It took 6 months to get an appointment for my son who is having TMJ and wisdom teeth problems. Less than 1 week to his appointment they called to reschedule his appointment for another 4 months. I honestly really like Eastern Dental. They have treated me very well, and have done a fantastic job on my teeth/mouth thus far. They always take great care of my son as well. Yes, prices do vary and a few things might be pricy, but this is your mouth we are talking about. If you want to want to go cheap and mess up your mouth then go somewhere else to regret it in the end. But if you are looking for quality, come to Eastern Dental! Pros: I find the staff to be very professional and friendly. Everyone has their up and down days - I get it, but for the most part they have not been rude only helpful. Their facility is very clean which I love and I never have to wait for a long period of time to be seen. They are very quick which makes my life easier because I am always on the go, and have a lot to do. I love the fact that they text/email/call me when I have an appointment because it is a great reminder. Cons: The reason why I did not give them 5 stars was for their parking lot. The only con is that parking is very scarce and tight which is not good because if I am on time for an appointment but am searching for parking and am late because of it, that is not fair. I believe it would be beneficial for them to expand/update/modernize their parking lot. It would not only help their business but also give customers a piece of mind that they do not have to worry if parking will be available. read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR PRECIOUS VALUABLE TIME! They definitely secretly overpay you and then when you see the invoice there is a credit on your account. They took the remaining balance that should have gone back to my card, since it was an overpayment. It doesn't matter the amount, they will literally steal your money in what they know they can get away with. They should be ashamed of themselves. They give every excuse in the book. I have tried countless of times to get the money back with no resolution. They will ignore you on purpose. "Superb" career in crappy customer service. If I could I would give this place no stars. They are horrible. I would never recommend this dental office to anyone, not even my worst enemy. The wait to see the dentist or the hygienist is absurd. I brought my kids in for a 6 pm appointment and they weren't seen until 7:30. In addition, the dentist told me my son didn't have any cavities and everything looked good. After 3 days my son was complaining of tooth pain. He had formed an abscess on his gums from an infection. I wanted to write a review because of all the bad ones that are out there. I have had to change dentists due to change of employment and Eastern Dental is my only choice. So far, I had a cleaning that was very good a few weeks ago and today I called because one of my teeth chipped and they took me right away for an assessment. Because the chip wasn't bad, they were able to fit me in and I had my tooth fixed right away and I was out of there all within an hour. Is this as personal of an office as my old dentist, no - lots of employees and definitely they work to get you in and out quickly, but all in all, I have been happy with my experience. If anything changes, I'll update my review. Both my husband and daughter will be going for cleanings by the end of the month. As far as friendly staff, the receptionists were very nice and the staff in the back, in particular, Samantha (super friendly and welcoming), Dr. Bronner who assessed my tooth initially and then the two who did the work, Denise and Dr. Fruchtman were all very professional. read more

