I waited 5 minutes, mean time, 5 EMPLOYEES STOOD AROUND HER OR WITHIN 20 feet of me while I waited. DONE! Long time shoppers will not return to here or Vestal...Go to Target, Walmart or other smaller excersise stores I have visited. Manager should be embarrassed and reprimanded...Customer service is what is going to keep your stores afloat and not go way of other large merchandisers...Good Bye!!

Today one of the employees named Chris went above and beyond running out to my car to get me. My…read moreboyfriend saw a button shirt he liked in our new store so I looked it up on the app for a possible Christmas present. The shirt retails for 65.00 and I never pay retail price. On the app some of the colors had gotten clearanced and the color he liked in the store was one of those marked down online to 19.47. The cashier looked at the app and scanned the item which was still coming up full price in the store. The cashier asked if I wanted him to ask a manager I said sure can't hurt. The employee said cause it was a clearance item it couldn't be price matched. I said ok well I'm not paying full price for the shirt I don't need it that bad so I headed to my car. That's when Chris came all the way to the parking lot to tell me they would absolutely match the price and there had been some confusion. He said they wanted to make sure I got what I wanted. Thank you to Chris and Kamir the cashier for all your help today.

There was wayyy too much stuff for the space and it ended up feeling very claustrophobic in here…read moreand unorganized. I was stepping over stuff on the floor and brushing against hanging clothes. A lot of the clothes were also in bags, and I'm not sure how people would know what they're looking at without fully unwrapping them which seemed impossible in the space. It ended up feeling really junky and I got out of here as soon as possible. It would work for them if they cleaned up a ton, displayed their clothes differently, and put away about half of the stuff out.

Basically the owner got AGGRESIVE insisting that MEN don't buy WOMENS clothes (um, what) also it's a black zip up so...zip it. His ridicule of my 16 year old escalated and as we decided to leave and not give any $$$ to this man (who started out cranky but legit is mentally unwell and possibly dangerous), he started approaching us to the point that I put myself between him and my daughter. We felt threatened and unsafe and needless to say wouldn't return if our lives depended on it. How this biz is still open is an utter shock. Clearly Ithaca isn't the community I thought it was to allow this place to stick around.

Normally, I'd just order what I need and have it shipped. Today was something different. Loaded up the family and drove 90 minutes to go to the store in Ithaca. I was surprised that they had a tiny selection of paddling gear. The staff was unfriendly and inattentive at best, and the gentleman at the register had the personality of a wet fart. They expended zero you know whats to even acknowledge a customer. There's plenty of room for improvement. While I'm not done with REI, I'm good if I never go back to this location.

It has the same high quality products but seems very small and short in inventory compared to the REI stores I've been to elsewhere. What really blows my mind is this is in ITHACA whose signature activity is hiking AND SENECA LAKE and they have no kayaks or paddle boards or really anything related to water activities. I was absolutely shocked as I wanted to look at some of those items and there is nothing here. Dick's sporting goods in godforsaken Binghamton has more water activity items than REI. I truly hope this is a temporary issue they will rectify. Huge disappointment.

I emailed Steve and he took a look the next day and fixed everything free of charge. Now that's service. Old Goat Gear Exchange is a quaint shop right off the commons that sells new and used bikes and all the outdoor gear you could ever need! They also sell used items (for great deals) on consignment. Steve gets to know his customers, and when I walk in, he greets me by name with a smile on his face. Quarantine got you down? Old Goat still has bikes, despite the nationwide shortage. I've never felt more welcome at a local bike shop than at Old Goat Gear Exchange and will continue to bring my bikes in for service. I will likely purchase some other doodads to support a great resource in our community.

I've bought snowboots (used), gaiter (used), ski poles (used), and other things here. Reasonably priced! I love it! When you fail finding gears you need at ReUse Center, this is the place to check. Definitely consider stopping by before buying anything new from box stores like EMS. If you really need new stuff, you can also check the outdoor store on Commons .. keep your money working for the local economy!

I rode a new to me e-bike to the shop, to get some: diagnostics on it, get a mirror and have it…read moremounted on it, buy a water caddy and have it mounted on it and get some questions specific to e-bikes answered. They did also this and answered a bike frame fit question that I have never managed to get a correct answer to. The visit was a win and worth the shop labor and time. I will go back to the Cayuga Ski and Cyclery.
