Normally, I'd just order what I need and have it shipped. Today was something different. Loaded up the family and drove 90 minutes to go to the store in Ithaca. I was surprised that they had a tiny selection of paddling gear. The staff was unfriendly and inattentive at best, and the gentleman at the register had the personality of a wet fart. They expended zero you know whats to even acknowledge a customer. There's plenty of room for improvement. While I'm not done with REI, I'm good if I never go back to this location.

It has the same high quality products but seems very small and short in inventory compared to the REI stores I've been to elsewhere. What really blows my mind is this is in ITHACA whose signature activity is hiking AND SENECA LAKE and they have no kayaks or paddle boards or really anything related to water activities. I was absolutely shocked as I wanted to look at some of those items and there is nothing here. Dick's sporting goods in godforsaken Binghamton has more water activity items than REI. I truly hope this is a temporary issue they will rectify. Huge disappointment.

On the app some of the colors had gotten clearanced and the color he liked in the store was one of those marked down online to 19.47. The cashier looked at the app and scanned the item which was still coming up full price in the store. The cashier asked if I wanted him to ask a manager I said sure can't hurt. The employee said cause it was a clearance item it couldn't be price matched. I said ok well I'm not paying full price for the shirt I don't need it that bad so I headed to my car. That's when Chris came all the way to the parking lot to tell me they would absolutely match the price and there had been some confusion. He said they wanted to make sure I got what I wanted. Played with basketballs, footballs and baseballs. I looked at some apparel. When I got back to mall entrance cashier, SAME CUSTOMER was at register, still talking to cashier. I waited 5 minutes, mean time, 5 EMPLOYEES STOOD AROUND HER OR WITHIN 20 feet of me while I waited. DONE! Long time shoppers will not return to here or Vestal...Go to Target, Walmart or other smaller excersise stores I have visited. Manager should be embarrassed and reprimanded...Customer service is what is going to keep your stores afloat and not go way of other large merchandisers...Good Bye!!

I recently purchased a pair of Liverpool ankle jeans from Bev & Co. I wore them once and washed…read morethem once. When I took the jeans out of the wash, I found a gaping, threadbare hole at the bottom of one leg, and the very beginnings of a hole near the bottom of the other leg. I immediately returned the jeans to Bev's and requested a refund. After a week had passed, i got a call from the manager who told me I could only have a 'credit' because either my washing machine ripped the jeans or I had bleached them. I explained that my washing machine has NEVER put holes in any article of clothing (much less jeans) and that I don't, and didn't, use bleach Then the manager said, "Well, it's your word against mine." Really? Apparently it's common practice for Bev & Co. staff to call their customers "liars." Most legitimate businesses will stand by their merchandise and respect their clientele. Not the case at Bev & Co. I don't know what was wrong with these jeans but they were unquestionably defective and it was not my fault. I currently have 5 articles of clothing in my closet that I purchased from Bev & Co: One by Ttibal, two by Habitat and two by Clara Sun Woo. Not exactly a fly-by-night customer. However, I guarantee you that I just made my last purchase at this so-called boutique. And that's no lie.

But the service - today I had about $150 of clothes to try on. Dressing rooms in the back closed, only two in the front of the store opened. After waiting over ten minutes, asked an associate if they could open the rooms in the back - she said "no, those are only open at certain times during the day." This was noon on a Saturday - when are they busier than that??? I left all my clothes, since there was still someone ahead of me on line and looked like it would be at least another ten minutes to wait.

Old Goat Gear Exchange is a quaint shop right off the commons that sells new and used bikes and all the outdoor gear you could ever need! They also sell used items (for great deals) on consignment. Steve gets to know his customers, and when I walk in, he greets me by name with a smile on his face. Quarantine got you down? Old Goat still has bikes, despite the nationwide shortage. I've never felt more welcome at a local bike shop than at Old Goat Gear Exchange and will continue to bring my bikes in for service. I will likely purchase some other doodads to support a great resource in our community.

I've bought snowboots (used), gaiter (used), ski poles (used), and other things here. Reasonably priced! I love it! When you fail finding gears you need at ReUse Center, this is the place to check. Definitely consider stopping by before buying anything new from box stores like EMS. If you really need new stuff, you can also check the outdoor store on Commons .. keep your money working for the local economy!

One customer left and another came over and asked me if I thought it was appropriate behavior. She then said after we heard the political comments "I can't buy anything here" and left. Just as I glanced at them, the one - who later identified herself as "the manager" asked if I needed assistance. I said "thank you for finally asking". She said.. "we were just venting."- I continued.. "oh yes, we ALL have heard it-- there have been 3 of us in here and 2 have left because you have carried on a personal conversation that can be heard throughout the store! She then proceeded to tell me she had the right to refuse service as I was being rude to her! Refusing service?? She didn't provide any! Needless to say, my husband left the 3 pairs of shoes he was going to buy and we left. So possibly 5 sales lost but definitely 3! If the sales are tanking, this type of erratic, unprofessional behavior may be why. No wonder stores are closing when this is the type of employees representing the store. Corporate will be getting a call.

I told the employee who was monitoring the area and she got Roxanne, the floor manager of the day. Roxanne said that this was my problem and I'd have to call Walmart Tech Support. What the hell? My problem. Then she told me that I had not paid for the $35 bag of dog food and to pay again, which I did. I got to my truck and called my credit card company. They confirmed that I had paid twice. I went back in the store with the credit card agent on the phone. I found Roxanne and told her she could speak with them to confirm that I had paid twice. She declined and took off running across the store, back to the service desk. I followed her and told her that I would dispute the charges. She then said that she'd give my $35 back via a refund. When I called to speak with the manager to report what had happened Roxanne got on the line and pretended to be her own manager. What?! I hung up on her and called again. This time I got someone above Roxanne who said that she would be pulled into an office for a retraining meeting today. The manager was apologetic and seemed aghast by what i relayed to him. I have shopped at this store in Watkins Glen for 15 years and have never had a problem. This was bad. This Roxanne person needs to be retrained or fired. All of this was unnecessary. That's what I get for telling an employee that their machine wasn't working and was sending electronic receipts to the worng customer. Leaves a bad taste in one's mouth!!

Like most, missing things supply-wise on the shelves here and there but mostly some supplies here and there to substitute. No disinfectant wipes. Lots of Suave sanitizer now. Parking lot coming from the one side is a no right turn but lot had plenty of space and wasn't busy on a Monday.
