Getting work done from another state could be a nightmare but Dan from Easton Memorials knows how to do it right. We buried my Mother in January and I met Dan "electronically" soon after I left the state. We discussed many options and the fact it was winter Dan was honest about the fact that this wouldn't be finished until April-May timeframe depending on the weather. Well my sister and I upped the difficulty by going back and forth over exactly what to engrave. Dan was patient and always gracious as we made our final decisions but also kept to his timeline and we were done by the second week in May. My expectations were high when I entered this establishment - the owner had just lost her sister of the same disease which had claimed my mother and I thought to myself "these people understand loss and how hard this process is." WRONG. When ordering the stone, I made it very clear I wanted to installed prior to the birth of my daughter. They assured me that it would be installed "well before my due date". As the date came closer, I kept checking in with the establishment. It turns out there was some sort of miscommunication between Easton Memorials and the cemetery and the foundation for the stone was never poured. As such, the cemetery was waiting until there were a few more installations so they could pour several stones at once. My due date was September 4th and the stone was finally installed on October 9th. Easton blamed the cemetery, the cemetery blamed Easton Memorials but the reality is that I paid Easton directly for the entire job (including the foundation) and interfacing with the cemetery was *their responsibility*. The stone is lovely, I will say that, but the customer service was horrible. This is unacceptable for an establishment that deals primarily with grieving people. read more
