Not only you are persuading your…read moreclients to pay for absolutely, how it turned out, unnecessary services, such as ear cleaning for $52.25, which was exactly how I usually clean my cat's ears, and ears cytology for $70.98, but you made me wait for about an hour in a very tiny and stuffy room just to see the doctor and then to get the cytology result which later turned out not helpful at all, even though I was assured that printing cytology would increase the accuracy of the diagnosis a lot. Three different practitioners of your clinic examined my cat. I got charged almost $400 just for my cat's ear exam, it turned out all for nothing. I am just a full-time student who does not have a lot of money, and I guess I either will have to find more affordable services or clean my cat's ears myself without actually getting a proper treatment. You are the closest clinic to my apartment, and moving to another clinic would mean that I would have to take my cat on a bus ride (if not several bus rides), which would cause him a lot of stress. All thanks to you. Again, I am very disappointed with the service you provided.will eitherare you

They didn't, saying they didn't have permission from me, which I had explicitly given. My cat had to suffer an extra day while these people did nothing. Theny they didn't bill me. I thought they were feeling guilty about their shoddy service, but six months later I got a call from a collections agency. The vet gave feeble excuses for why they had done this. (Luckily for me the collections agency had broken every Ontario law regarding collections. With this and me using my "outdoor voice" on them and they gave up with me).

I arrived at the Emergency at 6:30 am they opened at 7:00 am. My boy was the first patient. He had been throwing up, diarrhea, bloody diarrhea the entire night and was not eating or drinking for the entire day. I informed them that my sisters dog had the same thing 1 week earlier and the vet put her dog on an immediate iv drip. They told me it would be an hour for results from blood tests and to go home and wait. at 11:30 I called them wondering why no call back. the ver came on and said she was sorry she had forgotten to call. She told me that my dog should stay in the hospital for an iv and I asked if they could put him on for the remainder of the day and they said no that would not do that my dog should stay over night, I told them again about my sister and they said they would give him subcutaneous fluids and probiotics, antibiotics. They gave me instructions on how to give these medications. When they brought my boy out he was asleep and very limp. When we got him home (5 min. away) we could not even open his mouth. he DIED in my husband's and my arms about 20 min. after arriving home. This was on the 30th of December. The more I am finding out I realize he should have been hydrated immediately. But no, I brought him in at 7am and they did nothing..let him sit in a cage for 4 and a half hours with no fluids at all. I am having a very hard time not blaming myself I should have been more firm with them and more aware of how VITAL dehydration is in a dog. WHY DIDNT THEY KNOW THIS??????

Like I'm willing to completely switch vet clinics at this point. I'm not rich I don't have $ to spend on useless vet appointments and they do this to keep profiting and making money off people who love their animals.

Pretoria Pet Hospital should be the first places Centertown residents consider when looking for a…read morevet to care for their four legged friends. I've taken our dog to Pretoria Pet Hospital for almost 2 years now and it has been a very good experience. I've visited them on numerous occasions; ranging from normals visits for vaccinations to an emergency visit when our puppy ate something that made him keep vomiting. Every time we've been treated with respect by the competent and courteous staff. Pretoria is in a great location. It is close to the canal path and Bank street so it is an easy walk for anyone who lives downtown. Being able to walk to the vet is important if you don't own a car as many taxi drivers will refuse service if your pet doesn't fit in a carrier and waiting for a pet taxi during an emergency is stressful. If you do have a car, they only have street parking but the street has very few business so I don't think you'll run into problems finding a spot. We did some price comparing when looking to get our dog neutered. We found Pretoria to be competitive with others vet in Ottawa but but on the higher end of estimates. For vaccinations Pretoria cost the same amount as the other places we were considering and was more convenient. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. During our visits we've seen four of the five veterinarians and they've all been wonderful. In fact, I like them so much I don't even bother requesting a specific vet when booking an appointment. The vet techs and assistants have all been very friendly and good at their jobs. They do a great job of getting our dog, who is weary of strangers, to let him take his temperature and check him out. The receptionists have all been very nice as well. They always call the day before our appointment to confirm appointments and actually call back if you leave a message. In addition, if you just have a question they'll check with a vet and call you back. This is great when you have a "my pet just _____ do I need to bring him in"" question. One time our dog managed to break off part of a knuckle bone and swallowed it. A short while later he started vomiting 5-6 times in a short period so I called Pretoria to see what they recommended. The reception was very helpful and were able to get me in to see a doctor within an hour to have our dog checked out. The vet did an examination and gave a prescription for two things to help him pass the bone chunks and keep down water. She said if that didn't work by tomorrow we should being him in for xrays and possibly surgery (all done in office). The total cost for the vet trip including medicine was around $180 and our dog recovered wonderfully after he took the medicine. Downtown is lucky to have such a great pet hospital. Yes, it is a little more expensive than some other options out in the suburbs but it is convenient and has a wonderful staff.

I wanted to enroll in puppy kindergarten and was glad to learn that the registration is on going. You can start at any date and will get 5 lessons of 1 hour. On his first day, Bodhi got to meet with Alana & Roxanne, the trainers, and was right at home. We were shown the proper way to have dogs greet and moved to the hall where the training happens. The training hall is large and clean. The classes have a nice flow and are very interactive. You also get to interact with other dogs. There is a small break halfway through the class. Alana is very knowledgable and Roxanne gives your dog the extra attention that they sometime need. The Ottawa Canine School also has a day care including a one just for small dogs on Thursdays. Bodhi loved his experience and since he was already familiar with the settings because of puppy kindergarten, he was immediately comfortable. The only downside that I would like to point out is that you have to reserve/cancel in advance as there is no walk-ins. I would recommend both the classes and the day care and not to hesitate to contact them if you have any questions.

Not to mention that when my dog tried to PLAY (GASP!) at the PLAY DATE, she wouldn't cease following him around everywhere he went and giving the whole family looks, instead of approaching us with any concerns/letting us explain my dogs noisy and energetic ways. From the moment we walked in we all felt judged and considered leaving early after being told that we couldn't use some agility equipment because we were making my dog jump "too high" (maybe 3/4 of a foot?) while we were just testing out what he would be like. I was highly considering taking Timber there for some agility classes because the facility really is gorgeous, welcoming and well-kept but FAT CHANCE now. I have no doubt that their TRAINING would be fine, but this experience absolutely ruined it for me. Such a terrible waste of my $20.
