Went here with some friends for the Christmas pop up. It was definitely fun and festive. This is a cute bar. I live on the east side and not too close to here. So it's my first time. I'd eat and drink here if I lived closer on the regular. Staff was a bit overwhelmed but handling it. More guest than help. They were trying. Just need to be patient and understanding. These girls work hard. Drinks were good and reasonable. Food looked good. We didn't get food but others at our table did. No complaints lots of soups and lots of sliders. All enjoyed. A very old establishment that's been around for many years. Definitely a neighborhood bar. An old house turned into a bar/restaurant. Have been here numerous times and every time it is packed. This season they turned the bar into a Christmas themed attraction. Christmas everywhere and everything. They even included a Winter Food and drink special menu This place is know for its burger so that's of course what I got. It did not disappoint. Ordered with a side of Onion Rings. Unbelievable taste and crunchiness. We ordered a Snickerdoodle martini, a chocolate martini and a Grinch special. All were fabulous. Great hidden away local spot. I came here on a whim and what a treat this was! June was my bartender and is a doll! She set the mode with her welcoming fun spirit and incredible drink innovation. Tried Eastland Inn after some recommendations for a fish fry. Apparently they get really busy so you need to make a reservation. We didn't have one so we had to wait about 15 minutes before a spot opened at the bar. It's small inside with not a ton of seating. The staff works together versus having their own tables so we got asked questions multiple times a lot. Food was good. We had the perch dinner which came with soup or salad, fish, fries, Cole slaw and roll. Perch was well cooked and not greasy. Also opted for pierogi dinner which came with soup or salad and tried the French onion soup. Soup had good flavor, but was a bit salty. Pierogi were good. read more

Fantastic little place. The building itself has a neat history, being a former brothel way back when. It looks like a house when you drive by. Seating inside is a bit cramped if you don't get a spot at the bar as the tables behind the bar are very close together. Beer and drink selection are great. I have yet to dine here, but the general opinion is that the food is top notch. Very friendly staff and locals. If you want to go where the neighborhood folk go, this is the place. Is it a Berea staple that's been around 40+ years? Yes. Is it fancy? No. Does that matter? No. It's not fancy (but many updates have recently been completed), but it's consistent and you know what you're going to get. They have rotating drafts and daily specials. When we were there it was $6 pitchers and wing night (10 for $10). They also have themed trivia nights on Tuesdays. My favorite thing on the menu is the patty melt (seems like fewer and fewer places offer them!) but on my last visit I got the chef salad which was delicious. The updates I mentioned include a small patio, adding additional parking, new tables and chairs, and generally improving the appearance. I've been coming here literally my entire life, and hope to continue to do so for many years to come. read more

Stopped in for the first time the other day for lunch and wow! I ordered the burger pictured and it was great! Cooked perfectly. I went with a side salad which was a feat addition. Cold and crisp with garbanzo beans diced tomato's cucumbers and some great thousand island. Can't wait to head back soon. read more