How can a Dental office this size, not have time set aside for true emergency appointments? Brick office does not! As a longtime patient( 10+ years) I had my first dental emergency today. I called first thing in the morning, explained my problem as I was in the middle of dental work from their office and my temp cap fell off leaving my tooth exposed and quite sensitive. I was not able to even swallow water! I was informed that I was lucky to be squeezed in for later in the afternoon. No compassion from the staff. I will never come here again or recommend this place to anyone . They are so unprofessional and inconvenient. They had me wait an entire month for a tooth extraction appointment, while in excruciating pain the entire time and all they could proscribe to me was ibuprofen. Then I was called for confirmation on a Friday for my Monday appointment. Monday morning I was called to be told my appointment had been canceled and I needed to reschedule my appointment for another week!! When I called to ask why I was being made to wait longer knowin the immense pain I'm in and have been in , the secretary on the phone gave me a nasty attitude. Another person got on the phone and I explained my frustration of how this cancellation of my appointment LAST MINUTE is a huge inconvenience because not only did I have to take a day off from work but I'm also in a lot pain as I said before . Dr Hernandez is awesome. She is very nice, patient, professional, attentive and caring. She has taken care of my 8 year old son and I on a few occasions. She is always already in the room when the assistant brings us back, and greets you with a warm smile. Unfortunately there is no negative star button, that's the only reason why I have one star. I have been there a few times and I can't pinpoint which one was the worst. I saw a different dentist every time and even had to had a tooth re fixed, because of the horrible job done in the first place. I also witnessed a dentist sleeping in his car in the parking lot... very professional! Needless to say I will never go back and let them practice with my teeth, after all I only have 32. So disappointed, I took a day off from work for an emergency appointment because my tooth and filling cracked and broke off. It took 3 days for me to get this emergency appointment. I finally got in and they took xrays and said to come back to have the filling and tooth repaired. They couldn't give me an appointment for 3 months later to repair my cracked tooth and filling! No empathy and could care less for their patients from the time I called for an emergency visit to the dentist up until I tried to schedule a return visit it was a horrible experience! It was my first time here, not my usual dentist but my insurance company scheduled me here. I arrived 15 minutes early because I knew I needed to fill out paper work. I waited 40 minutes after my appt time for my first X-ray. It was another 20 minutes until I got back into a chair and then after over an hour and a half total I left because they couldn't do anything that day. (Granted, the only silver lining is that the hygienist and the dentist that were in my room were actually happy and kind). A gentleman that arrived the same time as me with the same appt time ended up leaving before I even got into a chair. One person in the waiting area also had an appt at the same time as myself and asked why the wait was so long but wasn't given a clear answer. I ended up looking up their reviews to see if this long of a wait was usual or not just to find horror stories. After reading what was shared, I don't even want them to touch me now! In addition to that, when I first arrived the lady working the front desk said nothing to me, didn't greet me or even look at me. Once I got back to the smaller waiting area I observed the employees' interactions with each other and none of it was good. It was either rude/hostile or disorganized. I am reaching out to my insurance company and hoping I never have to go back! Not sure why an X-ray had to take over an hour and a half of my day. read more

Don't waste your time setting an appointment with them. I set an appointment a month in advanced. Then, they asked a copy from Aetna insurance that they are the primary dentist. No copy from Aetna means no appointment. After asking Aetna insurance to fax them the requested copies twice, they lost those copies. I wasted my time and I was asked to call the insurance again. Because they lost the copies, they want me to correct their mistakes by calling the insurance again. I cancelled the appointment and never looked back. Amy, who she said is the manager, is completely incompetent. The staff is completely unprofessional and rude making faces while I was trying to voice out my concern. Stay away! read more

