As someone who has been to three treatment centers, Newport has been the most beneficial and influential in my treatment journey. I have spent my life struggling with depression, anxiety, substance use, and family issues. Following their program was certainly difficult but it was necessary. Newport does it completely different to anywhere else I have been. They have a "stage system" where you are rewarded for participation and work ethic. As you complete more of their self discovery work you move up in the stages. The discovery work was life changing. I learned who I was, what patterns I have been subject to, what I loved doing, and how I got to be where I was. This introspectiveness made me feel in control and capable of change. We did family therapy where I learned to be honest with my family and my family learned to accept and be honest with me. Individual therapy was wonderful. I further analyzed patterns and learned to break up my ruminating and negative thought spirals. In group therapy I learned to connect with my peers on a level I never thought I was capable of. I learned to use coping skills, take breaks, spend my time effectively, and fall back in love with my hobbies. The staff were all incredible. Everyone was supportive, kind, trustworthy, and professional. I learned a lot from my care coordinators and I could not have gotten through the program without them. Newport is very involved even after I have left treatment. I have access to my treatment team and my fellow alumni every week (so do my parents!, Newport is very family oriented). I have not had this level of support anywhere except Newport. I truly believe they do it right and I could not be where I am today (content, happy, loving myself, well rounded, and in supportive relationships) without their help. Newport Academy in Kirkland was a huge blessing. My daughter spent almost 90 days here. Prior to that, over the course of 8 months, she had 5 different hospital admissions and countless ER visits. She had horrible anxiety, depression, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts. Was she 100% better when she got home? No. But she was given the tools and skills to combat her problems and emotions. She has been home almost a year and is doing amazing. She has had no hospital admissions and is 7 months self harm free and able to manage her anxiety and emotions. As a parent, I truly felt supported. From family therapy to Zoom visits to parent support groups to education opportunities and post discharge check-ins, as well as weekly progress reports from the education departments. There was always support and communication. The family therapist was amazing and didn't shy away from having the hard conversations that needed to happen. It gave me as a single parent the tools to understand my daughter better and how to work on healing our relationship. All of the staff was helpful and easy to reach. Sending my daughter away and putting my trust into these caregivers was one of the hardest things that I have ever had to do, and I don't regret it for one second. She is a much healthier, happier person. I appreciate the staff more than words can express because I know that she was very difficult at times. Things were not easy for her as she worked through her issues, but I put my trust in them, and they worked diligently with her. Mental health is extremely hard to treat as nobody falls into the same box. Things at Newport may not always go according to plans, but one thing I can say is that the staff worked hard to ensure her safety and responded kindly to her when she struggled. Hi! I went to Newport summer of 2023. When going there I didn't know everything to expect. I was nervous, but when I got there every staff I met was so positive and kind. There were new staff along the way I was there too. And it is clear they make sure to pick people that fit the job. Most of the care coordinators there, that stay with all the kids and help us, are so funny and I have so many good memories from them. There were ups and downs being there because I was struggling and working on my mental health. I was frustrated with myself because I was not good in my mind. But they provide therapists, counselors, nutritionist, art, classes, and so much more. As time went on I eased into the place more and it really became my home, literally. Overall I am glad for the help I got and for the kids and adults I met there. It has been about a year and I still keep in contact and think about the people there. They do different types of therapy, art, music, gardening, going into the outside world called outings, and more. There are so many wonderful and welcoming people to help you settle in. There are some strict rules but for your own safety reasons. Lots of papers will be filled out the first couple of days, but then you will be free to have fun! All the staff make sure that you feel safe and kinda make it feel like home. You really get treated like family, and everyone knows everyone. The nurses help you with any of your special needs. Everything will get taken care of. You'll get a call to your friends or family every day. You'll have school for 4 hours when the school year starts. But 2 hours when summer starts on the weekdays. But you have the weekdays to do fun stuff. It's really fun! It's not as bad as it sounds. If you plan on going, it can be rough for a couple of weeks, but then you'll get used to it, and the other clients can help you get through it. Everyone is very loving. read more

Newport Academy saved my life. The staff and clinical team truly do care about you, and do everything in their power to keep you safe and happy. Not every CC is perfect, but they do care. My clinical team was so helpful, and my flashbacks and nightmares reduced almost to zero. Some of the rules seem over the top, but sometimes you have to compromise some things in return for the help you need. The clients during my stay are family to me. They supported me through everything. Most people can say they met amazing people/ clients during their stay. School was amazing. My teacher Annaleigh was seriously an angel. She explained things to me that I thought would never make sense. I was previously failing school, and when I came to newport I started to get straight A's. When our 14 year daughter finally got placement, we were concerned about the reviews of the Kirkland location. We asked staff why is this, and they weren't sure, but said maybe we would have a different experience. I am excited to say that we had an amazing experience with the Kirkland location. Our daughter had been suffering from severe depression and two suicide attempts front Oct 2020 to Feb 2021. We were desperate to find a place that could really help our daughter. We found nothing locally (from Missouri). This place has given our whole family the starting foundation to build from. They focus on the family, not just the individual. Sure there may be staff turnover issues, but nothing like what the other reviews were saying. Our family therapist there Laura was truly a godsend. Communication was above and beyond. from age 12 i have struggled with my mental health, for years on i struggled being in and out of short term hospital's outpatient programs, inpatient programs and some long term programs. i had the same results from almost every facility: sent home doing better(ish), come back later to the psych ER feeling 10x worse. I went to Newport Kirkland facility twice and both times were super different because I went when it first opened, then again almost two years later and one thing that I say has not changed has been the therapy aspect. Each time I went I got the best clinical team that really helped me and listened to me, the groups are super structured and the staff (for the most part) are super nice and chill. They have such good residential supervisors which listen to your needs and suggestions so well. Even if you don't agree with a decision that's been made you will constantly have someone who will sit with you to process everything. I got so many skills and gained a lot of friendships. It also doesn't seem like you're fully trapped with just therapy because you have time to socialize with your peers, play games like just dance and have parties on special occasions. Newport was the best decision we could've ever made to help our 15 year old daughter with her self harm problems. It's the hardest thing to go through and Newport changed her life and ours also! She is back to being a loving affectionate teen and the support for parents is something so amazing I don't know what I would have done without it. She was there 2 months and she loved her roommates and the staff, the therapists and especially the doctors. My name is Sirina, and before coming to newport I was a mess, I wasn't mentally okay, I had my addictions, but after i got discharged I realized that I a lot more from Newport than I had realized. I realized that what i took was, accountability, different tools to help me in times of need, and a view on the real world and what I wanted to see around me. It's really hard at first, but eventually you realize that you are getting help, and it's not going to happen overnight. Workers there are going give you the tools you need, but you also gotta do the other half which is "want the help". I was at Newport Academy for 2 months after a crisis and had a really powerful experience. I had a great clinical team that helped me heal and grow as a person. All the staff were super positive, professional, engaging, and invested in the program. The food was good and therapy groups were fun and helpful. Living there I learned so many new skills and my mental health improved a lot. Going through the program had lasting effects and since having discharged, I have been a happier, more stable, and more productive person. I was at Newport for 7 weeks and it was one of the best experiences I ever had. The structure is amazing as it puts you in a good routine and I got to do a bunch of things I thought I never would have done before. I made friends and learned new things about myself. The staff and CCs are all very nice and caring. I recommend this place to any teen who is struggling. I was at Newport Academy for just under 3 months. At the time of admission I was thinking that the world would be better with out me in it. I would say this facility truly saved me life.
