Both of our boys were under Dr. Liu's care from pre-school until high school, & they were both actually sad to stop seeing him! I really love this place and my kids have been patients since 2005 through their college years (which I appreciate they will accept them to stay while they are college students). They have provided excellent care and honor our requests when our consciences do not fully align (for example, if they recommend an x ray but we prefer to wait, they will say you can wait and do this next time also we are not fans of fluoride and they never try to coerce us like a lot of other places might). I can't say enough how much I appreciate their posture which feels they are partnering with us. Parents are welcome to go back to area where children receive care. Very honoring and respectful of the parent-child relationship. I always ask a million questions and like to learn options on things and I always feel my questions are answered with respect and kindness. We have seen all the dentists here. They are all fabulous and very knowledgeable and I would say honest in their care. They are proactive when they need to be and conservative in their approach otherwise. read more

WOW - super impressed and SO happy we found this dentist for our daughter! We have a little girl who will be 4 in less than two months - she's had a full set of teeth for a while, but this past Friday was her first trip to the dentist. We feel like terrible parents that it took us SO long to get her to the dentist, especially b/c it looked like she might have cavities in two of her very back teeth - which made us even more scared that her first appointment might be a "bad" one. First thought in my mind when we into the practice when we opened the door - PHEW! A beautiful, clean, kid-friendly place with super friendly smiling staff all around. They have a very nice waiting area with a little "cove" filled with toys, dolls, a TV playing a Tinkerbell movie (one of my daughter's favorites) - very nice. When Heather (I think that was her name) came out for our daughter's appt - instantly Sammie was scared and didn't even want to say "hi" to her. So Heather handled it perfectly. She got down on her knees to Sammie's level and started talking about silly stuff in the sweetest voice. Sammie instantly warmed up and we got her back. Before Heather started, she told us that since it was Sammie's first time, she'd take it at her speed, and if at any time Sammie decided the appointment was over, that we'd stop. The last thing they want to do was make Sammie associate the dentist with a negative experience. My husband and I got to sit on a bench by the exam chair and watch how Heather worked her magic to get Sammie comfortable. She invited her to sit on the magic chair. She got out stuffed animals with big plastic teeth and a giant toothbrush and let Sammie brush its teeth. Then she talked about how she's lucky b/c she gets to wear a "Costume" to work - from her blue "scrubs", to her purple mask, to her clear glasses and blue latex gloves. It was a clever way to make sure Sammie wasn't scared by all the "doctor" stuff. Then she took each instrument one by one and showed it to Sammie and even let Sammie hold them! They got to squirt the water - play with the saliva-sucker, hold the tiny mirror, spin the rotary tooth cleaner on her finger for a tickle and feel on her fingers that the scraper wasn't sharp. Heather said she wanted to check her mouth for "Sugar bugs" - she took the scraper and scraped some teeth then showed it to Sammie - explaining how important it is for Sammie to let mommy and daddy brush her teeth twice a day to get those sugar bugs of her teeth, etc... It was AWESOME! Then she gave us some really good tips and hints for successful tooth-brushing sessions. We also got toothbrushes and even more importantly, special toothpaste with a measured tiny dose of fluoride in each pump. Enough to help her teeth, but not enough to be dangerous if swallowed. We didn't get all the way through the cleaning. Once she tried the rotary tooth cleaner - Sammie was done pretty quickly. We tried a couple more times, but it was definitely over. But still a HUGE success. Dr. Lombardi came back to check her teeth and the suspected cavities and confirmed she had them. She talked with us about all the options to remove the cavities and we feel really good about the one we decided on. This is a FABULOUS practice and I HIGHLY recommend it for anyone with kiddos. read more

I totally agree with Mary M (above). I heard about this practice years and years ago, when I was pregnant with my first. My co-workers at the time told me that this was the ONLY place they'd bring thier kids (and most of them lived all the way north in Snohomish!). I started bringing my firstborn to Dr. Lombardi when my kid was a toddler, and my kid, to this day, LOVES going to the dentist - and it's all because of Dr. Lombardi and this terrific, fun, early introduction to her and this practice! Even through various dental procedures, including extractions, both my kids just adore going here. (They don't even mind the more invasive procedures at all, which boggles my mind. I grew up with a real phobia of dentists and had some horrid experiences when I was young. How I wish I had dentists like those here...). There's a fun, engaging waiting room, with lots of toys, games and a movie theater room (usually playing Disney animated movies). There's coffee and tea for the adults. The dentists will give the younger set "rides" on the dentist chairs, so the kids associate coming here with a pleasant time, and so they aren't fearful of these chairs which go up and down and recline. The dentists have masks they wear in animal motifs, and have huge stuffed animals with teeth, so as to demonstrate proper brushing techniques with tools the kids can relate to (there are big toothbrushes to use on these stuffed, toothy animals!). Kids can choose any flavor of paste to brush with (and there is a HUGE assortment!). For extractions and such, there are more private rooms. The kids can choose nitrous gas from a variety of kiddie scents (who knew?!). My kids never were even aware that they got injections; that's how good Dr. Lombardi is. There are colorful boxes the kids can choose from, in which to keep their extracted teeth. We were referred to an excellent pediatric orthodontist and an excellent pediatric endodontist (my eldest had some "special" dental issues to address), so we now have total trust in the specialists Dr. Lombardi consults with and may recommend to us. We've also seen Dr. Quinby and Lui here, and they, too, were wonderful with my children. Honestly, I can't say enough about this practice! It's a 40-minute drive from my house, but it is SO worth it. (Plus, we pass Krispy Kreme on the way. Bonus!). read more

