Went to play an amazing escape room and unfortunately was greeted by the sickening smell of mold and mildew at the entrance of the mall. This made the game so unbearable. Loved the escape room, just wish I didn't have to endure breathing in mold to play. What are the plans to resolve that issue because I can see that hurting the businesses there. read more

Very little stores. Nasty bathrooms. Escalators closed. Stairs closed. Moved everyone upstairs. Food places closed. No name brand stores. Had to go around to get into the mall at all. This mall is on its last legs but it's great, if you want to see something that looks out of an apocalypse movie while getting good deals on clothing give this place a stop! I would be shocked if this place remains open for another decade but nevertheless visit while you can. read more

When arriving at the mall for the first time we were not sure how far it would be to get a wheelchair for my Mom. She can't walk far without having something to hold on to. I do wish Malls had Carts especially when you buy so much to carry around without going back to the car. The entrance we went in it was pretty far and it's located in the security office. You just leave your license to get one. I was so shocked at how many stores are closed. It's sad to see Malls are dying and stores can't survive during covid or a slow economy. The big Anchor stores that use to be there are now discount merchandise stores,two big ones and a Belk. Still some smaller old favorite stores like spencers and clair's still here. They have a play area for kids and a area set up for Santa even though I didn't see him. For being so close to Christmas I was surprised it wasn't busier. The food court now consists of maybe 5 or 6 places and only like 3 were open for business. Will definitely go back for the 2 big Discount Stores they had a lot of items marked down from Regular Prices. When returning the Wheelchair there is a sign on the door with the phone number to call . The security guy was friendly and even walked us to the only door that was unlocked that they don't lock when the mall closes. He even allowed us to leave the store with a cart (they are not supposed to leave the store.) Since it was full of bags!!! I don't know how you would carry everything otherwise. You have to feel for malls. They used to be the spot to go and hangout, maybe even perform a little retail therapy. But those days are past and the Eastridge Mall shows it. Lots of one-off shops that you don't see elsewhere and I feel bad for people that have stuck their life savings into opening a retail outlet. Good luck to y'all. This mall was great in the 1980's. It was safe, full of paying customers , and great stores. It also had a movie theatre and 3rd floor food court. It didn't take long for the 3rd level to close and the whole mall started quickly running downhill fast. This mall is now simply put, scary and a dump. The NCDMV tag office is located here and the service is horrible. The only business the no name food court cubes and no name stores get is from all the people waiting for their number to get called by the DMV....over 90 minutes later. They should tear this place down turn it into a maze for depressed people to walk through. Im so depressed I am about to jump from the 2nd floor. read more

Dying mall at its worst. Most stores are closed and the ones open dont have much to offer. The jewelry stores seem either scared to fill their cases or don't have stock. Dillard's is a legit discount store with racks based entirely on size. No displays or things you'd expect from Dillard's. Feels more like an indoor yard sale. Belks was ok and also seemed to be the only store actively running their AC system. It was sweltering inside. My poor toddlers head and back was wet in his stroller from sweating. We left. Not only does it smell like a hipsters armpit, "security" seems to be only 2 elderly individuals who couldn't care less. The AC is NEVER on, and it's 80+ degrees on a daily basis. I've seen employees in multiple stores wearing shorts and tank tops on days where it's below 40 out. The number of homeless people rummaging through the dumpsters outside is almost double the number of customers in the mall. It's a miracle this mall is still open, as it's clear they don't have anyone in mall administration who gives a sh*t about the shoppers and retail workers. read more

The mall is on its last legs. I was there at noon on a Friday about 80% of the stores were either vacant or not open. Belk is the only real, decent store left. The outlet stores are a mess- escalators constantly broken, worn and unsightly decor, elevators with ceiling torn out and scuffed walls. Large areas roped off with homemade signs everywhere. It looks like a third world country. Half the lights off in some stores - I guess they are not making enough to pay the electric bills. It's only a matter of time. The mall that time forgot... literally. There are quite a few anchor stores here that make it perfect for the quick pair of jeans or a Belk. But like the town of Gastonia, the mall has suffered most of its allure. In it's day, this mall would have been the place to go to get everything you need. Today, it's the perfect place to find a suit suitable for a pimp. The mall is fantastic for the smaller chains like Hollister, AE and Aeropostale. The fact that they help raise money for local Gaston County schools is an even bigger reason to send some of your business their way. Food court includes a Chick-Fil-A, Subway, an obscure Italian place I've never heard of, Big Easy, and the predictable Asian fast food. The mall is surprising clean... although I can't always say the same thing for the people that shop here. If in a pinch and don't want to drive to Charlotte, then consider this an OK option. read more

