My bonus son was trying to take his girlfriend home during the storm (Tropical Storm Chantal) the other night around 11 pm so she could make it to work the next morning and his motor got flooded by about 2 feet of water. He had to leave his car because it wouldn't start. The car was left for a few hours and by the morning, was gone. No phone call, no warning, nothing. We found out that someone had towed it. Now, Ram's Eastgate Towing is charging us $400 to get the car. They said the fee was set by the city/county. I called the sheriff and PD and they said that this was not true, that rates are set by the towing company. Only NC highway patrol can set rates and by their website, a non-collision is around $185 and $40 storage fee AFTER the first night. The car was picked up early Monday morning and we picked it up on Tuesday. During a state of emergency, these people are capitalizing on people during a hard time. Without warning or notification. We did not get a chance to even get our own tow company and we're not sure if they we're out looking for cars to tow during the storm! They were rude and and unprofessional. We have been without power and water and these people only think about themselves as they kept showing my son the flooding in their driveway at their business, like we should be helping them! I was broadsided in a massive impact crash. My car was totaled. It was traumatizing. The only good thing about the experience was Eastgate Towing. They were quick to the scene and cleared the road immediately the Police allowed. From then on they have done everything to be helpful. They have been available to allow us access to the car to remove personal belongings. Throughout everyone with the company has been courteous and personable. It was like family and friends were helping to make things better. If ever you need a towing service call Eastgate Towing first. If any attending services offer to call for towing tell them to call Eastgate. In this dreadful experience the one good thing was the Fire Department offered to call for towing. I suppose I got lucky because they regarded Eastgate Towing as a trusted and trustworthy company. read more

Very unprofessional. My car was towed by Eastgate Towing at the end of 2020. I contacted them almost a month after it had been towed from an apartment parking lot (where it had a valid permit for 2020-21). They had filed a lien on the car for $200 which I paid in full (also trading in the title since the car had become a bit of a burden) as soon as I learned of the incident. Additionally when I went into their office to pay off the lien at the height of the pandemic, neither of the employees present wore masks. I nor they had tools available then to remove the license plate, but I was told by one of the employees that they would remove it and take it to the DMV the next time they went. I made the mistake of trusting this company, but called back over a month later to check on this process before cancelling my liability insurance and I was then told over the phone verbatim, "I thought you took the license plate to the DMV." After explaining what I was told by the employee a month earlier, he assured me that it would be looked into and he would give me a call back as soon as he had information. He never called back. When I called again a few days later, I told them that I was fully willing to pick up the plate myself and the employee on the phone told me to meet at the property at 3:30 the same day to pick it up. However, when I arrived at the property, the gate was locked. I called the number provided for the company and was told there was no one available despite having not been given any prior notice. If you are looking for a reliable and professional towing company that you can trust, I would personally recommend looking elsewhere. read more
