I was looking to use this hotel as my home away from home during my 3 month work assignment. After staying there for a couple days last week, i will not be doing so. The rooms were nice but the maintenance was slow. I arrived the day of an ice storm. Checking in the parking lots were full sheets of ice, some.more than others. I stayed in building 9. I called the front desk 2x to inquire about getting the lot & sidewalks salted. I literally had to slide from my car to the door with luggage. I also watched a elderly man have to do the same. The lobby parking lot was so bad that i couldnt even pull in to parl my car because it was so icy, my car just kept sliding I understand the weather was bad, however it is a HUGE safety hazard to not even attempt to put down salt. Maintenance never came. On the day of checkout, the fire alarm went off in my room. There was no fire in my room so i called front desk to ask for maintenance to come by to shut it off because it wouldnt go off. 40mins went by & no one ever came (again), however when i stepped out of my room there was someone vacuuming in the hall & the housekeeper was a few doors down. So mucj for even checking to make sure things were okay. The biggest deal breaker was the false information, or bait switch that was done. I spoke with the Sales Rep, Sara, prior to my arrival to inquire about a discounted rate for travel nurses for 3-6nights for the next 14 weeks. She quoted me a rate less than $100 after taxes. When i called to book the rate for my future stays she gave me a rate totaling $122/night & stated that the other rate was for 30 day stays only. This was not the information that was given to me originally as i never inquired about 30days. I was quite disappointed in the fact that she changed the info she originally gave & the performance of maintenance. Bar service was good even though they closed an hr early almost every night. Also the guy at checkin was very unwelcoming, & short. He didn't do a good job of explaining how to use the drink tickets either or that you get a ticket every night. Due to this i missed out on some of my complimentary drinks. I mentioned several times that I was in town for work. Out of all the units they had they put me in the building where they were doing construction, which woke me up from my sleeps during the day. I work late nights so sleep in when I can. I'm not really sure why you would put someone that id there for business/work in a construction building, unless that was the last option. Thay didnt seem to be the case as the lot was pretty empty on all sides. Maybe in the future, if these things are resolved I'd return but for now I'll take my business elsewhere & will advise my colleagues to do the same. *stayed Jan '24* read more

When we checked in we were not informed about no daily service offered. I can make the bed but we had wet towels, no fresh coffee pods, no trash pickup, no clean cups. The shower curtain fell off so I had to stand on the edge of the tub to hang it back up. Almost fell. When we checked out I happened to see water bottles on the back counter so I asked who they were for. The clerk said they were ONLY for Wyndham members. So he looked at our account and said . . .oh you are. Do you want one? Do you remember how HOT it was? It would have been nice to be treated like we matter. We were NOT. . . . and by the way....even though the bottles in the shower say Crabtree and Evelyn. Anyone familiar with the brand knows that it is Dove in those bottles. Shame on you. read more

Enjoyed our stay at the Eastland Suites & Conference Center. Emory at the front desk was friendly & very accommodating. Really enjoyed the Deep End Tap for dinner & drinks. If it was an option I would give 3.5 stars... only going with 4 stars instead of 3 because of good staff. Pros: staff was pleasant, breakfast was well presented, onsite bar with free drink daily, the one bedroom suite is a decent size, plenty of parking and everything is nearby. Cons: if you're not on the top floor you will lose your mind with inconsiderate people above you, especially in the studio suites. We were initially in a studio, and asked to move to a one bedroom because it was too small. The worst part is there were 7 people in the studio room above us being ridiculously loud, and staff allowed it even though the max people allowed per room was clearly surpassed. Once we moved to the one bedroom suite it was better, but sometimes loud people would move in and it was stressful to have loud noises in the middle of the night. Additionally, the room keys would stop working every 2-3 days ( we stayed here for 3-4 weeks ) so we constantly had to go to the front desk to get the keys fixed. read more

At 9am without warning when i was in the shower two strange men banged on the door and when the door was opened by my wife the two of them came in without any explanation except they had to do some work. We thought we were being robbed. They just ignored us and started working. We were not prior warned by management. The food at the "restaurant" also sucked. Not an inexpensive place. We made room reservations 3 months ahead for Illinois Stlate University Family weekend. Eastland Suites staff called us to cancel our room as we were driving to hotel from Chicago 3 hours before check in due to "maintenance issues" and told us that they made accommodations for us at another hotel near by. After talking to other parents with reservations at same hotel that had the same issue of maintenance issues we thought something felt wrong. We asked the hotel staff at the hotel we were referred to and they confirmed that this is done to allow hotel sto fill rooms at a higher last minute rate. This is not right and we will not be staying at Eastland Suites in the future. read more

