Eastlake and all the vets and staff are fantastic! I've been taking my dogs here for years and the knowledge from all of the vets is outstanding! Dr. Kieger is very down to earth and very knowledgeable. He saved my pugs eye as he recognized that she had an ulcer and needed immediate surgery. He truly cares about your fur babies:) My lab had two cancerous tumors removed by Dr. Harrington and they have not returned, outstanding surgeon! All of my experiences with Eastlake have been very positive and I highly recommend them! They provide excellent care with great prices and discounts. read more

This review is sooo long over due! I've been taking my Australian shepherd to Dr. Bill Kieger exclusively for the last two years and have never had a bad visit here. I first brought my pup here one day because I lived within 5 minutes of this office and needed an emergency visit for a skin issue; not only were they able to get her in, they didn't charge any extra fee for a same day rush appointment! Dr. Kieger was able to efficiently diagnose her, and also did a full on physical exam, made my pup feel super at ease (she loves this place and Dr. Kieger! lol, seriously), and gave me insightful information regarding my pup's health no other vet had previously told me (ie about teeth health, etc). From that first appointment I knew we had found our vet! Dr. Kieger and the team at Eastlake have continued to go above and beyond my expectations, and everyone at the front desk has always been very kind, helpful and efficient with me as well. I had another appointment for my pup this afternoon, and they handled everything (considering COVID) so well, and I still got to speak with Dr. Kieger in person regarding my concerns. After the appointment he came back out again to personally go over the findings, and because we ended up talking about another aspect of my pup's health, we didn't end up going over a minor thing I had originally brought my pup in for... well, he called me within an hour of the appointment and left me a super nice voicemail apologizing for not bringing the original subject up (I honestly had forgotten myself!) and went over it in detail. Again, I can't stress enough how much I love this vet office, and I now drive 45 minutes to get here. I had been meaning to write this review since our first appointment, but after today's great visit I knew I really should. I wouldn't even give this place one star. I've been going here for over 18 years and the last 2 have been horrible. They don't read the charts from previous visits on your animal. It's like your a inconvenience to them to have there service. And they charge whey more than I think they should. Pass on this place and go elsewhere. read more

I understand there's a pandemic. But that doesn't excuse forgetting about my cats for over 2 hours while they waited, absolutely terrified, in the car. You guys used to be good vets, but now you have absolutely lost mine, and many other's business. If you're struggling, don't take as many patients, and don't forget about people's PETS for TWO HOURS. read more

We have been taking our animals there for the last two years. At first we loved them but then the vet that we were seeing left. I was not happy with Dr. Tracy ' s treatment of my animals. I have also had numerous issues with their front desk staff. They mixed up my animal s records with another cat and wouldn't listen to me when I kept telling them they had the wrong record. Calls not promptly returned when trying to get order clarification. I asked for my dogs records to be faxed 2 times and finally had to go in and pick them up myself. read more

Eastlake does not answer their phone when you call or they put you on a 30 minute commercial repeated over and over. If you leave a message they will not return your call at all. When Dr Tracy was there, the service was much better. I have been a customer of Eastlake Veterinary Services foe 26 years. Now I would not recommend then to anyone who needed a Vet. read more

Grooming review. Just had our Bichon mix groomed here. I spoke with the groomer before the process and let her know what we would like and she did it exactly how we wanted. We didn't have to leave her there too long and price is very reasonable. This is also her vet and they are great. read more

Brought my dog in because she snagged/cut her dew claw. The staff at the front desk was very helpful, upfront about services and fees, and very polite. The technician and doctor were very quick, caring, and genuinely nice people. They recommended my dog get updated on her shots and I didn't feel any pressure in doing so. I've found that vets often pressure you into services and then when it's all said and done, you have a massive bill. That wasn't the case here...I will be bringing my dog back for regular checkups and nail trims. Very satisfied with the work done here!! read more

They took great care of my Buddy when I went on vacation. I had to board him even though he was having a colitis flare up. They treated him and helped him get better by the time I got back. He wasn't neurotic from boarding which has happened at other boarding places. I do not trust any other vet clinic and drive from Glendale, CO to take Buddy to Eastlake. This is the WORST vet I have ever been to. The front desk is very rude and disrespectful. The vet tech was dragging my dog inside as she was crying & choking, I asked the tech to pick her up and she refused. the tech was VERY UNPROFFESIONL. I sadly had to put one of my dogs down and this office got all my final wishes for my dogs remains wrong. They had no remorse that my last memories of my dog was getting her back with all the wrong things. I was unsure if it was even my dog. I will NEVER take any of my animals back to this facility and I recommend you DON'T either. All this office cares about is the money. after my vet appt the doctor is supposed to call and inform you of the findings, I still have yet to speak to the doctor. It is obvious this vet clinic only cares about the money not the people or the pets. I have never been more disgusted with a facility in my life! I've been taking my dogs to Eastlake for many years for vet services and boarding. They are caring and thorough, and I'm very comfortable leaving my dog with them (I only have one now). They are all clearly pet lovers. The services may cost more than other options, but you get what you pay for. They do a good job, and I like that they know my pet and her health history. read more