We have been treated by many doctors and dealt with many employees in this office over the years; some good experiences and some bad. The most recent selection of Dr. Steven Slomovitz as Director of Dentistry and his selection of his care team including Dr. Iavarone, Dr. Lambert and their respective assistants and hygienists, along with the front office staff, has enhanced the level of professionalism and patient care so desperately needed in the Vineland office since Dr. Bundee's departure in 2009. Your license should be ripped from you! Heartless, cold, down right nasty human being! It is difficult to get in as you have to set up an appt far ahead of time, at least for the oral surgeon (I think they are only there on thursdays) and make sure all insurance paperwork is taken care of before going to the appt. They are all very friendly. And, actually if it wasn't for Melinda, I do not think I would have gone back. They are down-to-earth people too, dealing with a ton of diverse people. As the others on here have stated, if there were a negative star for this place they would get it! We have been going there for years and have never really "liked" going there but it's only once every 6 months and only for routine cleanings and x rays. Luckily our family didn't have major tooth issues.. My husband is a corrections officer for the state of NJ. Once during a regular exam the dentist Ann Jeffers stood there pointing her finger in my face telling me "it's about time you state workers had to pay for your benefits".. This same dentist is consistently RUDE!! I always thought it was just toward us due to my husbands occupation.. Well.. Recently I witnessed this same dentist speaking so rudely to another pt I was appalled!! I could not believe the way this woman was speaking to this man and his wife (who may I add was in a wheelchair and barely could move or speak)! The husband only said the reason they were late getting there was because their appts had been rescheduled a few times. That's when she started flying off the handle at them, the tone in which she used along with the words she was using was so unprofessional!! I work for an eye doctor and couldn't imagine him or any of our staff speaking to one of our pts like that! I even said to the hygienist (hopefully loud enough for the dentist to hear it) my boss would NEVER speak to a pt of ours like that!! Nor would he put up with an employee speaking to someone like that either! The hygienist just looked at me with an I'm sorry kind of look and shrugged.. I can only imagine how this woman speaks to the employees there.. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy!! To top this off the same dentist told me I had two cavities!! While my first couple of visits were alright, things quickly began to go down hill. First, the appointment scheduling was insane! I had mostly fillings and routine dental care that I needed to do to keep doing my fillings. I had to wait up to four months at a time for each visit(orthodontist was also only open one day out of the entire week); including rescheduling. I started going there in the summer of '14 and didn't finish my eight fillings till '16! Unless you are in a real emergency, you won't get inside any time soon. The staff were okay at the start. Making a phone call appointment was terrible; it's like the person only searches for key words in my voice, instead of listening to my entire speech, and was in a rush to get off the phone as quick as possible and give me appointments I don't want when I'm asking a specific question. Then there was the dentist that I was working with. My first one was alright. But, suddenly something happened and she was not working there anymore. My second and now regular dentist was not good at all when I got my back teeth filled. It felt like she wasn't doing something right and I had so much silver I had to spit out after. There was one experience that make me dread going there ever, again with this dentist. It was a filling for my back teeth on the bottom. For some reason, they had two patients at the same time including me for the same person in the morning. I was first and the other person was there for something simple. So, I had the numbing injection out into my gums. I started physically shaking and had no clue what was happening to me( I have panic attacks with invisible shaking. But, this was not a panic attack.) The feeling made me accidentally knock the drill out of my dentists hand and I was scolded for it even when I had no control over my actions at that point; When I complained that I was shaking and the feeling wouldn't stop, they looked at me like complete idiots! Instead of doing something about it, they left me for the other patient until I "calmed down!" I would of called 911 if I had the choice. Anyway, I had to wait with a nurse(who was sweet) till they finished working on the other person. By then the effects were wearing off and they finished my fillings. I later searched up that the shaking I felt was when the numbing shot was injected into a part of the gum that it shouldn't be at. My dentist didn't know that! That took the cake. I hated how unprofessional these people were in emergency situations. The only reason I have to go there was because I still live with my fathers work insurance for financial reasons, and this was the only place that would accept his insurance. If you need to go somewhere for dental work and have a choice, go somewhere else! read more

I went to this facility for a year. I hated everything about this place. The head dentist is so mean and judgmental, she made me want to stay home rather than get my teeth fixed. I had quite a few cavities, and she didn't believe me when I told her that I genuinely take care of my teeth and that it could be genetics. She didn't want to hear it, she just scolded me every time I went. I have very bad anxiety as it is already and she made me hate dentists. Until now...I go to dental care of Vineland on Lincoln avenue and everyone in there is so nice. The dentist I have now counted the number of cavities I have and the number didn't even come close to the number that Eastern Dental told me I had. I think I have about 8 or 9 and Eastern told me I had about 14. Also while I was there yesterday, my dentist told me a few of my fillings were poorly done and contoured wrong. Needless to say, I will never go back to Eastern Dental. read more