A weekend trip to Bloomington, IL, to visit family. I chose Eastland Suites because it is an independent hotel and I prefer to keep my business local when possible. We had a wonderful stay from check-in to check-out everything ran smoothly. We were upgraded to a king deluxe suite, which was clean and perfect for our needs. Upon entering we had a large living room with kitchen, a large bathroom which was separated from the bathtub and toilet, and very large bedroom. We even had a balcony which we enjoy sitting out on with a glass of wine. Also, each room comes with its own wi-fi router. What a great idea and much appreciated. The grounds are lovely with different courtyards. We also enjoyed the evening Happy Hour and breakfast. All in all, a great experience and we will definitely stay here again. read more

I just finished a four (4) day stay at this privately owned extended stay hotel. I have quite a few good things to say but also some not so good. So let's have a little fun and alternate the good with the bad. Good- The staff was uniformly amazing. Every person that "touched" me was friendly and competent. I was staying with a big group and numerous people said the same thing. Bad- This place has a Conference Center and the food served (buffet breakfast or lunch & break snacks) was mostly substandard. If you have been to meetings in other places, you will be disappointed. Good- My room was spotless and kept that way throughout my stay. I love clean and these folks did a great job. Bad- This hotel has no restaurant and no bar. In addition the area around it is mostly low end chain restaurants. Stuff like Applebee's and Olive Garden. If you are there for an extended stay and don't have a car you may shoot yourself! In fairness they do have a shuttle that will take you to more distant restaurants. However most experienced travelers know that this is many times a pain in the a**. Good- Very nice small pool. Bad- Meeting rooms are very very basic. I get the feeling that if you wanted to do more than PowerPoint it might be a problem. Good- This is one of those hotels that is many separate buildings on a nicely landscaped property. For my three nights my room was wonderfully quiet. These folks are a lower cost extended stay hotel. This was a three star experience for me. read more

We drove to Bloomington, Illinois for a Rickie Lee Jones concert. Could anything be bad about a trip like that??? Eastland Suites gave me nothing to complain about. There was more than enough room in the loft suite for the two couples. We weren't there long enough to use the kitchen or even watch TV, but the beds were comfortable and all shower necessities were provided. The grounds are well kept, though we looked out on the parking lot. That's just the luck of the draw. Breakfast was very typical for a hotel that provides a "hot" breakfast. They provided cheese omelets (think McOmelete) and sausage. The rest of the breakfast was just what one would expect - a waffle making machine, cereal, coffee, juice, small bagels, english muffins, toaster... you get the picture. If we ever had a need to stay in Bloomington, Il again for a night we would definitely stay here again. read more

I would have given this place five stars had they not initially given us a room key to a room that was already occupied! WHOOPS. Luckily the poor chap wasn't there at that moment, but when we walked in and saw toiletries out and an open suitcase in the room, we slowly backed out (with our confused dog) and went back down to the front to get a room that was vacant and had already been turned. When we actually DID get a room all to ourselves, we were thrilled! It had a great set up, which has been hard to find with other extended stays we've tried, and a wonderful kitchen area. There was just enough stuff to cook and eat a decent meal. The grounds are pretty nice and green too. The bed wasn't extremely comfortable, but other than that and their faux paux at the beginning, this is a place I'd stay at again. read more

My visit here was for a company seminar. The room was very beautiful and spacious even though I didn't get to stay in it for too long since our seminar was 2 days long. Good internet and direct tv. The breakfast was cramped, no room to really sit. It was also in the "lobby" which is in an entirely different building from where I was staying. It's about two blocks away and sadly it's winter so it was cold to walk. It was also where the pool was, I didn't get to swim since I was too tired. Also I wasn't informed that if I kept my key card near my phone (which I have a wallet phone case) it demagnetizes the key card. The first night of staying it stopped working and I couldn't get into my room. Thankfully my boyfriend had his to get us in at 9:30pm. I called the front desk and they said I could get it switched. The second night it happened again! But this time my boyfriend wasn't around and I had to walk to the lobby two blocks away at 9:15pm to get it switched. This was when they told me about it getting magnetized. Overall a decent experience. But it's definitely not my first choice. read more