What a fun little place! From the outside it looks like a cottage that should be on the East coast or a little bar in a movie. Stepping inside is a pleasant surprise. Everything is clean and the decor is eclectic and casual. They have lots of beers on tap and a menu that has options but not too much that looks like a jack of all trades. There aren't a ton of tables so when you get a chance for an open one jump on the chance! I went for the perch sandwich and the fish was fresh and sandwich was good. Meh. Food is good, the rest? Not so much. We visited at about 5;30 on a Friday. Wanted the table by the window but it was reserved for trivia at 8pm. Wth. Called ahead because my husband has mobility issues. Was told there were "only two steps" to get in. Well, there's actually four. Two regular steps plus a tiny one outside, then another one to actually get inside. The entrance is narrow-- I doubt you could get a walker thru it, just for reference. Our server was a dingbat influencer chick who didn't know the beer menu (" look at the yellow paper inside the menu"::narrator:: there was no yellow paper), no hope of finding out what the dark beers were, and rushed us all along the way. Said she'd bring out my side of potatoes, then came back and said "oops, they said they're under the liver," which I could've told her. Had to ask for salt and pepper. Hubby asked for a water refill, she left before I could ask for one, then dropped his off and took off without asking me. Thankfully I was able to get it from a manager. We were asked three times if we needed boxes while we were still eating. Rushed much? Then dipped chick asked if she could take our bill (after dropping it off and saying there was no rush::narrator::there was a rush). We were still eating. Sheesh people, let us enjoy our meal already. Food was very good. Hubby had the perch, I had liver and onions. We also had onion rings which were good. I will say that the specials are on a small board that most people wouldn't be able to read from a distance and they are not on the menu. Hubby had the stuffed cabbage soup which he said wasn't soup--it was basically a stuffed cabbage mashed into a bowl. He liked it except it wasn't soup. Cute ambience if they'd let you enjoy it. I wouldn't recommend it if you have any type of mobility issues, or if you want to take your time and enjoy date night. Came hear at around 4:50 on a Saturday and asked if we could have a table to seat the four of us. The ungracious barmaid barked at us asking if we had reservations claiming all the tables were reserved. Another person, whom I recognized as one of the owners since we've eaten here in the past, unsuccessfully attempted to seat us at the bar but Miss Friendly rudely overruled any attempt to do so claiming all the bar stools were reserved. What? Reserved bar stools! Who's in charge anyway? There was ONE couple eating in the whole dining room with numerous empty tables and maybe three other people at the bar. Must of been amateur hour. This place will never be more than three and a half stars. Had a really nice lunch here, on a recent weekday with co-workers. New management / ownership seems to have led to some quality food changes. Service was prompt and the food appeared to be prepared fresh onsite. I opted for the Friday fried perch lunch special. The plate came with three pieces of fish, fries (but you have a choice of sides), cole slaw and a roll. The fish seemed to be breaded in a light corneal batter and was not heavy yet quite moist. Their tartar sauce was tangy, just the way I like it. Fries were pretty "standard issue". Roll was warm and slightly yeasty (nice!). I am usually not a fan of chopped cole slaw, but their version was crisp and the slightly creamy and vinegary slaw sauce was super-tasty. Others at the table also enjoyed their meals...BBQ brisket sandwich on a pretzel bun, tuna melt and a homemade eggplant parmesan. Based on my group's feedback, I'm sure we will return! read more

I've driven by this place so many times and never stopped in until now, don't make the same mistake. Once you walk through the door you will immediately feel the the hometown vibe that you don't find very often. It's so straight forward long straight bar to the left tables to the right a few TVs, a few beer signs and a lot of friendly people. This definitely could be my local hangout. They're famous for their Lake Erie Perch and let me tell you a lot of places in northeast Ohio claim to serve authentic perch from the lake due north but few consistently do. This is no doubt the best fried Lake Erie Perch I've ever eaten, lightly battered, fried perfectly, it's truly heavenly. I'm not a huge fan of side dishes when I'm eating fish this good but the fresh hand cut fries were awesome. There are a few other things I found to be exceptional here. The service - the prices - and the homemade warm chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream with whipped cream (this is a must try when they have it) I can't wait to return...... read more