We bring our dog to Eastlake Vet for grooming services. We are very happy with their grooming services! We have been to many groomers and have had a lot of trouble finding anyone who can adequately groom our bichon frise. But the groomers at Eastlake treat us and our dog with friendly professional care. Their prices are competitive and their service is great! We have also used Eastlake for boarding our dog for a 3 night stay. We were very happy with their boarding service too! read more

I don;t give a 5-star rating lightly. We've been taking our Siberian cats to Eastlake for 7 years. Recently, two incidents showed us how deeply they care for animals. One of our cats drank some cream with xylitol in it. I had read somewhere that xylitol is dangerous to dogs, and called Eastlake. A vet patiently explained to me what to watch for, the possible risks, and his belief that xylitol is not dangerous to cats. He then put me on hold, went and researched this to verify his opinion! He came back and assured me that there should be no danger, but nevertheless took extra time to assure me that unless certain symptoms happened within so many hours, she was a safe kitty. He never asked me for any money. He could easily have asked $100 for his time. I will never forget this. We had a similar experience with our older Siberian cat (wonderful breed!) but in her case it's simply being overweight. The same vet patiently took the time to explain what's going on, our possible remedies, and to warn me of the life-threatening risk of rapid, forced weight loss. Again, no charge! Yes, we have been outstanding customers for 7 years, but still this is beyond gracious. (When we come into some money, I intend to make a donation in the name of Eastlake to a particular pet rescue charity that's organized and run by our favorite petsitter. See below.) To say that we love these vets would be accurate. We do. (We are also blessed with the best petsitter: Wags 'N Walks. Been with them for years as well.) read more

We have taken our two dogs, Viggo & Rajha, to Eastlake Veterinary Services for the past 3 years. They have always been very friendly and easy to communicate with. Until recently we had been taking them in for routine check ups and vaccinations. Their teeth cleaning, and grooming services are top rate too. Well, a few weeks ago my brother took our dogs off leash in a rural area and when he brought them back we noticed a few spots of blood on our floor. We looked over the dogs and didn't notice any wounds. A week later I noticed on of the dogs was acting lethargic and when he was laying on his side I noticed a large fleshy abscess on his stomach....he was in bad shape. We called Eastlake immediately and they were sooo accommodating. We bought Viggo in and they were able to get him shaved and the wound cleaned immediately. They determined that he had received a small puncture wound (likely barbed wire) and had licked it as it became infected. Within no time we had him back at the house with the cone of shame on and a antibiotic regiment. He is totally healed and back to himself thanks to the amazing team at Eastlake Veterinary Services...you guys are the best! read more

I had a really bad experience at another "Emergency" vet in the area. They basically ran up $1000 worth of bills, and said my cat had a virus and needed antibiotics. 2 months later, she was sick again. Dr Parra-Cruz took the time to run only the necessary tests, and not charge me a small fortune. In the end, I have a cat with food allergies/intolerance who needs a special diet. I'm so glad I took my kitty here for a second opinion. I even get follow up calls just to see how she's doing on her new food. read more

I give Eastlake 3/5 stars because the vet care that my dogs receive is great. They never push medications, special food, or any other gimmicks on us. I feel like the vet really wants to help our dogs, and if necessary, will recommend medication or even OTC/home remedies to help them. If I could give the vet care 5 stars, I would. If I could give the front office staff one star, I would do that also. They are rude and typically fail to follow up. I have only had trouble a couple of times, but my husband is constantly complaining about how awful the girls are on the phone and front desk. In fact, we have considered changing vets just so we don't have to deal with them, but I personally love the vet there (and the techs are good too), I have convinced him to stick with Eastlake. Who knows how much longer we will be going to and recommending Eastlake Vet. read more

Reading a lot of the reviews here and realized I am in the same boat. I Have been taking my cat to this clinic since 2012. Everything seems to be OK except for today. I showed up for a allergy shot for my cat and was told they will not give him the shot unless they have a physical exam on him. I was never told that he WILL NOT GET another shot until they have a physical exam on him. I was told he is due for an exam. I took him to another vet for a second opinion of the allergy medication and they gave him a physical exam 2 months ago. Why would I want to pay for it again? I called to confirm the appt yesterday and there was no mention of the "condition" of having a shot. This just feels blackmailed! The medication was not great to begin with as he never STOPS sneezing. I guess this is the final straw! read more