There's something magical about this hotel! We spent last night there and when we arrived around 5:15 Pm, the super nice painting crew (working in 93, feels like 106 degree weather) politely apologized for blocking off the front entrance and directed us to the alternate entry. The front desk was staffed by three service oriented staff who quickly checked us in while we heard the awesome happy hour bartender Jonathan, mixing cocktails and running a raucous trivia game. Everyone there was having fun! It's infectious. You almost feel like you're on a mini land cruise. Cocktail hour is from 5-7 pm and each guest is eligible for 2 free drinks and Jonathan's entertainment, which he tailors to the crowd vibe. He made our 13 year old a fun Sprite with grenadine mocktail, which she enjoyed. We told him we were thinking about going to Anju Above for dinner. He later told us to check for something from him at the front desk. A generous gift certificate for Anju Above! This hotel stay just keeps getting better! Did someone say Christmas in July or is my fairy godmother residing at Eastland Suites? We thanked him and he said he thought we were a neat family. There was a group of seniors leaving happy hour, laughing and joking about feeling a bit tipsy and needing a ride to dinner. Boom- Eastland shuttle comes to the rescue. We enjoyed looking at the beautiful old homes on our way to Anju Above, which was hipster cool and had delicious food. Maybe it's a Bloomington thing but the staff there were also very welcoming and seemed passionate about the business. Check it out! I got up early and started the day right by working out in the small but adequate gym. The free breakfast bar had something for everyone and the ladies maintaining it kindly wished us a good day when we left- very sweet! Every staff member we encountered appeared to be happy, customer service oriented, and welcoming. Eastland, you are doing something right! Please expand your hotel empire! Even though the hotel is in the middle of a generic strip mall locale, the grounds are lovely. You feel like you're in a pretty condo resort. There's a beautiful outdoor patio outside the breakfast bar, with grill area. Our one bedroom suite was clean and spacious. If I have one piece of constructive criticism (which I hesitate to document because I really dig this place) it's that the building 9 hallway could be updated. It's got that old building scent in spite of being clean but once you get to your room, it's your home away from home. I stayed here on my way out west with my pup. Check-in was incredibly easy. I normally don't like hotels with the external room entrances, but it actually made it way easier to take my dog outside. The rooms were very clean and they were taking COVID seriously. There is a Starbucks walking distance away and a nice courtyard area where you can enjoy your morning coffee. read more

I spent a week in Bloomington on business and this is where they put me up. It's basically a long term stay hotel for business travelers. They have pool and a happy hour with free drinks on Monday thru Friday. Otherwise, no bar, restaurant or really any other amenities. Rooms are fairly clean and have a kitchen. It's really just a studio apartment you can rent while your in Bloomington. read more

My only complaint was that the limo driver at the airport didn't actually have a sign or anything on the car that identified him as being from Eastland Suites. So, he picked up another passenger on the same flight, and took them to the hotel, because they happened to just randomly ask if he was from Eastland Suites. I had to call the hotel, and wait an hour for him to drop off the first passenger, and then come back and get me. The rooms are nice enough, the meeting halls are pretty spacious, but I missed the convention's opening dinner and introductions because of the mix-up. That was a shame, because the dinner was supposedly great, but the lunches they catered through the week were awful - they were really just large snacks. The area ES is in is pretty lousy - there was a grocery store, a Chipotle and a Jimmy John's in walking distance, and some other strip malls. But, not really an attractive area. read more

Nice clean place. Free wi-fi is great. Free coffee and tea in room--thank you. Free breakfast--like Comfort Inn--but decent enough. Free happy hour 5:30-6:30 if you're able to make those hours (I wasn't over a 2-night stay). Extremely close to regional airport (Bloomington-Normal), 1.5 miles. No facilities for dining or room service or any service otherwise--good luck on food. There's nothing in eye distance except a KFC across the street. Buildings are spread out--it's like a lot of quad-plexes or townhouses, not like a hotel. You have to walk around parking areas to find your room. No help with any luggage if you need it. Front desk clerk tells me there are a lot of restaurants--but those are not in my walking distance at night in a town I'm completely unfamiliar with--as a female. There's a hotel shuttle from/to airport, but it wasn't available when I came in or out. Someone apparently called off, and only one person on duty 8PM in the whole place. Good for families or people travelling with cars, and those maybe staying longer. You need a car to stay here and benefit from it. Not good for someone who depends on hotel services. No security afterhours that I could see. When you arrive and leave well after dark, it feels safe, but there's nothing else there to protect you, except you hope it "is" safe. In general, I would not stay here again for the purposes of my own business travel , here or in another city. It would be okay if I were on vacation or staying a week or so and had a car. good buy. read more