We've been here since my children were a year old. Everyone here is kind, understanding, and wonderful with children. I should've done a review long ago because they are just fabulous. But I chose to review today because my daughter is having two cavities filled. To say she was scared, was an understatement. She was in tears from the minute we walked in. But the staff have gone above and beyond to make her feel comfortable. They have talked her through the whole process and been nothing but exceptional. My children are lucky to have such a wonderful dental office to visit semi annually!!!! read more

We have moved around a lot. We have been to quite a few dentists. My boys saw Dr. Liu. Such a nice and professional dentist. We have put off getting my son braces. When my son came out he said this is the first time someone took the time to explain why I needed them. He has seen approximately 6 dentists. This is the first time a dentist has taken the time to explain why it is important to correct an overbite. He doesn't offer braces at his business. He didn't have to take the time with him. The entire staff was welcoming and professional. I made an appointment with an orthodontist. I told the receptionist story about the dentist. She said Dr. Liu is the best Pediatric Dentist in the area. Another Star for being able to fill the forms out online! read more

I have to give these people my kindest remarks. I'm quite certain that the reason my kids actually LIKE the dentist is not a personality trait: It's because these folks are so kind, patient and caring. The whole place is designed to be for children. The waiting room is comfortable, the exam rooms are large and unintimidating. Even when my son recently decided to misbehave during an exam / cleaning, the dentist was able to maintain composure (even when I was obviously upset with him for his behavior). The prices seem reasonable (not cheap - but what dentist is?) even w/o insurance. If you have a child that needs some dental work or maintenance, do them and yourself a favor and take them here! read more

After one unsuccesful try at another dentist's office, the staff at Eastside Pediatric was able to have my very uncooperative 5-year-old take the medicine to settle him down and complete all the needed work without any struggle or trauma. My son left happy and I left happy. I appreciate that the dentist's office listened to what we felt would work best with my son, and even took notes for future visits. This has not always been our experience with pediatric dentists, so we were very thankful we found Eastside Pediatric. We probably would have given them five stars if they'd been a preferred provider for our insurance. read more

Dr. Liu has been my oldest sons dentist since he was 13 months old, he is now 6.5. We have never encountered a problem in the last 6 years and every experience has been pleasant. Dr. Liu takes his time with both of my sons, as do his assistants. He takes his time to thoroughly explain anything that is being done/will need to be done and really makes my husband and i feel that our questions are important to him. The office waiting room is cozy for parents and also child friendly for the kids. The frost desk staff have also, all been very friendly! read more

Sad. My daughter has been a patient of Quimby since age 5, but now she is 14 and on Apple Health, so the clinic has dropped her. I learned this when I called to schedule an appointment today. Very sad. I asked if we can self pay, and was told that they are not allowed to accept payment from Apple Health families. I'm just so disappointed that this is how my child is treated. read more

These doctors have been caring for my kids since my 21 year old was under 2. We have gone through some difficult tooth experiences with them and have always been so grateful for their help. We especially love Dr. Lombardi and have traveled up to 2,000 miles when we have lived away from this area to keep our yearly visits with her. This is the best dental office I have found for children. I drive along way from north Seattle and it's worth the drive. Dr. Quimby and Dr. Lui (my children have seen both) are professional, informative, patient and so kind. If you have a child with special needs that may need anesthesia (slight to general) it is really hard to find in Seattle, but this is the place to come. I wish I could give a zero star review, honestly. This was a horrifying experience for our almost 4 year old daughter. She was super nervous and scared to even come to the dentist today, but she did. She has a sensitive gag reflex, so she struggled through the cleaning and was shaking and crying at the end (but toughed it out - the hygenist was very patient and kind, thankfully). Then the dentist wanted to examine our daughter's teeth, but after the tough time with the cleaning, our daughter was understandably scared. However we talked our daughter into it and the dentist said "I won't touch your teeth; I'm just going to use the mirror to look". She then proceeded to touch around with her fingers and a tool, which freaked our daughter out (since the dentist had clearly said she WASN'T going to do that) and instead of letting her have a break the dentist HELD HER DOWN and had her assistant also HOLD HER DOWN while our daughter screamed and gagged and they did not release her until the SECOND TIME I said "Let her go!". It was seriously so awful. Our daughter almost vomited and was sweating and shaking and crying. I cannot think of a worse way to approach dentistry with a nearly four year old child. I am still so horrified and shaking mad over the whole thing. Please do not take your children here. read more

I know people often fear the dentist, but we have the exact opposite experience with Dr. Liu and staff! My 3 year old daughter is excited to go and almost cried when I told her we had to leave our last appointment... she literally had to be drug away from the office (note - she's normally super obedient!). The environment is SO welcoming for little ones that I need to remember to plan extra time pre-appoint for her to play and explore the waiting area. The hygienists are amazing with the kids. I love how much they engage with my daughter and include her in the process. They talk to her, not about her. During our first visit they introduced all the tools they'd be using to "sparkle" her teeth and let her touch them. They have done this with all additional visits, which is important based on her age. My daughter also loves to make decisions so it's nice that they give her choices -- What flavor toothpaste does she want? What color toothbrush does she want? Dr. Liu is great for kids and parents! At my last appointment he saw my 1 year old daughter as well. Dr. Liu interacts with the kids and anyone who comes to the visit to make sure all questions are answered. I recommend Eastside Pediatric Dental to anyone with kids! I love that my kids are going to grow up loving their dental experience! read more
