When my wife and I purchased our home, one of its surprises was a hot tub that had clearly not been maintained since the sellers placed the house on the market, if not earlier. After getting no response from a couple and a long runaround from a third company that repeatedly promised to call back soon with an appointment date and then canceled appointments at the last minute, I reached out to Eastside Hot Tub. They were immediately responsive and quickly worked us into their schedule. The person who made our service call was astonishingly unperturbed by the state of our hot tub and fixed it for us for a startlingly low fee. This was the first hot tub my wife and I have owned or been responsible for maintaining, so I also had a lot of questions regarding maintenance, which he happily answered. This experience took place four months ago now and I have had zero problems with the hot tub ever since; I have just been following his recommendations and instructions for maintenance and everything has been great. Our hot tub cover was also badly deteriorated and was retaining water and bacterial growth. First time using, and experience was absolutely excellent! Ryan returned my call promptly and asked a lot of questions to help diagnose what we had going on with our 16-year-old Cal Spas hot tub. Then, Anthony and Harris came out just as scheduled, right on time. I was impressed from the moment I opened our front door to them. They were courteous, friendly, and unusually well-spoken. They explained what they were going to do, and clearly narrated what actions they were taking as they examined and worked on our hot tub. They worked well as a team, sharing information and observations back and forth. They offered the least-expensive fix first, and gave me clear options for next steps. The solution they came up with (tightening the pump face plate and adding Fix-a-Leak) seems to have solved the problem 100%, as of one week later. I elected to do my own cleanout and refill after their visit; they would have done so with a follow-up visit, but they didn't push me in that direction. Overall, we received superior customer service, and the price was reasonable. I was referred to Eastside Hot Tub by the Seattle Hot Tub company when I called about service and maintenance options. I'm not sure which Field Technician I spoke with, but he was VERY knowledgeable, professional and patient with my basic (and probably annoying, as I know NOTHING about spa chemicals) questions. Since I wasn't even a client yet, this was a strong indicator that these folks not only know their stuff, but they also know how to treat their clients - even potential ones. I'm going to be needing an appointment to check out the pump, and control systems of a hot tub that a friend of mine gave to us (it was in a new home they bought, and the 2-3 person spa was too small for their needs). There is no question that I'll be calling Eastside to handle the situation. When a company goes out of their way to accommodate a potential customer - before they've even spent a dime - I think that I can be sure that they'll take good care of my spa system for me when I'm (happily) paying them for their knowledge and skill. These guys rock! I called late in the day on Tuesday and left a message. Ryan returned my call Wednesday morning and we set an appt for 2-4 pm the following day. He showed up promptly at 2:00 pm, made the necessary repairs to my hot tub, filled it up and called me when it was done to get my payment information. I didn't even have to be home and it wasn't necessary to leave a blank check with my house mate! The repairs cost a bit more than originally estimated but not unreasonably so (there was a broken pressure switch we didn't know about), and the service was prompt and professional. This was a big difference from the Apollo Spa people in Tukwila I called last time, who gave me a service window of 9-5, required someone to be there ALL DAY waiting and then never even showed up! They also charge $90 an hour and have a two -hour minimum plus mileage. Ryan at Eastside only charges $80/hr with a 1 hr minimum and no mileage charge. We contacted Eastside Hot Tub for a basic cleaning on our hot tub. I called Eastside for a quote on the cleaning, in which I was quoted $250. The serviceman that came out was great- very friendly and knowledgeable. He poured some chemicals in the tub and said those needed to sit for a week and he would be back in a week to finish the cleaning- offered no further info than that. He came back a week later, drained the tub and cleaned it, and refilled. We did purchase a starter pack of chemicals from the company which I figured were probably upcharged but since it was our first time getting them we figured it was easier to get them vs shopping around for cheaper prices (but FYI, all of the exact same products can be found on Amazon and would have saved us $150 getting them off Amazon). When the serviceman was completed I asked if he had a bill and he said Ryan (the manager or owner whom I had been dealing with) would call me to get my credit card. Ryan called to get my credit card info and never even told me a total amount or gave me a detailed receipt- I had to ask for the final bill and was astounded when he said it was $723...as we still had not received a receipt my husband then called him and asked him to break the bill down. Apparantly the first time the serviceman came out to pour a chemical in the tub that was a separate charge, along with both services adding on a hefty additional charge for "labor." The first time out he was here for 10 minutes max, the second time he was here for about an hour. These are all fine if that is what they charge, but extremely misleading when my quote was $250 and nothing else was mentioned