A weekend trip to Bloomington, IL, to visit family. I chose Eastland Suites because it is an independent hotel and I prefer to keep my business local when possible. We had a wonderful stay from check-in to check-out everything ran smoothly. We were upgraded to a king deluxe suite, which was clean and perfect for our needs. Upon entering we had a large living room with kitchen, a large bathroom which was separated from the bathtub and toilet, and very large bedroom. We even had a balcony which we enjoy sitting out on with a glass of wine. Also, each room comes with its own wi-fi router. What a great idea and much appreciated. The grounds are lovely with different courtyards. We also enjoyed the evening Happy Hour and breakfast. All in all, a great experience and we will definitely stay here again.

I would have given this place five stars had they not initially given us a room key to a room that was already occupied! WHOOPS. Luckily the poor chap wasn't there at that moment, but when we walked in and saw toiletries out and an open suitcase in the room, we slowly backed out (with our confused dog) and went back down to the front to get a room that was vacant and had already been turned. When we actually DID get a room all to ourselves, we were thrilled! It had a great set up, which has been hard to find with other extended stays we've tried, and a wonderful kitchen area. There was just enough stuff to cook and eat a decent meal. The grounds are pretty nice and green too. The bed wasn't extremely comfortable, but other than that and their faux paux at the beginning, this is a place I'd stay at again.

    Beautiful king suite

My visit here was for a company seminar. The room was very beautiful and spacious even though I didn't get to stay in it for too long since our seminar was 2 days long. Good internet and direct tv. The breakfast was cramped, no room to really sit. It was also in the "lobby" which is in an entirely different building from where I was staying. It's about two blocks away and sadly it's winter so it was cold to walk. It was also where the pool was, I didn't get to swim since I was too tired. Also I wasn't informed that if I kept my key card near my phone (which I have a wallet phone case) it demagnetizes the key card. The first night of staying it stopped working and I couldn't get into my room. Thankfully my boyfriend had his to get us in at 9:30pm. I called the front desk and they said I could get it switched. The second night it happened again! But this time my boyfriend wasn't around and I had to walk to the lobby two blocks away at 9:15pm to get it switched. This was when they told me about it getting magnetized. Overall a decent experience. But it's definitely not my first choice.

Great accommodations if you are in Bloomington. Close to the mall and many other restaurants.

Great accommodations; hot complimentary breakfast, happy hour 6 days a week in the evening, swimming pool (well kept), the building lay out isn't like standard cookie cutter chains, our king suite had a balcony overlooking an area full of birds. It was nice to sit out in the morning and drink coffee while watching/listening to them.

    Our gorgeous beautifully decorated room.

Review Visit: October 28th, 2012…read more A place that brings back wonderful childhood memories. As a kid, this place was a destination for field trips. I remember coming out here ones or twice and having the time of my life. I blame these field trips for fostering my love for nature and being outside. So, it was only fitting that I revisit Wildlife Nostalgic Park... I mean Wildlife Prairie Park. WPP for short, this place is a fantastic destination for anyone living in Central Illinois or really anywhere in Illinois. During this fall visit, it was my girlfriend and my friend. We casually strolled the main parts while sipping some delicious coffee. The park had changed so much from when I was a kid. There were a few things I remember, but they have since expanded or updated mostly everything. They have a pretty cool snake area that is slightly modeled like a... snake. We played around on some trains and took some goofy photos with those "face cut out" displays. The bulk of the park are the nature preserves with wild floral and fauna. You could spend all day slowly walking through the park, seeing wild cows, wolves, deer, humans, birds, and various other interesting animals. Not only can you visit and see nature, they also have cabins/camping areas to rent out. I haven't personally done this as my group of friends aren't big into camping, but I would love to check it out some day. The prices seem really fair for what you get. Last but not least, they hold events throughout the year. Check out their website for details but I've been to their Ren Faire (Olde English Festival) and it was a blast. They also have a wildly popular Wildlife Scary Park each year for October/Halloween. One of my friends has a membership for WPP and said she has tickets to ride the train. Should this rain ever subside, I think it's time to take her up on her offer to go visit! We only have one Earth. Please treat it with respect. Don't litter. Recycle. Leave nature places cleaner than when you arrived. Future generations will appreciate it.

Not only is the facility in a great downtown location (which was not that important to me) but the grounds are well kept, and upon further observation the surrounding neighborhood's yards are also very well kept. Plenty of parking when I arrived. The instructions that were sent via email are very detailed, not one thing was left out. Be aware that there is no live human being to check you in or out...think of it almost like an airbnb because you get a contactless check in with key code for the door. Arrive and Thrive Co is the company out of Cali that manages this property, they are super helpful and responsive via email but when I have tried to call them I haven't been able to reach a human being. James was the main contact who was very helpful during my two stays. He also recommended another property they manage (The Audrey apartments) which I also stayed at for one evening and was stellar overall. There is no food service at the rooms in the Pasfield House other than you can order 24 hours ahead of time via an app. If you are short on time, and don't know your way around, I highly recommend the avocado and toast breakfast. It was super convenient, I was staying two nights in the George and ordered breakfast for my second morning. The housekeeping staff put the box breakfast in my mini fridge the afternoon prior. For $14 it was a good deal, with two pieces of multigrain bread, avocado spread, 2 hard boiled eggs, an orange and juice. They also put out a toaster for me. There are two tiny ice machines on the second floor which comes in handy. The building was very quiet both times I stayed. The rooms especially the bathrooms are nicely kept and the bathrooms have been renovated. I liked the Hive because there was a trundle bed in the living room and a nice sized kitchen, plus a large master bedroom. Plenty of room for two people and very comfortable. Beautifully decorated living rooms and bedrooms, loved the history of the building. I was very pleased with my stays and I would highly recommend this to anyone staying in Springfield. Yes it is a bit more pricey than the standard chain hotels but it is worth it! SO CLEAN.

Now its just a confusing mess unless you are a local or live in the area. Man i can't imagine being from out of town and stopping in there. Besides being a motel that gets used by hunters during shotgun deer season and a few construction crews every now and again i don't know how it remains open . Let me sum it up... Go here if your looking for a rough crowd in the basement bar and like ordering your room from the bartender so every biker in there knows where your staying . I f you are somewhat sane and like places that actually have an office and check in area with someone to help you.. look elsewhere..!.. Princeton and Spring Valley both have better. My experience i came into a stairway with a hand written note that said ''This WAY TO HELL' with an arrow pointing down the stairs. Yes i continued downstairs to a small bar with about 6 bikers who all stared at first like who the hell is this guy? I ordered a beer sat down and waited for my buddy from Aurora who was on his way down to deer hunt with me and stay at this place. After 1 beer the old crazy biker lady 2 seats to my left slid her empty shot glass down to me .. i immediately slid it back , this went on 3 or 4 times until she stood up in a drunken rage and tried to get in my face when her husband grabbed her and apologized . No big deal but i cant imagine wanting to sit through that to get a room ,because that's how it was a few yrs back you get your room downstairs from the bartender. Can't imagine being from out of town , needing a room and going through all that ,or being a non-drinker or having kids and having to haul them to the bar for a dang motel room. What a complete joke!! and a bad one at that.