This place is a complete joke!! I booked suites for my wedding party and the issues have not stopped a week after our stay. Everything was under my credit card and somehow they (after speaking with reception 3 times to use my card and even talking to reception when my stepdaughter was checking in) charged my stepdaughters card, refunded it then charged it again!! The bridal party checked in to a room that absolutely reeked of weed. My mother called the front desk and first was hung up on then when she called back management said "I guess we can spray". The manager came and sprayed the room but it just covered the smell for a couple hours. Having no other rooms available we were forced to stay the night and got ready the next morning. On my way to the church for our wedding I get a text from Madi asking to come pay our balance. After the reception we came back to the hotel to settle up and spoke about the weed smell that was unbearable again. We were told we would receive a credit and decided we couldn't stay the night there due to the smell- so we left at 11pm to our house for our wedding night. Now they are calling me while on my honeymoon asking for the balance when my husband and I have both asked 3 times for a final balance- the funny thing is the balance is the exact same amount as before we received a credit! How does that work?! By the way, the balance was already paid!!! On top of all of this, the rooms are so shitty and outdated. We are from Bloomington and have never stayed here but I never will again! read more

I threw a surprise party at this hotel for my husband last weekend and they were amazing! Holly at the customer service counter was so friendly! She even let me get my room earlier than the usual check in time so I could start setting everything up! When I got there they had me down for the wrong room and Holly fixed it right away for me! We had a great time, the room was immaculate, the beds were comfortable and they give you lots of pillows! HIGHLY recommend this hotel! The only down side for me was when I booked my reservation several months in advance the loft suite I originally wanted was not available. DO NOT RESERVE HERE UNLESS YOU'RE OK WITH GETTING BUMPED AT THE LAST MINUTE!!! I reserved three rooms for three nights (Thursday-Sunday) for late June back in January. The hotel called me on Tuesday to confirm. Then, they called me Wednesday night around 5pm to tell me that they were bumping my reservations. Their stories were all over the place... ridiculous! First, they said that I was one of the last 10 reservations made for that weekend and those were being canceled... which was a flat-out lie because I know for a fact that I was one of the first reservations made for that weekend and I also know that people who had reserved after me had not been canceled (one of which was my own relative). We were all in town for a convention and I guess the hotel didn't count on the fact that all their guests would basically know each other. Then, they told me that they had a large group of windmill farm workers that had been living there for about a year suddenly decide to stay another six months. Fishy??? Don't most companies that pay for hotels on a long-term basis rent the rooms on a monthly basis? If that's the case, then we shouldn't have been affected... the end of the month was still days away from my reservation. I left a voice mail on the general manager, Ray's, voice mail and explained to him that the reason I had reserved with their hotel was specifically because we needed the rooms with kitchens since we had two small children (an infant and a toddler) with us... so, of course, they had milk and food that required being refrigerated. About an hour later, I called back because I hadn't heard from him and was given his cell phone number so I left another voice mail message there. After having to call the hotel for three more hours to figure out what was going on because they weren't calling me back, I was finally told by the front desk that we were being sent to a hotel without kitchens 40 minutes away (this hotel was only 10 minutes from our convention location) and that the manager was going to call me Thursday morning. Well, don't be surprised... today is Tuesday and Ray still hasn't called. Talk about poor customer service!! Unfortunately, this hotel isn't owned by any particular chain (it's independent) so there isn't anyone to really complain to. I guess that's why the manager feels he can do whatever he wants and disrespect his clients in such a way. Keep in mind that this is an extended-stay type hotel (even though it's never mentioned to you when you make the reservation) and that the general policy of ANY of these is to boot you out if a guest that's already there decides they want to stay longer. If you don't want to deal with the inconvenience of being without a room at the last second, then don't reserve here to begin with. Not to mention... what kind of place can it possibly be if the manager doesn't care about the guests??? There is only one other Eastland Suites in Urbana. I called to ask if there was anyone else I could speak with and they told me that they aren't connected... there was nothing one could do about the other. Again, another reason that Ray appears to think he owns the place. Or... who knows? Maybe he does! But do we really want to be serviced by this type of person? I don't think so! I know I won't ever reserve here again and I'll be spreading the word as well. Reserving here is risky business! read more

