I've passed by Sons of a Butcher countless times but I finally moseyed on in this past Saturday afternoon. I was looking to grab a Tomahawk steak and they were so reasonably price and large that I ended up getting two! They were $25/pound, so they came out about $125 I believe. That's 2.5 pounds of sheer carnivore goodness right there! I also picked up their fully prepared chicken parm and ziti, rice balls, mashed potatoes and two pizzas. They have a deal where you if pick up 3 of their $12.99 prepared dinner options, you get them for $30 total.. score! I cooked one of the steaks the same night and WOW.. it was incredible. The marbling was just perfect and the fat caps, while large enough to help aid with flavor, were small enough that trimming wasn't necessary. Had the best tasting meat experience yesterday!! Purchased an A5 Japanese Wagyu Ribeye from Sons of a butcher. You can't find this meat at most local butchers. What a great experience !! This is where the expression "melts in your mouth" comes from. The best tasting, most tender and extremely marbled steak I've ever had. Joe and the other butchers were fully aware that this purchase was an investment for us. They were all on board with cooking advice to make sure that we had an exceptional experience with this meat! The Big steppa looked good on Yelp but I have to say wasn't an accurate photo. The pieces of chicken I got wasn't fresh or as meaty as their photo. The chicken lacked seasoning, very dry and if it wasn't for the sauce I probably wouldn't have eaten it. Their cold-cut sandwich very different experience with lots of meat. This place is heaven under one roof. The staff is excellent and very helpful, but it's all about the meat. They have a selection that'll have you licking the glass window, and the prices are very fair. They run a weekly special's list which comes out usually every Wednesday, and it's basically Christmas for carnivores once a week. Ordered the mac attack Cold, mac & cheese, cold chicken, cutlet, cold bacon it was terrible. The only thing good was the bread. Also ordered a BLT I specifically told the man behind the counter, bacon, lettuce, tomato with cheddar extra mayo When I unwrapped the sandwich, it is one little piece of bacon with turkey, no tomato and a little bit of lettuce. We went after work to get some skirt steaks on sale. It's a cute butcher shop. They have a very good selection of meats. The butchers were friendly and accommodating. There's homemade sausage that is very good. We got a tomahawk steak for dinner that night as well as some skirt steaks. The tomahawk steak was nicely marbled and very flavorful. Ok, so I treat my family to Wagyu every New Years Eve. I wasn't willing to travel into Manhattan for my spot and found this fine shop. Price per lb for Japanese A5 wagyu was better than I'm used to paying. The steak was unreal!!! Everything I expected, and more. Writing this review immediately after eating the second half of my Italian Hoagie for dinner. IT'S SO GOOD. I always come in for the classic Italian sandwiches but everything seems to be such high quality. If I lived closer I would get all my steaks here etc. The guys have the most perfect NY accent and attitude that work there. It's a perfect NY staple. At that time they totally went out of their way to find me a brisket at the very last minute when the one I had bought elsewhere turned out to be awful, fatty and just a bad cut. Arthur and Vito were so sweet to me. They found me a brisket, trimmed it and it was the best brisket I ever had. Since then I buy all my meat, chicken and deli meats from them. Here is what I love: Great selection Prices on every items Weekly sales on multiple cuts Frequent sales on super popular cuts like skirt steak Quality of meat is awesome. Last week, we got Wagyu brisket, had to buy the whole pack to get advantage of the pricing. Cut the 20 lb hunk into 5 portions, froze 3 to be used later and cooked 2 in a slow cooker. The meat was amazing. Brought some of the cooked brisket to my Dad, now he is 85 years old, so he is not really able to eat tough and chewy meat like he used to when has young, it has to be really great texture, and he said this was the bomb. This weekend, I will use the brisket for the burgers, normally, I make them with chuck that I grind myself, but I want to experiment with the brisket now. Two days ago, they had an amazing special on the skirt steak. Now, if you know the meat market, the prices are through the roof, but especially so for the skirt steak, which has been previously known as an inferior cut to the big players like fillet mignon, rib eye and strip, but over the past few years has become number 2 in popularity, after fillet mignon. Personally, this is my favorite cut, in fact, I won't go to a steakhouse that does not have this cut on the menu. Skirt steak now go for 25 bucks a pound, and that's untrimmed weight for you. Well, SOB's were having a sale at 16 bucks, so we got 3 packages, this will last us through the entire summer for the BBQ, and then, fingers crossed, the prices will go down, or SOB will run another sale. read more

Been getting our meat from this place since the opened. Have had prime rib eye , the filet, Wagu ribeye, all have been phenomenal. The stuffed pork chops are excellent, stuffed chicken breast fantastic. Just had the marinated skirt steak, put it on the grill for about 12 minutes best skirt steak I've ever had. Stopped in for the first time during the coronavirus panademoc quarantine, they were allowing three customers in at a time and also to local deliveries, store was very clean & well laid out with a great selection of meats, You can make your own burger with fillings as well! Sausages looked insane, some choices were broccoli Rabe w provolone, hot sweet and cheese links,they also had a variety of take-home meals, pasta etc. Everybody behind the counter was extremely friendly, I went with the marinated skirt steak for the fam and huge pieces of filet mignon, had a 25% off coupon and saved alot!Went home and threw it on the grill and the skirt steak was so flavorful and tender!