along the way that labor is an additional charge and that the first visit was not part of the cleaning quote- this is my first time owning a hot tub and how would I know that was something different without it being explained to me? When my husband was trying to explain this to Ryan he became extremely rude, unprofessional, and unable to have a conversation about why we were frustrated. He did end up refunding us the charge for the initial visit (which we never actually asked for or even needed, we really were just looking for him to understand he needs to explain his pricing and let people know when additional charges are adding up- but the refund was appreciated). I wish that's where our contact with this company ended but unfortunately after our tub was cleaned and refilled the water would not get hot. We had had zero issue with that before, and literally the second the hot tub was cleaned the water would not warm back up. It was very clearly related in timing to the tub just being cleaned. I was absolutely dreading calling Ryan back to talk to him about this issue, but had hopes that he could remain professional. Not the case. I tried to explain to him that we had never had a heating issue and talk out if something possibly could have happened during the cleaning- he wouldn't hear of it. He just kept saying nothing could have happened and the wiring or heater must have gone bad- he very clearly did not want to talk to me or "deal" with me as a customer. He accused me of trying to get something else "free" from him and said he couldn't warranty the entire hot tube just because they cleaned it. Absolutely not looking for a freebie, but again just wanted to have a conversation about things that could have happened. Ryan kept pushing to get me off the phone, saying I needed a service call to come out and fix the heater but they were now completely booked up so he recommended I go with a different company. Literally the worst professionalism I have encountered in a really long time. He was completely rude, condescending, and unhelpful. I ended up calling a different company and they knew exactly what the problem was as soon as I described it, walked me through how to fix it on the phone, and didn't charge me a thing. Found Ryan and EHT on CL in Nov/Dec. Stopped in a couple times and he was easy to deal with and let me and my wife/kids look at every tub while he answered all kinds of questions. After a couple visits we found the tub we wanted and bought it. Great deal on a 4 year old Clearwater tub that looked like new! It was 1/3 the price of a new one. The delivery was great, even though I gave them inaccurate information about an overhanging beam and the tub had to be stored in my garage for a couple weeks. Nelson came out a second time and completed the delivery for free. After it was installed and running for 3 weeks, I noticed a leak. Ryan came out and did the repair for free...very responsive. Four months later, I had another minor leak around the light assembly. Ryan came out again and diagnosed it for free, provided the part for free and installed it for a single reasonable service charge. The tub was clearly out of their warranty and Ryan provided this repair option without any negotiating from me. You cannot ask for much more than that ! Not too often that you run into this kind of service these days.....Ryan did everything he said he would do and more. I would recommend EHT to anyone. read more

I just bought my first used hot tub from Eastside Hot Tub and have been completely happy with the service and quality I've received so far. The "showroom" isn't glamorous, but Ryan is very easy to deal with, Nelson delivered the hot tub very quickly and efficiently, everything works perfectly and the price was less than half what I would have paid for a new spa. Even the electrician they recommended (Forte Electric) charged a very reasonable flat fee for the install. I have an old hot tub. It would not operate due to an air lock as it turned out. The guy released the air lock, gave it the once over, and declared it good to go. One of the o-rings was busted leading to a small leak. He declared he did not have one on him (I thought this was what he did for a living...) and that he would send one by mail. Of course it never arrived. That visit cost me $90. Next day the water was still ice cold. I had to call him a couple of times until he came out again and replaced a small electrical component. This cost me another $90. When he was done the tub would not turn on and started blowing fuses. He explained the old pumps often are quirky, and that I should replace the pump (for $500+), or better yet, get a new spa pack for $1300. Yeah, right. I declined, switched the pump to the high setting and it has been working fine for weeks now. Save your money. read more

I was looking for a hot tub and found one offered on Craigslist by Eastside Hot Tub that sounded good. I liked that they were offering a 30 day warranty. I looked on Yelp and found that they had some glowing reviews so I gave them a call and set up an appointment. When I arrived I had to complete for attention with another family. I looked over the spa and when I had questions I did get them answered when I asked. The spa looked pretty good but the roto massage didn't work. The owner told me these never work so that was that. The deal breaker was that I saw a lot of saw dust at the base of the tub. I have seen this before and it meant moisture ants were busy eating away at the wood. I told the owner about it and he looked and agreed. I figured he would take it off of Craigslist, drastically reduce the price or something honorable. Not! The ad is still up and has been renewed at the same price. I think someone is going to get fleeced. read more
