    Full nails

Today, June 27th, 2026, I called over the phone and asked how much a medium length, GelX manicure with a French tip would be and they told me $90, so I made an appointment. When I get into the salon, I told them I was the one who called about the medium length, GelX French manicure and they had me sit down. Maika began my appointment and it started off fine. She then brings out the box of the plastic nails in the medium length to glue onto my nails which was what I asked for. Then we get to the part when I choose the shade of pink for my nails. I told her I wanted a pink as close to the color of my natural nails as possible. She brings over one and it is WAY too light, it was almost white. I then asked if I could have a warmer and darker pink to match my natural nails and she returned with a pink that's barely darker than the other one. I assumed this was the only one they had so I let her continue the service. She then receives a phone call and started to talk on the phone with an AirPod in. After she finished curing the pink portion, she starts to draw the white line for the French. She asks me if I wanted it thick or thin and I said in the middle. Maika then draws an extremely thin line on my nails, so I ask if she can draw it thicker, she then wipes it off and draws a second thin line. She asks me what I think and then loudly says "thicker right?!" I was caught off guard with her loud question so I ask if I can show her a photo of the thickness I want. I show her a picture and she finally draws it thicker. After everything is cured and I go to the front to pay, they tell me it's going to be $105. I told them I called over the phone and asked what the price would be and they said $90. Maika then has another lady come to the front. The other lady tells me the price is higher because I got the long length. I tell her that Maika used the box of nails labeled medium length. The other lady then tells me that my nails are long not medium. So I ask her why they used the medium length box. She then lowers the price to $95 which is still more than I was expecting to pay. The lighting was really poor in the salon and when I get outside, I notice that one of my nails is smudged. I will not be going back to this salon and I hope they will contact me to make this right.

I would not recommend. Immediately when I sat down I was not relaxed and felt uncomfortable there. I had barely started looking at the nail colors when my nail technician started pressuring me to start my pedicure. The whole service was rushed and sloppy. I brought my sister with me for her birthday and it appeared that our nail technicians were in some race to make sure we finished at the same time. I noticed that they skipped certain steps and generally did the mani pedi very carelessly. The pedicure was subpar at best and after we got home, my sister's pedicure had already chipped. Additionally, the manager was very rude and aggressive. My sister tried to make an adjustment to her manicure and the manager (plus other staff) yelled at her to the point of her crying. At that point we just wanted the whole experience to be over so that we could get out of there. Truly the worst nail experience I've ever had.

I had a pedicure a few months ago which was great but the gel manicure today was very disappointing. To start, the nail tech just started filing she didn't ask what shape I wanted and took way too much off my nails. This place definitely thins out their polishes (I guess to make the bottle last longer?) because I tried 3 different dark purples that were all nearly translucent when applied to my nail. After finally finding a bottle that had some pigment, the nail tech flooded my cuticles and didn't apply the polish evenly. Now my nails have weird lumps on the sides which I didn't notice until I got home. A gel mani is $40 which is inexpensive for a gel mani, but I wouldn't come back here again.

I had my nails done here over a week and a half ago after I broke two nails picking up my luggage. Since then I've been on 4 different flights to 3 different cities, and yesterday I did an entire Habitat for Humanity build. The only damage I sustained was from the insulation glue for the windows, and even then the integrity of the nails have still held. I'm amazed, frankly, but Ms. Tina means business.

I called eastern market nails for last minute appointment. Even though I didn't have enough time to get a pedicure and a manicure, they accommodated me by doing both at once!! Great customer service!! I will be honest - whole the pedicure was lovely, the manicure did not look great. I picked a more translucent polish and the end result was uneven and blotchy. There wasn't time to re-do it, but I went back the next day and Vy was (again!) extremely accommodating. She took off the polish and re-did my manicure free of charge (I picked a different color which also helped.) Eastern Market Nails was so accommodating and willing to get it right - which I think is all you can ask for in a business! Plus love the chill waterfall in there. Will be going back.

I went in for a basic mani & French pedi. Now for those that get French - we know it's a specialized service (meaning they upcharge for it). A specialized service needs a specialist. While the nail tech was polite and tried her best, you could tell that wasn't her speciality and with the language barrier it was hard communicating exactly what was needed. Plus I think techs today put more effort into those that get gel/acrylic etc over basic/natural which is disappointing. She asked me if I wanted my toes cut down (I said yes) but she ended up filing them so they were still long. The towels are pretty dingy and they dry your feet with the same towel they work on, cuticle clean up was great but the leg massage was way too much pressure. I asked for bubble bath nail color but they gave me a purple equivalent & I had to ask for a 2nd coat. The white lines aren't crispy, & while I appreciate her trying to emulate the look I had when I came in, I think it would've been better if she just did her own thing. The manicure was standard, she skipped a few nails and had to go back. I asked for square square all around (hands & feet) but ended up with round square. Again, she was sweet & polite but for $78 - it wasn't worth the experience, especially not the French because my toe nails are still long so you can barely see the white tips and the color gives more of a purple than pink