I am a very anxious and nervous person when it comes to dentists and anything to do with my teeth. I have had some bad past experiences. I recently started coming to Eastern Dental of Vineland knowing that I have a lot of work that needs to be done. I was told that I needed 4 extractions to be done together. Dr Stewart made my visit very relaxing. The worst thing to me is the needles they give to numb you, but Dr Stewart did this to where I hardly felt him giving me the needle. Also when he did my extractions I felt nothing and was very pleased at the way he did it. I would highly recommend this Dr for anyone who has fears with the dentist. He takes the time to sit down and explain things to you and does not make you feel rushed. I am very happy with my choice with Eastern Dental of Vineland and also with the courteous and friendly staff!!!!! read more

i started going to eastern dental from a recommendation from a family friend who only had great things to say but after a few visits, i won't be returning. dentists here are extremely rude and impatient. i've had two separate visits where a male dentist couldn't get my mouth numb and got annoyed at me for it. after trying three or four needles he told me he couldn't do it and i'd have to book an appointment with someone else and walked out of the room, wasting my entire appointment. i'm only giving them two stars because the staff at the front counter are incredibly nice -- i had someone go out of their way to make multiple phone calls to my insurance and book appointments at a new maxillofacial center for my wisdom teeth removal that eastern dental originally made an appointment to pull awake with just novacaine. if you any have other options under your insurance, go with them instead of this place. don't let the few positive reviews they have influence your decision like i did. read more

I never had issues with my teeth. First problem, they tell me I have 6 cavities but can't fill the first for 7 months. My fault there, should have been a sign. So 3 1/2 months later I get 2 cavities filled. My nightmare began there. Since then I had to have one cavity filled 3 times because of extreme pain and they didn't do it right. Had to have a root canal, but had issues through the temp crown. Permanent crown I hope is healing finally. However, they messed up 2 other teeth that were healthy because they said my bite was off on the one side and filed down the teeth. Had off and on pain since. I have to wait for a new dentist next month. Hoping they can fix my problem. DO NOT GO TO THEM! Only positive thing I can say is there are very polite and nice people. Other than that they have no idea what they are doing. Oh yeah, got a second opinion, they said I had no cavities! read more

I always keep up with my 6 mos. cleaning and checkups, so I was shocked when I was told by Dr. Ann Jeffers that I had 9 cavities! I went to my regular checkup, had xrays, a cleaning, and fluoride, an was told I had no cavities based on the xray. 6 mos. later, I came back and had a cleaning and fluoride, once again being told I had no cavities. 6 mos. later I came in for routine checkup and was told I had 9 cavities! I told Dr. Jeffers that I did not understand how I all of a sudden went from 0 to 9 cavities in 6 months. She said I had really deep grooves in my molars, but I still did not understand especially when I was getting the fluoride treatments. Also, when she said I had the cavities, she looked referenced an old xray which she previously told me I didn't have cavities from that xray and she just eyeballed it! I made an appointment to start the process of having my so called cavities filled. The day of the appointment, I called the receptionist and said that I was nervous because I felt that something was not right about how Dr. Jeffers determined that I have all these cavities all of a sudden, and I wanted to cancel. She put me on old and came back and told me that Dr. Jeffers said she determined I had cavities from my xray. That was a boldfaced lie because clearly Dr. Jeffers eye balled it, and looked at an old xray which previously showed I had no cavities???? Something is not right with that doctor, I don't know if she was trying to get over or not, but I do not trust her. read more

I have been going here for years because it is the only place my insurance covers. I was told I had over 13 things I needed done in my mouth ! Totaling over $8,000 !! Before this never a cavity ??? Got a second opinion (which I had to pay cash for) and only1/3 of it was true and mostly cosmetic !!! I have extreme pain nut have to wait weeks for an apt but if I need something expensive I can be seen ASAP. The work they have done that has fallen out they do not stand behind and twice the doctors have decided while oin my mouth that they should change my simple cavity filing to the need for a root canal or extraction. I WOULD LIKE TO AT LEAST TRY THE EASIEST AND CHEAPEST ONE FIRST IF IT DOES WORK THEN ASK ME FOR HUNDREDS OF MORE DOLLARS !!!! They had good guy with decency who look at my scheduled root canal at $800, said this can be a simple cavity fill... filled it and then checked the others and filled the other cavities at the same time instead of needed ROOT CANALS !!!
