 3rd time I asked what they were going to do to compensate me for 3 wasted vacation days and they told me nothing and if I was unhappy I could find another dentist. The week after I had gotten a check-up & cleaning I was scheduled to get a filling replaced. I showed up and they had me scheduled for another check-up & cleaning and not a filling. They tried to deny me service but since I was in the chair they pretty much had to see me. The dentist rushed through the filling and it felt like my tooth was the shape of a mushroom afterwards. I had to get a crown and asked for a quote for a gold crown. They gave me a number and I paid that amount. When I showed up to get it put in they told me I still owed them $150+ since I only paid for a basic crown. They refused to put in the crown until I paid the balance in full, which was not in my planned budget that week. When I eventually got the crown put in, the dentist checked the fit and I informed her it was a little too high. She adjusted and I told her it was still too high. She adjusted it again and then cemented it in without checking the fit, which was still too high. I am hoping my new dentist can fix it somehow. My advice to you is to run far and run fast from Eastern dental of Howell. read more

I have had an abscess since the summer. Tried calling to get an appointment several times with no call back. Finally in September I got an appointment. Doc looked in my mouth and said I have no clue what that is. Gave me antibiotics and sent me home. 3 weeks later abcess returned. Again calling leaving messages no return call. I call the dispute line and get an appointment the next morning. The doc tells me the tooth has to come out. I make an appointment for two weeks out. Go to my appointment and doc says did they give you antibiotics last time you were here? I reply no. He says big mistake. He cannot extract the tooth due to infection. Asks me if I am allergic to anything ... I tell him penicillin. Get to pharmacy and pharmacist catches thst he prescribed me penicillin. This was noon. I finally got an antiobiotic at 6 pm after several phone calls from myself and the pharmacy. Thank you CVS for saving my life!!!! NEVER AGAIN WILL I STEP FOOT INTO AN EASTERN DENTAL!!!!! So, I recently had work done here for the first time. Unfortunately, I "needed" a tooth pulled, so they said. The only reason I went here and not my dentist was because I was in the middle of a new job and they offer smile club care if you do not have insurance. They ended up extracting a molar that was infected but cleared up on antibiotics. They surgeon who removed the tooth barely said one word to me and was extremely rough with the Novocain injections. When I said I was not really numb in the correct area of the tooth, he pulled it anyway and I have never experienced pain like that. The only thing that was numb was my ear and side of my scalp. After he pulled the tooth, I was given a piece of paper and 4 small pieces of gauze and rushed me out. Over a week later, I cannot fully open my mouth without being in pain from where he stuck the needle roughly and I have had several novocain shots before and have never felt this. Also, at the reception desk, the office manager and the girl at the desk were very unprofessional and arguing with each other over silly office business. I will never go back here nor will I recommend them to anyone I know. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. This place is a complete joke. I wish someone would have saved me the hassle and warned me about this place. They are always short staffed, no one answers the phone, no one returns phone calls, no one seems to care about anything over there. They've canceled my daughters appointments TWICE already. The second time they called me 15 mins before her appointment because they're computers were down. I get things happen but you don't call someone so last minute like that when they're system was down all day. I was already on my way to their office when they called me. They have no consideration and awful customer service. It's common courtesy to give notice before you cancel someone's appointment for the 2nd time. When you cancel an appointment anywhere last minute they charge you! My husband had an emergency...The girl on the phone says "sorry I can't help you out computers are down." I said "again?" It's extremely infuriating because they have no regard for anything over there. Time to find a new dentist. Save yourself the time and aggravation do not come here!!! read more

I have never been to a dental practice that was so hard to make a damn appointment. First off I wanted a cleaning. It took me months to get on the correct roster and another couple months to get in. I went in got X-rays, the assistant cleaned my teeth and the doctor did not even look inside my mouth or see if the job was done right. It doesn't stop there, I wanted to make a 6 month follow up while checking out.. They told me I had to make it in 3 months. So I walked in about 4 months later and the lady was out to lunch to schedule an appointment so I ended up calling and leaving a message. I never got a call back.. A couple days later I called up again for a 6 month cleaning and she told me I have to call after the first of the year. I don't understand why it's so difficult to make a damn appointment at their office. It's so inconvenient. Needless to say, I will be looking for a new dentist!! read more

The office staff is unbelievably rude. I got a root canal done and it's taken me over a YEAR to get the whole process done. Every time I finish one step in the process they schedule an appt. to finish the rest of the procedure but the next appt. is always 2-3 months away. I had to cancel the last appt. because I was sick, and they scheduled me again in 5 months! When I asked if there was anything sooner, they said "it's not our fault you cancelled your appt."Once this procedure is done, I will NEVER come back here, and I warn you to stay far far away. read more

After experiencing tooth pain, Dr Rodriguez casually wiped my teeth with his finger and told me I had TMJ and he couldn't do anything for me, that I needed to see a Periodonist. Still in pain, I went to another dentist for a second opinion and I had a huge crack and needed a cap! You can imagine how livid I was. I called to complain and they assured me that I would not receive a bill and then a week later I get a bill for a limited oral evaluation! You couldn't pay me to go back to this office. read more

I acquired an EXTREMELY painful infection from this office like I'd never experienced in my life. I look at it as a small dose of what Hell might feel like. Anyway, this scary infection required emergency medical treatment which I was forced to receive elsewhere after this office didn't want to be bothered. The doctors and assistants are friendly for the most part, except for that one female doctor who didn't care about my infection (never saw her again thank goodness) and except for that one black woman who unfortunately always sits up front.