We took our recently rescued Rottie mix to the vet. She was extremely terrified and was having a very hard time. The vet spent over an hour with us going over everything and allowing our dog to calm down and not be so scared. She calmed all of our worries and handled out dog well. She gave us options for how to treat our dog to allow us to be comfortable. The cost was very reasonable for our visit. We were early and they made sure to get us right back to a room to get started. We have taken our dog to eastlake for 6 years we have what I would like to a call a very accident prone dog. They have performed three surgeries on our dog and each time they were very good to us and him. The staff is always friendly up beat and very helpful. The last time we took him in he unforunately didn't make it after taking him in to an emergency clinic we were miss diagnosed that our dog was just having an upset stomach and could have eaten something bad. After watching him over night he continued to get worse and worse we rushed him in to eastlake and when they got him our dog had gone into shock and was on his last breath. They workedfast and were able to stabilize him he was rushedinto surgery where they untwisted his stomach he had what they called bloat. He unfortunately passed away in recovery his organs shut down from not working correctly for too long. This was a very emotional event for our family. The staff allowed us to come and say our goodbyes and a few Weeks later presented us with his Ashes and paw print free of charge. In the 6 years we were clients I was always very impressed with the care and professionalism shown. If we ever decide to get another dog Eastlake will once again be our vet of choice! read more

Eastlake Veterinary is the BEST place to take your pets. We get immediate care for our dog whenever we take her in. Anytime there has been an issue, we are told in detail what is needed and what the cost will be. In addition, we are given alternate treatment ideas that are natural and less expensive, to choose from. We've never been pressured to accept additional services that are not necessary. Everyone is kind and gentle and friendly to us and to our dog. I would never take her anywhere else! read more

Hello, it has taken me about a week to get to a mental state that allows me to be civil in this post. Last Thursday we faced the difficult decision to have Wilma euthanized. A decision such as that is not easy or taken lightly. Wilma had been with us for 10 years and we had watched her go from a young, active Basset Hound to a geriatric pooch with all the aches and pains we all face. I contacted the veterinary clinic (Eastlake Veterinary Clinic) we have used for many years to ask about their euthanasia service. Here is what I was told: "you can bring her in but we will need to perform a full physical before WE will consent to moving forward with euthanasia." I was stunned and asked why a full physical? Answer: "so we can explore options." This needs to be read as-so we (the vet service) can make more money off of you before your pet dies. Further, their euthanasia service is almost double the cost of other clinics in the area. The attitude received is in-line with the responses we have received the past few times we visited the clinic with Wilma. Namely, she had a sebaceous cyst on her tail. Rather than evaluate options, we were told point blank, we will need to remove her entire tail and it will cost $600-800. They didn't even look at her tail. In addition, earlier in Wilma's life, she had some lumps and bumps as ALL Bassets get. The first response from the vet was "could be cancer so lets biopsy." OK, sounds good but as we read more about vets this is a common ploy to get more $ from anxious pet owners. We bit initially, but as time went on, we questioned the practice and were hit with "well, you better have it checked soon so the cancer won't spread." The most egregious act was years ago when Wilma had a limp. It was suggested that we have a knee replacement done on her. WTF? really? What about options? I believe you all get the point. Thus, for anyone who lives in the Thornton area, avoid Eastlake Veterinary Clinic! Go anywhere else! Eastlake portrays Christian values with their BS Christian music playing and their Noah's Arc wall paper. Beware, they are out to take your money and exploit pet owners fear and anxiety about their pets. Enough said. read more

I am so disappointed in this office. The receptionists are friendly and seem competent. The doctor we saw however is rude and unprofessional. She diagnosed our 3-year-old yorkie mix with a pancreatic infection and prescribed 2 medications and low-fat prescription dog food. According to the discharge papers we were to feed her that special diet for two weeks then gradually reintroduce her regular diet. We followed the directions. The dog did not get better . I scheduled another appointment to explain that our dog did not respond to that treatment, and sometimes she wouldn't even eat the prescription food. I told her I thought it may be a misdiagnosis, and we should persue other ideas of what could be causing her diarrhea and vomiting ( sometimes with visible blood). The vet got all snippety and said that since I had started to give our dog her regular food gain, I "hadn't followed her protocol and a blood test came out positive for pancreatitis." Essentially she absolutely could not/ would not be wrong or mistaken, even though I DID read and follow directions exactly and the dog is still sick. Also she perscribed pain medication (which I did give) even though the dog is clearly not in pain (she snuggles, wags, runs, drinks and barks as usual). The vet we had to deal with (my adult daughter dealt with her first and told me she was rude and condescending) is rude, self-serving and may be great with animals, but stinks at people skills. We got a recommendation from a friend and got an appointment the same day. The treatment is similar but with my questions answered in an adult to adult manner, I feel so much better. There are too many choices for vets in this area to deal with the nonsense going on at Eastlake Vet. Thank you. read more

