Old Oakland and Oakland Chinatown are just a few blocks away. Lots of small places to eat here, although most are closed during the weekend. You can tell this is a major lunch area during the week for businesses located here and the surrounding area. I think if they promoted this place a little better, it has the potential to be a very popular place, mostly because it is so aesthetically pleasing!!

They also have a good selection of dress shoes for men if you can find your size. The prices?? Well, they are decent, not as cheap as before, sometimes, you might be able to negotiate the price in some stores. Don't quote me on that though, if you know what I mean. I always see my folks in the jewelry section, so there's that. Located in East Oakland (Yeah, that's right), the larger parking lot is in the back, which I suggest since it's easier to get in and out of. Maybe it's me, but I've always liked coming here!!

It's also just a short walk to World Market, a nearby movie theater, and downtown Oakland. If you're driving, there's a convenient parking garage. What I love most is that you don't have to spend any money to enjoy yourself. You can sit under the trees, watch the boats, stretch out on the grass, listen to live music, and simply enjoy the waterfront. The square itself is pedestrian-friendly, so you can relax without traffic rushing by. Sundays are especially enjoyable with the farmers market and live performances. Today I'm listening to the talented musicians from the Oaktown Jazz Workshops, who also have a home right here in Jack London Square. Every now and then, you'll hear a train passing by, which somehow adds to the character of the place. I'm really going to miss The Plank. It was such a fun community gathering spot and a place where I often came just to unwind. Another bonus is the free shuttle from Alameda, which makes getting here easy and enjoyable. Whether you're looking for a meal, a movie, a waterfront stroll, or simply a peaceful no cost place to sit and recharge, Jack London Square is well worth a visit.

They are- Walgreens, Office Depot, Mattress Firm, and Starbucks. I sometimes stop here, but I have never been in the Mattress Firm. The most active tenant is probably the Walgreens. It has a drive-up Pharmacy window on the side of the building. The shopping center has lots of parking in front, on the sides, and small lot on the Walgreens side. At the rear of the building are the loading docks. The building has an overhang so people can have shelter from rain or sun. There's benches and landscaping is well kept. Overall, it's a well maintained shopping center. Located at Hesperian and West Winton, next to the Valero gas station. Free parking

Winton Plaza is that huge empty parking lot on the corner of West Winton Ave and Hesperian Blvd. It's very close to Southland Mall. It was once home to Toys 'R Us and Circuit City. I believe the current anchor store is DD Discounts, and maybe Chuck E Cheese is still hanging on. Honestly, there's nothing there, so there's no reason to stop. I drive by this plaza at least once a week because it's the main route to the Hayward Business Park. Hayward Airport is next door, and small planes fly overhead. Seems like a prime location, I'm not sure what should go there.
