Stopped by today to get some weekly needed grocery items, and saw this wrap and decided to try it for lunch! I got the grilled chicken wrap (as a wrap lover) and enjoyed it. It was fresh, the chicken was not dry, and flavorful. I thought it was a unique addition to add broccoli since it's not usually in most grilled chicken wraps, and it paired perfectly. I would definitely get this again and want to try the other items. The service here has been great every time i've stopped by as well! read more

The food is amazing!!! I'm not doing any cooking on thanksgiving. I ordered the Thanksgiving family feast, which has a variety of appetizers, salads, entrees with sides and deserts. I usually order their food for the holidays. Fantastic Antipasto tray, white meat Turkey breast tray, extra, spiral ham, lasagna, Penne Ala vodka, stuffed mushrooms, house salad, mash potatoes and butter sweet potato mash along with spinach quiche. Coconut custard pie desert. I ordered a lot for home and my parents house. Their food is like mama made it. Delicious!!! You will not go hungry. You can't get different orders , they have everything Fish, butcher, deli, prepared meals breakfast lunch dinner, deserts bakery bread and market. Specialized in Italian gourmet cuisine cheeses meats and pasta. The owners, mangers and staff are so nice and treat you like family. I can only comment on the food I tried here. I had stuffed artichokes ($8 each) and two different kinds of rice balls ($4 each). The artichokes were huge. The breadcrumb stuffing was very tasty and there was plenty of it. The artichoke appeared to be cooked appropriately too. One of the rice balls I had was with ground beef and peas. This was a little bland I thought. There did not seem to be much flavor in the beef. The other one was with sausage and broccoli rabe. This was my preferred choice of the two. The broccoli rabe was not bitter at all and went well with the ground sausage. Both rice balls in general were huge too. Will I go back? I did not attend, but I might. read more

This deli is incredibly beautiful with all of the rich colors and savory foods all over. So much good you don't know what to choose! Everything tastes fresh and the selection of side salads is enormous. I normally order a cold cut sandwich, meatballs or chicken parm. Can't go wrong with anything though! Rudely treated and bullied by deli worker who refused to tell me his name. Over charged me and when I brought it to his attention yelled at me and taunted me. First said his name was David, then Franklin. Maybe your employees should wear name tags so when they verbally abuse a senior citizen we know who they are. Immaculately clean with a better class of shoppers and workers than i find anywhere else! i come from Elmont with my mom..my parents did their shopping here for over 40 years!! parking lot always busy so have patience.. huge selection of food and even the cases and shelves are clean!! the cashiers were kind and patient also. the food here is prepared in front of you and even the place smells delicious! some of the items are more expensive than other food stores but when you add in everything else--it's worth it! never had a problem with anyone either shopper or worker..very happy! read more

I went in and ordered a sandwich later in the afternoon today. There are 5 people working behind the deli counter milling around and no one in line in front of me, but I still had to wait around 10 min before 1 of them acknowledged me. I was met by an employee who had the personality of a paper bag; I ordered a roast beef hero w/ American cheese ,lettuce, tomato, mayo with xtra s/p. Not hard, by any stretch. I was surprised to see the hero was $10 as that is more expensive than Valley catering and A&S park store, both located within 300 yards of eastern meats. I got home and the guy forgot to put mayo, cheese and s/p on my sandwich! With incompetent employees like these, plus an inflated price I'll take my business elsewhere If you're looking for a place with a good sandwich, nice employees and reasonable prices, GO ELSEWHERE AS YOU WONT FIND THEM AT EASTERN MEAT FARMS! read more

There is absolutely no social distancing in this store. Customers are crowding at the deli counter. You cannot take one step around the isles without coming close to someone. There are no signs on the floor for keeping 6 feet apart for the checkout line. Because of the layout and size of the store , the manager should limit the amount of shoppers entering the store at one time. I will not go there again under the present circumstances. read more

Most of the older guys are wise alecs who think they are funny and are not. im just there to order deli food. guy was yelling at me to come to front of line I was in back and next avail customer who needed service. when I go to front, he expected me to yell to him to the back (where he was) what I wanted. I pointed to my throat showing I couldn't yell. he just mocked me, so you using hand signs now was his remark. I don't need this bs. Excellent Italian speciality market... has been a staple of the Franklin Square neighborhood forever. I used to work there as a kid stocking shelves. Great people own this and a few other small business' and they are as good of humans as they are business owners. Slightly pricey in theory but EVERYTHING is fresh. Great deli and meat department. I shop here frequently. I can get great meat in small sizes, made for one person. The staff is always friendly and polite. I wait less time in line to pay than in the supermarket as well. Cold cuts are always fresh due to the sheer volume they sell. Their prepared foods are also good (some things are better than others). Try them and find what you like. After surgery on my hand (I could not use a knife) this place was a godsend. I bought prepared dinners, etc. I have also had them prepare a leg of lamb for me for Easter, just the way I wanted it. I come here specifically for one thing and one thing only - The pasta salad with spinach and feta cheese. It is the best pasta salad!! I love it and I buy 2 pounds at a time. I have also tried their beef pinwheels and chicken pinwheels which are great on the grill. You cant get them stuffed with cheese, spinach, among other things. The prosciutto bread is also amazing, gotta pick some of that up too. The parking lot can get crowded so get there early. The cashiers are quick and you rarely spend a long time on line. read more

