The staff we met was pleasant and efficient. Our server, Mina, did an excellent job all night. If there was a weak point, it would be the food. It was not bad (I'm trying to be kind); it was just uninspired, limited, and not really well prepared. Because they do not offer bread for the table our only option was to order the "Soft Pretzel". It arrived badly overcooked, crunchy not soft, and even boardering on burnt. The charcuterie board was OK, but uninspired. I ordered the "Lemon Chicken" which was a full half chicken in a reasonably good sauce. But the meat was dry and it came only with brussel sprouts (yuk!). My wife had the "Walleye" which she simply said was "okay"... oh well. Our guests weren't any more impressed than we were. I will say our coffee and "Pot de Creme" were very good... thank goodness. Drink wise they had a nice craft beer selection, specializing mostly on Ohio based craft beers. They had a nice list of seasonal cocktails, that both my wife and I were pleased with. The Islander is for goons. Place has strong dousing of social primitive disease that we can safely identify and quarantine. It's called Parma, like Mersa or something. This is a man's bar and I agree with my friend Shannon's review that creeps are all over the place. Summer months too so your seat post near bar sink is suddenly fruit fly oasis, gahh. I venture like I am on an episode of Survivor or Fear Factor. If I can provide a visual of the place in absence of photo I would post the napoleon complex man standing at the bar cursing the Keno board with the vodka tonic. If Yelp could take animated GIFs one could simulate how bad his delirium tremens. Ouch that is somewhat hurtful review..I will have to gift the bartenders mystic tan sessions for this post. I think this bar is awesome. It is fun to dance and the dj's are great. The dancing on Friday & Saturday starts at 10pm but it seems like people start to dance around 1130pm & by midnight the bar is packed. It is the only place I know of in the suburbs that's this much fun to dance. Everyone is super friendly & the bartenders all seem to go out of there way to make sure everyone gets quick service without waiting in lines. I had my birthday there last year and I called ahead and got tables reserved it's nice to have somewhere that's clean and safe to go and have a good time. (Bonus) parking is free. read more

Owner is frequently drunk and does not pay his employees which I've heard from numerous bar staff, and it looks real classy when he's treating his employees disrespectfully as well in front of patrons that has been seen with my own eyes. It's bad when your own employees don't like you, they just suck it up and stay for the money... and your bar manager is a nasty unpleasant women and some of the bartending staff is unpleasant as well. The food is mediocre and you definitely see other people getting treated with better service...probably the daily regulars. read more