Meticulous, precise, clean, patient, hospitable. I have absolutely zero complaints about this place. I wanted gel x, a cat eye look and my nails were done beautifully. While my nail tech was doing my nails, I decided I wanted them a little shorter and was met with no resistance. She happily obliged to any and all request regarding my nails. She took her time, made sure I liked the design of the first nail before continuing on to complete the rest of my nails. It was the most enjoyable experience I've had at a nail salon in a long time. I'm sold and I will be returning.

Julie did my acrylic fill with gel polish and added a simple, cute flower design just in time for my birthday. She did a phenomenal job! I've been consistently getting my nails done for about 3 years, and she was one of my favorite techs. She gave me great ideas and was so patient with me, which really helped because I could not decide on a color! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I scheduled an appointment for 5:00 PM but wasn't seen until around 5:20 PM since they were running behind. They only have a certain number of nail techs who do acrylics, which I completely understand. I just wanted to mention it in case you're in a time crunch and are scheduling a specific service--it's possible your appointment could get pushed back. That said, I personally didn't mind waiting, and I'm really happy with how my nails turned out!

The color selection is poor, and the swatches rarely match the color that actually ends up on your nails. Every time I've gone, I've been unhappy with the shape or quality of my manicure. My nails frequently chip or break much sooner than they should (days after getting them done), but given the location I justified the shortcomings. Today, I made an appointment with a specific technician, only to be told (15 minutes after I arrived) that they had been overbooked. My options were to wait an hour or see someone else whenever they had time because they had accepted too many appointments. Poor quality, poor organization, and consistently disappointing results. I gave this place far more chances than it deserved, I would not recommend this salon.

However, they didn't have times available, so I opted to go to the Navy Yard instead. Both locations are clean and relaxing. I also like their no-phone policy. The Navy Yard experience, however, was average. I requested their standard manicure and the luxe pedicure. Two technicians worked on me at the same time and finished at the same time - within the hour, which was great. (One minor issue- they don't roll to your other side, so you're forced to bend your arm uncomfortably toward them, which kills the experience a little.) This was my first time getting the luxe pedicure, and while they used an extra jelly moisturizer for five minutes and a quick scrub, it felt similar to the main lane (what they call their standard mani). So I probably won't opt for that again. The massage was the same length as given at the MVT location. One of the techs noted the color was sheer, and I asked for an additional layer, which they've done no problem at MVT. But she was firm that she was only doing two. Ok friend, then why ask me if I want it sheer? The layers applied were laughably thin. I get that's necessary for a good mani/pedi, but the first application barely had any polish applied. And the mani was even thinner to the point that it looked splotchy in normal lighting. The tech working on my hands also didn't get the edges well. A tad disappointed given the price but lesson learned...I'm only going to MVT from now on.

Another victim here. Lol. Guys the reviews are not Karens, it's FACTS!…read more My own bad for not coming here to look at reviews first before doing a walk-in manicure. I thought the store was cute and looked "professional", It turned out it is just look...nothing professional. I came here cause I was around to have lunch and thought since I have some time before meeting my friends around I'll do a manicure besides waiting around by the pier. Walked in and no one welcomed me and the receptionist was somewhere hidden in the back, already a red flag but I thought I had time to spend so I'll wait. Well a good 5 mins here she comes and she polite, but once she sat me down she's back to her phone call with a friend or something, not at the front. Ok? That already doesn't look good. Then the manicure, it was nice a clean up and the guy who did it was careful and paitent with my nails, good service. But then I showed him the design which he says he doesn't do designs, so a girl helped me instead. She's nice as well, but her skill is 0. I feel bad to say, but I can't believe she doesn't have any sense in nail art. It's terrible, and I can definitely do it myself... and better! If it's just not good enough I'll take it (cause I'm a painter so it's hard to be on my OCD level), but she's... not a nail art artist at all!!! Omg?! How are they trained to do this job but is less than a normal person doing it for a friend? I hope my photos show you the quality as evidence. Please don't go there. I also costed me $70+ (tips included) just for a manicure with "design". I'm pretty upset, but at the same time I know this my own fault to not research beforehand. Annnnd I am buying a nail gel set now cause it's just hard to find a good nail artist in DC! Even with a fancy nail store, they tend to do a mediocre job. Not recommend and spend your money with 1 manicure here for 2 manicures somewhere else!