Basic mall stores nothing to run home and tell your mom about but if you live in the area and don't want to drive to Charlotte then it serves it's purpose. I try to go directly to the stores I want to be in. There is A LOT of loitering by obnoxiously loud teens who I think come up for Journey stickers. There are also a lot of "crack head" looking folks at this mall. In and around the front. I don't go during the evening for this reason. Its not my cup of tea so I get in and out. It's a sad shell of a mall, plenty of empty spaces, and even the anchor stores are depressing compared to their Charlotte locations. They do have American Eagle, Claire's, Journeys, Great American Cookie, and a pretzel store. So that's covered. The food court has about 5 options... subway, chickfila, mall chinese, mall japanese, name doesn't actually describe what they sell very well but they cover your grease needs. The movie theater seems to be long gone (but they left you a ticket window or two to remember the good ol' days) and there's mini golf on the third floor. The massive shoe store I went into only kept one shoe in the box and had no salespeople in sight... probably why they needed to implement the one shoe loss prevention measures. So, we moved on. They actually have a Spencers gift as well, which might be the first one I've seen in almost a decade. I now know they've ditched the key chains and poster walls and have become more of a hot topic. So, thank you Eastridge for that. I have no reason to come return here, but then again I had no reason to go in the first place. So, curiosity might bring me back there for a round of lunar golf and some more epic people watching. We'll see. read more

This mall has really gone down hill over the past few years. Gap, Forever 21, Gamestop, and the toy store downstairs have all moved out. If I plan on buying alot I go to Northlake, but sometimes I stop by this mall out of convenience. There are alot of random stores at this mall that I have never heard of, mostly selling really cheap looking clothing. If I shop here I usually go to Dillards or American Eagle. I have also seen more security the past few times I have been here. I don't feel like this mall is as safe as it once was. About a year ago I saw a terrible fight next to Claires and Hatworld. It took a few minutes for the security guards to get to the fight due to TONS of people surrounding and cheering it on. CRAZYYY... Just another dying mall in Gastonia. read more

Eastridge has changed quite a bit since I've lived in Gastonia. The 1st change was the 3rd floor being closed down for renovations, which is still underway, & closing the movie theater. Next came the purchase by Westfield, turning it into a "shoppingtown," which I have no idea what that means. But today, it's still the biggest & now only mall in Gastonia, so it's always busy. They have lots & lots of stores, & a variety much like any other mall across the region. There are a lot of "high school" clothing stores, such as American Eagle & Hollister. They also have your typical shoe stores, along with a couple of sports stores. Also, the food court could use a little help, with only about 4-5 options. Nothing is really special about this mall, other than having some stores you can't find anywhere else in Gaston County. It's usually quite packed, but nothing like a South Park crowd. The stores here are more in line with middle class prices, so don't expect any pricey tenants. So nothing special, but not too bad. read more

Let's be honest, malls like these are slowing going out of business. No one wants to shop at places like this anymore. Everything is online, or outlet stores. Twenty years ago this mall was amazing, but times have changed. They still have some of the large stores that some are familiar with: Victoria's Secret, Bath & Body Works, Children's Place, etc...but there are also a lot of independent stores that I don't think everyone would visit. The food court is a dying mess, short for Renaldo's Culinary Experience. I went to lunch the other day and that was the only place that had a line. A pretty long line in fact. The food looked amazing and I have a feeling most of the people in line just showed up for the food. If I hadn't been running short for time I would have ordered food from there. Parking is more than abundant at the mall so don't worry about a lot of walking. They do have a small play area for kids if you need to sit down and keep them busy for a little bit. They also have an area for new moms if you need to nurse or have some quiet time. read more

Eastridge mall is truly an architectural masterpiece. With a 90's remodeled lower floor, and a 70's top. I am upset for one reason: the third floor. This mall along with Rock Hill Galleria are probably the two most useless malls in the whole Charlotte metro area. The only good thing here is the food court. Other than that, not worth your time unless you live nearby. Go to the malls in Charlotte if you like to get some serious shopping done. read more

It has the standard Carolinas mall anchors, Belk, Dillard's, JCPenney and Sears, plus some mid-tier stores in the mall interior, and a Chick-fil-A and a few other standard food court places. It seems to have kind of a low-income clientele but it works for standard mall shopping. read more

This mall appears to be barely hanging on. Where are the stores? I know everything is online these days but personally I still appreciate being able to try things on before buying them and it's my belief that there's a huge opportunity for the stores to work on their visual merchandising as well as coupons/deals in order to draw in more customers. read more

I went into the mall for the first time in over 6 months the other day. It just does not appeal to me at all. I would rather drive into Charlotte. I guess if I was a size 2 and a teenager I could find all types of clothes but being that I am not, unless I go into a major department store, it is kind of pointless for me to go. And dear God, as someone with asthma I can't stand to be in there more than 10 minutes. Between the perfume station and Hollister and Bath and Body Works, I can't handle it. read more

I visited this mall a few days before Christmas. The parking lot was full but not many people were buying things.when this mall first opened it was THE place to be. It had a terrific bakery (that I wish I could find one like now!) that made fresh cinnamon rolls that smelled the place wonderfully. The third floor was the food court with. Sals pizza, Orange Julius and chick fila. Now there is just a indoor golf on the third floor, chick fila and sals have gone too. As has the movie theater and now Sears. Sears and chick fila were two original tenets. Clair's and bells are still there and the biggest reason to go. I feel the mall concept has gone into history, maybe they will tear the building down soon and put in a strip mall that you can go to and get the items you want and leave without walking forever. SO sad. A big negative is the no cancelled weapons policy. Adults must have a way to protect themselves in this type of setting, also the no teenagers without a parent has definitely hurt this mall as the teenagers have all of the disposable money, they are the ones that made this place continue to grow in the past, bad decision to ban them, read more