Even as a college student, I'd look for chill dives to escape the douchery that oftentimes took over most of the go-to bars around town. Eastland Inn was one gem where I found my oasis away from it all. This is a hole in the wall, but without the sketchiness that usually comes along with that title. It's small, homey and warm. Good brews, whiskeys and some of my favorite grilled cheese around! I just feel like this bar is always filled with good people, whether they're townies, college students, whoever. It's very much like a family-vibe. Not fancy stuff--just a down-to-earth pub. Cheap, strong drinks too! Now, typically I'm not a karaoke-kind-of-gal, but I have to admit that it's a blast here! I think they do it up on Fridays, and since the place is so small, it's a whole bar activity. Plus, most people choose pretty interesting songs to sing, which makes it even more fun! Let's see... The Eastland is a place where you can get a burger, soup, perch, crab legs, pasta, steak, grilled cheese, mussels, or chicken wings. You can also get a bud light, or a Guinness, grey goose dirty martini, a bottle of wine, or a single malt on the rocks. How can they fit all that variety into one-room place that also holds karaoke contests some nights and genius trivia contests on other nights? The first time I came here I was actually about 2 or 3 years old and it was the free peanuts that brought me in (and my parents). Now, they still have chex mix sometimes, but it's the $5 pitchers of Killians on Monday nights that does the trick. You don't really need a calander to know what time of year it is when you're here, the place dresses itself up like its going to a cinco de mayo party or 4th of July cookout. The first time you come, you feel like you meet everyone that works here. The next time you come, you get a lot of handshakes, hugs, and 'welcome-backs.' It just feels like that kinda of place. Watch Out For Hidden CHARGES! Food was good but..... I ordered a drink on the rocks and was charged $2 for the "rocks" (they did give me a generous .50 discount). Additionally the special lent menu offered Perch Dinner with CHOICE of pierogi, french, or mashed potatoes. Only no mention of the $1.25 extra charge for the pierogi until the Bill comes. Their justification? We didn't list any price on the specials menu so doesn't have to state the pierogi is extra. What a great find! Wonderful food! Outstanding service! Cozy atmosphere! Helping a friend who grew up in the area (the Inn is at the end of her street). Stopped in to check the place out. It has changed a lot from what she remembers! Started with the fried artichokes - a revelation. I could have had a double order for dinner. I had french onion soup. I rarely order this out; since it is usually a disappointment. Not in this case. Just perfect. For dinner I have the Friday Special of fried perch. So very good. Lightly fried and fresh. The perogies as my side were great. Dessert was a lemoncello sundae with fresh baked biscotti. Please may I have some more - not that I had any room.. A perfect meal. And the service was just right - friendly and efficient! Serving sizes were ample, prices were reasonable, and the place was immaculate. It is one of those places that I couldn't understand how we were able to get a table. The place should have been packed with a line waiting to get in. Decided on a whim to try this establishment again, it's been a few months. I had such a great experience the first time on a busy Saturday afternoon but I thought I'd try it on a Tuesday at 4 o'clock , opened at 3pm. I walked in to a completely empty room except for one table of four. she asked me how many I said one and then asked me if I had a reservation, I said no she said well find a table but they are all reserved for 7:00 trivia-- ok how friendly. Did she really think I would need 3 hours to have a sandwich?? She came over to get my drink order and I asked her why I needed a reservation for 4 o'clock on a Tuesday she says I don't care what day of the week it is I always ask for reservations --I said for one? She brought my drink I ordered a Reuben sandwich and it's downhill. The Reuben sandwich had 12 oz of sauerkraut on it, the corned beef was sliced very thick rather than shaved and was very fatty with the grilled Ryebread oozing oil as did the way overdone french fries, super double triple crispy with way too much oil oozing out of my them too. Just before I was ready to leave (5:00 now) two ladies walked in they wanted to sit down for dinner --no one asked them if they had a reservation --seated them and was very pleasant to them. Do I sound critical?? Oh yeah and I certainly hope it wasn't Daniela, the owner who treated me this way but my tiny tip reflected this crummy visit. Have no plans to return and those of you who read me often know I dine out 3-5 times a week, try new places often and come with plenty of cash for excessive proper tipping. We went on a Friday afternoon for Fish Fry. Got there at 4:30pm and the place was already packed. We didn't have a reservation but a hi-top was available near the bar. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and pleasant. Fish Fry came with a potato side and salad or soup. Fish was Lake Erie Perch. My dining companion got the Perch dinner and loved it. I used to go to the Eastland Inn weekly for their Tuesday burger specials, and at the time I was never anything less than impressed with how good those burgers were. Somehow I fell out of the rhythm of these lunch stops, and it's been at least a couple of years since I checked the place out again, and I am happy to report that the burgers are as good as they used to be. I don't know what it is, there's certainly nothing fancy about either the food or the presentation, but somehow every burger I've ever had there is the perfect combination of soft fresh bun, crunchy lettuce, tart tomato, and a burger that is just the right proportion with a well melted slice of cheese on top. It sounds like something that shouldn't be that difficult to do, but somehow they manage to do it consistently well here. The end product is perhaps the best burger in this part of town, seriously. They've also updated their menu some since my last visit, lots of new items and sandwiches clustered around the general category of bar/comfort food. One standout from these new items is the Beef Brisket sandwich - a soft thick pile of brisket in mustard bbq sauce on a grilled pretzel roll- a seriously good sandwich. Eastland Inn has been around seemingly forever, and it has the well worn edges of an authentic neighborhood bar. It's unpretentious, homey, and the food is surprisingly good.