We buy everything here we buy our meat for the week,we have catered Thanksgiving with them they have wraps sides and all types of food, cold cuts cheese etc: it is immaculate and everything I have ever eaten from there is amazing! Unfortunately, I wasn't very thrilled with the quality of the arancini and other fried treats I'd picked up, although the mozzarella and bread were of great quality. My go to for quick pick ups: Fresh pastas, Marconas, Fresh Broocoli Rabe (without being overcooked or under seasoned) and other Italian staples, all cooked well. Seasonal fresh veggies, meats, and some Italian baked snacks (biscotti, rainbow cookies, etc.) No seafood but Seafood Galaxy is THE FRESHEST, period! If you need to know anything, ask the skilled meat counter guys, not the youthful cashiers. They're efficient only. Will continue to support. read more

My husband bought a dry aged tomahawk steak today for the first time. He was so excited to eat it and paid $63. He ate 3 pieces and could not eat any more because it was all fat. He called and spoke to the manager and all the manager could say is that that type of steak is fatty and he can't do anything about it. They should have told my husband that it was a fatty steak before buying it! Being a regular customer there, he should have either given him a refund for it or have allowed him to choose something else. Eastern meats would rather lose a regular customer over $63 so stupid in my opinion. The manager also had an attitude. As a business owner you should be professional. This got me so annoyed that I had to post. We will no longer be shopping there. There are plenty of other places to go!! read more

Eastern Meat Farms is a neighborhood staple for the Italian community of Franklin Sq. and Elmont. I know people who have moved away and come back just to get their regular Eastern foods either from the butcher/deli or some of the Italian specialty goods they stock. They carry all the necessities for Sunday dinner, a variety of meats, cheeses, produce, herbs, bread, deli meats and even sushi. It's pricier than a supermarket and can get extremely crowded because it's so tiny, but it's Eastern Meats. If you live here, you shop there. Now for the rest. It seems wrong to give such a significant local place less than 5 stars, but I have to admit that I am not impressed with the cleanliness of the store. The parking lot and pavement outside are dirty, stained, oil-slicked, and smell horrible. The interior of the store obviously gets some of this filth dragged in. In addition, I have seen some of the guys working behind the butcher area chewing gum and also pack out raw meat then jump right back to the meat slicer behind the deli counter. Cashiers eat potato chips, cheetos and nuts while packing my veggies. Recently cringeworthy is that people are not stopped from taking their pets into the store. One lady I've seen there twice likes to pick up her shaggy dog and place him in one of the shopping wagons. As if fleas aren't bad enough, recall the state of the oil- and likely feces-encrusted parking lot that the dog just walked through (same with kids standing in wagons). Now put your fresh bread, cold cuts, and parsley down on that, then stick them on your counter top or in your fridge at home. Delightful. It's great to be a quaint Italian-American market, but standards are important. read more

I moved into the neighborhood three years ago, and this small specialty market has been my go to spot for everything Italian and then some. There's a full deli counter with lots of prepared foods which range from acceptable (breaded chicken cutlets) to exceptional (stuffed peppers, eggplant parmigiana and most everything else!). There's also a refrigerated case of prepared individual meals that are wonderful--convenient and tasty--like stuffed shells or chicken Marsala. There are substantial fruit and veggi, dairy case, and grocery departments so you can do almost all your shopping there, though you'll spend more than at pathmark. But it's worth the convenience and the availability of Italian espressos, Easter and Christmas treats (more kinds of panettone that I knew existed). The guys behind the deli counter are extremely rude and pigs. They stare at women like they're pieces of meat. The manager there is cruel. Several times I've gone there and you can hear him yelling at other employees from a block away. That is no way to treat your employees I refuse to go in there because of their attitudes and there personalities. I have shopped there for 6 yrs and yes it's $$$$$$ But you get what you pay for. The hot food is above average and very good. I must say the fried cappellini is outrageous. the cold cuts are average Boars head and their home brand nothing special. The cold foods pre made sandwiches like Panini's and wraps and heroes are also very good. There are even premade meals like chicken Parmesan, pasta Primavera, turkey meatloaf, and stuff to that nature they are awesome. the turkey meatloaf is recommended. The salads and deli items are also good and there is a large selection to choose from and they all look good. The meat and chicken is fresh but pricey. What I don't buy there is the vegetables they are also pricey compared to a fruit stand or a supermarket but people buy It there I guess cause it's convenient. Vegetables always look fresh and I definitely recommend getting your cheese from them they have a good selection it's well worth it. The big Downsides is the crowds on the weekends and holidays expect to wait a long time online at the deli counter. the parking lot is small and crowded and crazy. Don't let that scare you. It used to be a five......all meat was good but sadly they keep messing with the chopped sirloin. One week it's great the next it's a paler fatty consistency. People come here for great meat.....the supermarket is cheap and you get cheap meat! Charge more if you must but don't play with the burger meat. When you get q greasy mess in the pan you know. Otherwise I loved everything here....the cooked salmon and sole are excellent as are numerous other items we have tried. We drive from Oceanside once a week and stock up but will stop if the burger meat keeps changing. read more