Stayed here 3days 2nights and our stay was ok. The room has a small kitchen and a pull out couch that is not the most comfortable. The bed was not bad but the pillows was my only complaint. The pool is very small and is in the front of the place so you will have to walk or drive outside to get to it. When comes time for breakfast they O.J. machine was broken and the timer on the waffle maker as well. The have a small bar upstair and a gym but was not able to check it out. read more

Great hotel. We're staying here for a conference and the amenities are great. The rooms are spacious and all seem to have full kitchens. The room I'm staying in has a fireplace as well. The ambiance is awesome. There is a hot breakfast buffet every morning and complimentary cocktails from 5-7 every evening. It's located next to some great restaurants which you can walk to. My wife & I stayed here for an anniversary. We loved this property! After a rather lousy start to our day (and thinking that we'd never make it there), Jay at the Front Desk was courteous and friendly. We were given 5-star service and truly found this hotel well worth the over three-hour drive. We've decided that after 10 years of different hotel stays; Eastland Suites is definitely rated our fourth favorite hotel! (that list includes our honeymoon hotel in Las Vegas as a clear #1, of course) The other staff members were extremely accommodating, too. We were obviously tired, stressed and have mobility issues, but wanted to take advantage of the Happy Hour drink coupons given to us, however, given my mobility issues, we were unable to walk up the stairs in the main building. They not only hand-delivered my cane to our suite, but then walked over our beverages as well (with snacks, too)!! Like I stated before; 5-star service. We will return. read more

My parents stayed here during parents weekend this year while I was at ISU. I opted to put them up here rather than the new Marriot, b/c the Marriot's prices were insane. I wasn't about to pay $150 bucks a night in Bloomington- Normal, Chicago maybe, but not down here. I ended up getting this room for almost $100 after it was all said and done, and it was a very nice hotel to stay in. The room their were in had a kitchenette and had a very nice feel to it. The pool was nice as I could take my little sister there to hang out. Overall it had a very comfy feel to it, almost like a log cabin or something like that. Eastland Suites was a great place to accommodate a large number of guests who traveled far distances for our daughter's wedding earlier this month. Blocks of rooms were made available many months in advance at a variety of price ranges, shuttle service was offered to/from the reception, and the outside fire pit was a great hit for many for a couple of a nights in a row. Daily hot breakfast and happy hour beverages were appreciated, and lots of gathering spaces to catch up with friends and family. Front desk staff was prompt in following up with questions, and king suite room was large and comfortable for the price. read more

Stayed here by requirement not by choice. It is not a bad place but I would not have stayed here if I was choosing. Breakfast area is extremely small. Several restaurants are located within walking/short driving distance. There is also a hospital less than a mile away if needed. My biggest complaint is something over which the property has little control. In these lower cost extended stay properties with kitchenettes, there is always someone that has to cook something that stinks up the entire building. In this case, it smelled like liver and onions throughout the entire floor. Probably would rate this right in the middle at 2.5 stars. read more

We had our reception and housed our wedding guests at Eastland Suites. The rooms were beautiful, clean, and quiet! We had about 160 guests at our wedding. First of all, do the wedding package! We saved money compared to my sister's wedding (where they purchased catering, decor, lighting, and alcohol separately) and all our decor, food, drinks AND even the cake were handled expertly by Eastland. Cake in their wedding package is done by Janet's Cakes & Catering, and it was delicious! We delivered our centerpieces and special items (guestbook, family photos, gift/card table decorations) to Eastland the day before the wedding, and they did all the decorating. My husband and I were able to pick up our neatly boxed things the following Monday. I cannot stress enough how phenomenal this is. If you have ever tried to clean up after a reception drunk (or hungover the next day) you know how fantastic this is. If you haven't, take my word for it, this service is something you NEED on your wedding day. All the Eastland staff, Ashley Walter & Liz Coon in particular (our coordinators) were delightful to work with. They were flexible with us in planning a bar package that fit our budget but was also good for our guests. When we arrived after the ceremony, they had saved a plate of hors d'ouevres for us, had a vase ready for my bouquet, and immediately took our drink orders (hallelujah!).