So this was my dog's vet for about the past 4 years. I always felt like the service was just okay. Earlier this year in February I took my dog in for an annual exam. I discussed with the Doctor having my dog's teeth cleaned and some gum surgery. I consented to bloodwork preformed that day. They also requested urine and fecal samples to be collected at home and brought back by the office. When I dropped them off about a week and half later I told them I never got a call back regarding the blood work. They told me they tried to leave a message which come to find out was an old number. They said that they would test the samples, give the results to the doctor and call me. Okay, maybe not all their fault, but somewhere along the 2 years that we no longer had that phone number they maybe should have asked for updated information or confirmed the call back number when telling me "We'll call with the results." Gave them the number that should be used to contact me, and, guess what? Never got a call regarding the any of the lab work. By that time a month had passed and the blood work was no longer valid since they want the blood work to be no older than a month. At this point I was feeling pretty much done with them. Like a said, I always felt kind of meh about the office, Things got busy and I haven't been able to find a good chunk of time that we can have his surgery and time to heal and recuperate. So fast forward to today. Yesterday my dog appeared to be having difficulty standing up from a sitting position, all of a sudden. He is 11.5 years old and is slowing, but this was a marked change. He also seemed in some discomfort, lethargic and no appetite--not even for his favorite people foods like bananas, strawberries, of chicken! So first thing this morning I called Eastlake, explained what I had observed. The girl on the other end put me on hold, came back on and asked what my name and dog's name were, and put me on hold again. When she came back she said the first available was Thursday at 5:00, and this was Tuesday morning at 9:00. Shocked, I said asked if that was really the soonest and she said yes. I said thank you and hung up. I contacted another veterinary office (Found on Yelp) and explained what was going on. The girl on the other end said "It sounds like he is in some discomfort. We have some urgent care appointments available today." She gave me 3 times to chose from. When I made the appointment they asked if they could contact our previous vet for records, which of course I said yes. At the appointment they had not received them and actually contacted them again while I was there with my dog. I'm a stickler for customer service and I also feel like loyalty goes a long way. I've been trusting them to care for my dog for 4+ years and it just feels like slap in the face when there's no compassion on the other end and no sense of urgency. So we've moved on. This place used to be a good place to take your pets. Now they have new vet techs and some new vets and it is one of the worst vet places to take your animals. If your animals are good with going to the vet before they will no longer be after going to Eastlake Veterinary. When you take them in to renew their shots they charge you for a "health exam" which is considered listening to their heart and taking their temperature. 40 dollars!! We had 2 dogs...80 dollars!! What a joke that's not even doing anything and it was nothing we brought our 2 dogs in for. We also have had our dogs anal glands leaked and they charged us for that as expected. We took them to a new vet in a different city the day after and they said it was never even done. Please beware of this place as if you have good dogs who don't mind vet visits this will definitely change your dog for life to be scared of veterinary offices. read more

After a referral from a friend we took my daughters 10 year old cat here to be put down. She suffered from birth with an eye disease that had progressively gotten worse. I spoke to the clinic 3 times about problem and then we took her in for her euthanasia appointment which was difficult for both my daughter and I to do. We were sent immediately to a room, signed the papers and paid for it. Then a female doctor came bursting in the door speaking very loudy which freaked the cat out and she scratched the heck out of me and hid behind the computer. I got her out as the doctor informed me that it was not our decision to euthanize the cat, but hers and first we would have to run a battery of tests. When I said no, we don't want her to go thru that and we know it is time for her to be put to rest, she had the audacity to ask, in front of my daughter, if we would sign her over to the vet clinic because it is possible that she just may need a different home. Obviously we left as soon as a refund could be given. The cat was upset, my daughter was distraught and I was pissed. We called Huron Animal Clinic, told them our experience and they stayed open late, apologized for all the trauma, and were amazing with us and our cat. The vet actually was surprised she was only 10 when she held her.......yes, something that the vet at Eastlake never even attempted to do, she didn't even get within 5 feet of the cat. I would never recommend Eastlake as the vets have terrible bedside manner. Go to Huron Animal Clinic, more cost effective and the vets, techs and front office staff are wonderful with animals!! read more
